This video is all about the space requirements you need to be able to play indoor golf. its important to know if you have enough space to build your own indoor golf simulator and this video makes it easy to decide if you have what is required. the two most important things to consider is the height of your ceiling and how much space you have for ball flight and the launch monitor to be able to ready your shots.

    Nice Review and yes if you have a Crappy Mat hitting on Simulator is less enjoyable and doesn't translate on Golf Course. True Strike is the best I have hit on but recently got the True Feel and it is a very good budget Mat. I have bought a couple 4 x 6 $100 Mats on Amazon and in a garage felt like you were hitting on Cement Floor.

    I've been doing my research to build my first sim. I've already got a good practice area with mats and my net and stuff, and my old gaming laptop should be able to run all the programs so it might become the designated sim machine. Right now I'm leaning towards Mevo+ LE with the 12 free E6 courses, pro package, and face data (according to my research, the free e6 courses do come with the PC version of the software on the Limited Edition) and paying full price to own TGC2019. A question I have looking at your spreadsheet: GSPro has requirements similar to TGC and E6 connect, but poor graphics vs great graphics. Would you know if the system requirement indicates that it uses that power elsewhere? Is it's physics engine more complicated; but better than the options with better graphics but less requirements?

      hey ryan. one thing you could do is just have the mat under the ball so your feet are on the ground which should give you just a bit of extra clearance. you dont really need the mat under your feet except for just the convenience of having a flat surface for the ball

    • @golfdynasty

      keep in mind that the launch monitor has to be set up behind the spot where the ball sits so its important to think of how you will use it most often. if you plan on having left and right handed players using it for the same round of golf then you are best off having the hitting matt centered with turf on either side of it. having the setup centered around right handed players simplifies your setup a bit because you only need to have turf on one side of the hitting mat like i have in my setup. i hope this helps

    When you are talking about the putting green sheets to cover the floor service but then you mention that you said it will be uneven with the hitting mat. I am not quite sure how you make everything even. If you have the hitting mat with the three different surfaces ( fairway , rough, deeper rough), you would just put that on top of the putting sheets wouldnt you? and if you put, just move the hitting mat? You say you can put a filler pad to make it even, but the video still shows you putting the hitting mat on top of the putting sheets. What is the actual setup there?

    • @golfdynasty
      @golfdynasty 11 месяцев назад

      those are some valid questions - you can make everything even by buying padded putting mats that match the thickness of your hitting mats or by adding something under the different surfaces to make everything even. in the video i was placing mats over the putting surface for the sake of testing different mats but my permanent setup has all of the hitting mats level with the putting surface. i should say that it doesn’t necessarily have to be all level - thats just a preference thing.

      @edgarherrera89 in my current setup i have two mats next to each other and for one of them i had to cut out a section of my putting mat so it fits into it without moving around. you might be best off buying the mat that you like the most and make it fit into your setup

    Thanks for this - I am wondering about an iPad Pro set up. The sim will be in my garage so I will need a long Ethernet cable to connect to my Starlink Gen 1 router. That should bring a good signal to the garage. I then have a dongle for ipad which has 1 hdmi port and 1 regular Ethernet port. The Ethernet port will then be used for the internet connection and I assume the HDMI port will be used for the projector. I am using the Mevo. This is my planned set up - do you see any issues with it? Thanks

    • @golfdynasty

      that all sounds mostly good. you shouldn’t even need the ethernet connection to your ipad but its good to have that as a backup. also, another option would be to get mesh wifi extenders to avoid having to run a long ethernet to your sim (this way you would only have to run an ethernet cable from the closest wifi extender)

    I'm a very satisfied R10 owner for the last couple weeks and I can't say how amazed I am about playing golf in my garage this winter. As a golfer enthusiast, constantly trying to improve my game and others, I would like to help and with no bad intentions at all, let me tell you three things I noticed watching you swing (Btw, to each his own, if your swing works for you, good for you! Take it or leave it.) 1. Your grip is too weak, try to rotate that right wrist a little bit more over; You will gain in consistancy and avoid top wrists injuries. (or start by trying to wrap your thumb around over the top) 2. Your back swing could be higher and your body too; slowly do some backswings higher and higher withtout compromising the accuracy 3. Try to to move your wrists forward when you hit on the ball; Irons are meant to be hit at an angle (hands first) unlike the woods/driver. Keep golfing my friend! That's amazing your pulling out shots like this after two seasons. Good job!

      @alphakep no the projector screen that i have linked cannot be hit into. if you want one that you can hit into you need it to be made specifically for that which is why its called an impact screen. quality impact screens are quite a bit more expensive than a regular projector screen also they dull the image more than a regular projector screen so there is definitely a tradeoff. also impact screens obviously cause some noise when they are hit. if you buy a cheap one it will sound like you are playing drums in your sim lol

    I bought the MLM2PRO and going back to the R10 for accuracy and data I get for free, not locked out for $200 every year to use something I own that the R10 gives for free and more. Also, doesn’t the R10 need to be on the same level of surface as the hitting area? Only reason I ask is that I used to have a mat, about an 1.5” thick and kept getting weird readings at times. I ended up cutting a piece of wood to the same thickness and put the R 10 on top of that, now had no problem since. I even have an MLM2PRO I preordered and was planning to swap that to my main. They are within a yard or two for every shot. It dont even use the RCT balls either, just regular balls and put a piece of silver duct working tape and get accuarate spins (within 100rpms of MLM2PRO and specialized balls it comes with). I planned to sell my R10, but with how accurate it is, and how many features you get without the subscription, (things like face at impact) which is huge for me as cna see if my line or face is the issues, I’m now happily staying with the R10 and going to send this MLM2Pro back. I was originally so excited for the MLM and willing to but now there’s no way I’m spending $200 a year to get less than what my Garmin has. The R10 is way above it price and an amazing value. If your an amateur, you dont need spin anymore accurate IMHO. Most people can keep spin within 100 RPM for 5 hits in a row every time anyways but feel they need it from the hype these changes get paid to push the newest tech.

      @ktms admittedly i havent tested the mlm2pro but i got the suspicion that it was overhyped and over marketed that it doesnt surprise me that you are going back to the r10. i agree, the yearly fee is highway robbery. even my $2,200 mevo plus doesnt require a yearly subscription fee and im sure its far more accurate than the mlm2pro

    @5:16 if you select the Icons instead of list view, it will show thumbnail of the course. I don't actually own the software or any launch monitors yet. I will be selling everything I own to buy one soon.

      jarod, there is no official integration but if you are willing to do a little extra work you can make it work with a device interface. heres a video that might help if you are interested in doing that m.ruclips.net/video/b0QdD000F8E/видео.html

    Useful thought-provoking video. In this case, throwing out your experience, and the questions without judgement is useful given the wide range of people that might/should be considering the impact surface IMO.

    Wedges are not designed to scoop a ball. Huge misconception

    • @golfdynasty
      @golfdynasty Год назад

      very true. what i really meant is that hard turf doesnt have any give to it so if you hit it anything but perfect it will cause your club to twist open, have you top the ball or both

    Nice test, i recommend anyone that has the R10 to use anything other than the Garmin range. Awesome Golf, E6, GSPRO, etc are a lot better and much more accurate
