Nice video brother but you could have showed hoe to put back on trans lines
Ps why did you not wear gloves 😩 literally picking up shit lmao

Ps your mom is the best!! ❤️
Okay John how much did you pay for this 😂
@@randomperson90ehh During Covid I paid 10k which I think at the time was an incredible find!
Hey man, I have a 2008 single cab and I am looking into installing a 3 inch body lift from rough Country myself.. The 2 cab bolts on the back of the cab are spinning the other two front ones come out no problem. I see in your video you had the same issue with one of your bolts. So if I cut a hole in each of those mounts for the cab I can get access to the nut to hold it to back out the nut? And what did you do when you put the new hardware back in from rough country? Did you have to put it into the existing nut? And finally, did you have to weld the nut back in place so you could put the new hardware back in? Thanks
@@CLD316 ya I just cut a box to have access to the welded nut probably grabbed vise grips to keep it from spinning, you can weld in that weld nut bracket back into place if you want, I’m pretty sure I grabbed a new nut and tightened and called it good or used the existing weld nut plate and used vise grips again to tighten it, I didnt bother welding anything back into place.
@@JohnPonce thank you for the reply, sir!
Isnt the best motor the 6.0 for that year?
@@justnosa3481 I believe so I know it’s not the 4.8
@JohnPonce 4.8 will probably fill the pocket with fuel savings compared to the 6.0 though.
Great video. I’m going to buy 2010 Silverado in a couple days and I’m looking for truck ideas. Thanks for the help.
@@kolereiser no problem their prone to rust on the rocker panels so I’d highly recommend crawling underneath the vehicle and see if you spot any rust
@@JohnPoncegot any extra wheels I can buy from you? Not sure what’s good or bad. Still new to all this.
@@JohnPonceI will definitely look thank you
@@kolereiser I do not unfortunately, and everyone has a preference. What might help you decide if you go on custom wheels offsets website and look under their gallery you can get an idea of what it will look like for your truck before you buy them.
@@JohnPonce sounds great thank you
Turn the wheels all the way to the left, remove four sheet metal screws and six grommets to remove the fender well. Takes less than five minutes and you can reach all four passenger side plugs. Also twist the wires first and they come off easier.
I’m adding the same lift what wheel spacers will I need to make the front and back even on 37s?
Do these fit for 2500 as well i assume?
I’d imagine their not too different
You have no idea what youre doing. Shouldnt be doing how to videos
I didn't see you change the thermostat 🤷🏻♀️ any reason why ??? That is part of yr water flow isn't it ???
If you havnt already YES now would also be a good time to change thermostat and change hoses if their showing their age or signs of replacement. I’m pretty sure I had replaced the thermostat recently, but it was so long ago I don’t remember honestly.
what inch is the lift on this truck
4 inch ready lift is what was on it before I went to a 9 inch McGuaghys
damn I just got a 07 silverado im still 14 but my dad is only letting me get a 2 inch lift which im fine with im excited to see what my car will become@@JohnPonce
spyder headlights all day .
So, that is a texture spray gun?
Essentially it came with the Raptor UPol Kit it’s an Applicator Gun specifically designed to screw onto Raptor Bottles
Did u add top coat?
No it’s only necessary if you plan to have the paint exposed to sunlight.
Save some hand work by using a pump up air spray bottle, they would save you a lot of work
Duuuude what the fuck man, what a difficult couple of trips youve had! Glad the car worked out for you tho and that it's still been good for ya. Keep up the great work man, love the editing!
Dude I know lifted trucks and reliability just simply doesn’t go together 😂 Thank you so much! Although my editing is a work in progress, it truly means allot to hear feedback from others 🙌 I will continue to grow each and every video! 🤟
Great video but dang.. What is the solution for the discs themselves... My rims dont hide them as well
If your talking about the rotors themselves, I wouldn’t paint on them, your better off just buying new rotors on your next brake job.
@@JohnPonce Thats the problem... They are new, but already got rust rings in a few months.. Must be my coastal area. Looking for solution but I guess some careful wire brushing im not sure.
