I prefer dewalt because it’s what I grew up with. but I can use any, I’ve held and used many and it’s down to preference, dewalt and Milwaukee have the best and best lasting. Great post. I also use some Harbor Freight tools for pricing. Also use some Klein, Kobalt, and what ever does the job. I'm a 80 year old DIY in Okla that takes pride in repairs for seniors. I've had some of my tools since I was in my 30's. I take care of my tools. 😊

The thing is most of the hate is directed at the wrong targets. Ryobi is for diyers not professional contractors. If a contractor had ryobi tools then its a weird situation. Either they are using it as a beater tool or its a specialty tool only for a specific job. A non-professional using ryobi is fine. Why would they need a drill that can run under water when most of the jobs will be done in the garage?

Its funny most guys I know who say they wont use Ryobi tools have at least one or two of the blue wired Ryobi tools 😂

So in short, a drill is best for drilling holes and a driver is best for driving screws… makes sense

Same with me. I'm a 67 year old Plumbing Contractor. My son gave me a Ryobi leaf blower 10 years ago, really liked it. Was using corded tools on the job everyday. Start buying the free tool with 2 four amp batteries for 99.00. Now have over 30 one plus tools and at least 16 batteries for home and work every day. Not one tool , charger or battery has been replaced. Very very happy with Ryobi

The recip saw and oscillating tool from that set can do absolutely nothing that they are supposed to do. But Im glad they work for what you need.

I love Ryobi, the only big downside for me is that Home Depot stopped servicing them, and the closest service center that serves Ryobi is about 10h away from where I live, so effectively unless I pay a hefty price to send a tool to get it serviced under warranty, I can throw them away as they break under warranty (thankfully it hasn't happened much).

Milwaukee is just up-charged Ryobi with red instead of green plastic.

I have Milwaukee and while i like them i don't need them. If i was going to do it again I probably would go with Ryobi. If you're just a DIYer they're just fine. They don't break the bank and just as good as anything else for what you would use them for.

Extra bracing for the weight would help to make it more rigid and it needs extra strength to stop any wobble over time. Don't rely on those 2 x 4s. But an excellent idea.

how u hurt yourself: usually something was already unsteady and about to blow. basically weakened. then ANY small stupid thing will be the last straw to then be an injury. it's how people do crazy injuries on the smallest stupidest stuff. regular stretching REALLY helps mitigate this.

My girlfriend's brother left his Ryobi drill on the roof...for over a year! It was up there for one heavy Winter, lots of snow, rain, etc, sitting in the harsh Summer sun on hot tar shingles for all that time, and he picked it up, hit the trigger and it started right up! A cloud of dust blew out of it, but it ran as good as new. He's still using it two years after finding it on the roof. It wasn't a new drill either, he had used it pretty heavily for three or four years before it's stint on the roof.

The main difference for me is the impact driver stays at home😂

One has to be lucky to stumble upon ryobi tools.

I know I sound like it but I'm not trying to be a hater, bro 2.5 years later and they still look brand new, I don't know what you do professionally but still. It takes 2 months for my work tools to look like I've had them for a decade. That being said I love Ryobi I have some at the house, only problems I've ever had was that reciprocating saw is not up to the task if you use it demoing studs. I had 3 let the magic smoke out before I switched to m18 fuel, and the difference when you're really pushing these tools is night and day. Ryobi is fantastic for DIY and shop work, but it really is horrible if you use and abuse them on a commercial job

Just had my first ryobi battery die like 8 years in, your average person not in construction really doesn't need anything more heavy duty than ryobi

I used to use a drill what was Ryobi for Work had it for three years and someone stole it And what I do is competitive work

Regarding your pain, there are food High in Oxalates. Oxalates are like little crystal shards that cause congestion and pain. For example, potatoes are High in Oxalates. If you eat a lot of potatoes or other high Oxalates foods you can and will be in pain. Good Luck on finding out the real cause 🙏 all the best ✨

Great design and nice video of the assembly process. How is it holding up? Looks like its been 2 years since you made it. Watching the video, I have concerns about the durability of the melamine, specifically where the hinges are screwed in and where the tools are mounted with screws instead of nuts, bolts and washers that go all the way through. The hinges and screws bear a lot of weight and I'd worry about the screws loosening up or stripping through the wood over time due to the weight of the tools/equipment pulling against them and the melamine absorbing moisture. The garage doesn't appear to be climate controlled so the melamine could absorb moisture over time and warp.

Ryobi is made the same company as Milwaukee. I have used DeWalt for over 20 years now and I do use Ryobi as well. Most people buy and use what they can afford and there's nothing wrong with that. I don't use or buy Milwaukee because they cost too much when I can get the same thing for half or less. I give respect to Ryobi for making really good power tools they can take some abuse
