    New subscriber here, what a great multi species day!!!! I love ultralight fishing. The ponds that I fish the majority of the time don't have any really big ones in them but with the ultra light rod and light line they all feel like biggins. I am also a firm believer in using crappie nibbles, I always tip my jigs with them. There is no doubt that you will get more bites by using them, especially in these colder water months and in stained water.

    • @LoadtheBoatwithZach
      @LoadtheBoatwithZach 20 дней назад

      Thanks for subscribing! Ultralights definitely make all of the bites fun! I learned to love crappie nibbles as a kid fishing holes in the ice my dad busted for me because I was too scrawny to do it myself 🤣

  • @Harlo86

    Why right after you cast you pull the line a lil? Im just starting so trying to learn

    • @itsUncleMonK
      @itsUncleMonK 20 дней назад

      Depending on the depth you’re fishing, or species. You want to keep a tight line as soon as it hits the water. He’s doing that just to make sure his lines nice and tight in case a fish were to hit it instantly!!

    • @Harlo86
      @Harlo86 20 дней назад

      @itsUncleMonK please explain, why would pulling the line/ drag vs reeling tighten it?

    • @itsUncleMonK
      @itsUncleMonK 20 дней назад

      @ it’s just quicker and to help keep your bait in a particular column of the water. Bait hits water, reel in slack, bait will be top water column and sinking quick/slow. You can do whatever works. I’m just speaking from experience. Practice both techniques and see what works best. Normally, just reeling in works better for me.

    • @Harlo86
      @Harlo86 20 дней назад

      @@itsUncleMonK cool thx

    • @LoadtheBoatwithZach
      @LoadtheBoatwithZach 20 дней назад

      I am checking my drag since I am using lighter line than normal. I have a bad habit of violently setting the hook at times and I want to make sure I don't snap my line on the hookset or worse my poor little ultralight rod. There is a fine line between too loose to get hook penetration and to tight and breaking something. Hope this helps!