I’m changing the radiator on my 13’ Silverado 4.8L this weekend. Your video has given me the confidence to do this! Thanks brother!! Looks like I have the same leak, the plastic part on the driver’s side. After I get the old radiator out; could I take a hose and run water thru the truck, putting the hose in the top driver’s side hose and hopefully it drains from the bottom hose (The one that goes into the thermostat)?? I want to get all the gunk, crap and this radiator fix I used (Bar’s Leaks Pelletized Formula) out of the truck, before I put the new one in. I hope that made sense. Thanks again for the awesome videos! I’ve watched several of yours, learning how to fix and work on my truck.
Ya that’s a good way to clean it out, I’ve done that a couple of times on used vehicles that have been neglected from the previous owner. I’d just run water throw the top hose or even the thermostat housing itself when too hose is off until I see a clear stream of water flowing through.
4.8 is better than the 5.3 it doesn't have afm, the power difference is negligible especially with mods, there is also little difference in the two other than the dreaded afm just .5 liters bigger
I actually heard that before, I also heard it was a better motor to turbo but I’m not so sure if that’s true or not.
Did you have extended sway bar links ?
McGaughys Lift Kit actually had sway bar link extensions, so I used the oem sway bar links
Nice job!!!! Do yourself a favor and take your truck to a suspension or spring shop and have them add a couple leaf springs under that ass end!
I actually ended up putting a add a leaf with new oem leaf springs when I lifted the Silverado
Hi Jhon Can you let me know what’s the smaller radiator that’s in front of regular radiator called?
I think your talking about the AC condenser
omggggg, WaKeeney 😂 terrible place to break down. I’d know, I grew up there lol
Omgish! I would of have never known if you told me! I can honestly say that was the most anxiety I’ve ever experienced. 💯 agree with your statement 😅
Oh my gosh!!! JUAN!!! These solo trips are jinxed, Man!!!!! Dafuq!!
I know 😞 I need a hire a accountability buddy 😂
What camera and lens are you using bro?
Canon R5 with RF 15-35mm F2.8 🤟
Ozarka appreciates the plug. 😅
Whered you get those lights? They do look sic
I actually bought them on Amazon their Spyder Auto www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B071V65P89?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
Thanks. I have a 2011 silverado. I think these will fit. Not sure. But your truck looks like the same model i have.
So , did you ever lay a top coat over any of the POR 15 undercoating that you applied ??? beceause , it is neccessary for the parts that are directly accessible by sunlight ! UV RAYS are the devil to POR 15 and we need to apply a top coat over any pieces that are being hit by sun light !! the guy below was asking for photos what it looks like today .. can you show those ?...
How's the Por15 holding up? Still pleased with the results? I'm ready to do mine this summer but for some reason, there are not many long term videos out there.
So with tha add leaf is gonna be a 8-9 Lift ?
Ya so it’s not necessary if your planning to stick at 7”
I was going back and forth between the atak and the xr-1..... they both sound really good for chevys .... just enough but not too much..... thanks for the vid
Ya that’s what I like about them, just enough to hear them but nothing overpowering, until you give it some gas on the highway and open it up. Definitely wasn’t looking for something constant and obnoxious
Just started doing this on my 96 Z28. Watched this with my father and we were wondering why you did not do the leaf springs. My old 74 nova always had gloss black leaf springs.
It’s because I ended up buying new leaf springs, same with the differential cover, I avoided wasting time on parts I knew I was replacing.
@@JohnPonce Yeah, I put new extra hi-lift leafs on my nova and they arrived gloss black with a little bit of rust all over them from J.C.Whitney. I was like your kidding. Had to paint them again. I guess even sitting on a storage shelf they start to rust. 🙁
@@sacul7694 I feel your pain, I recently got a raptor and replaced the leaf springs with Deavers HD leaf springs, and everyone online was saying to coat them before installing and I just couldn’t believe how fast they would surface rust it’s insane how cheap of a paint they put on those leaf springs
I’ve been looking for a black bowtie myself, could you tell me where you got yours?
Been watching your channel for a while now John and been enjoying your content because i have a similar truck. Just wanted to ask what type of gearing you have now on the diff. I just lifted my truck with the same Mcgaughys lift kit on 37s. Just wanted some gearing recommendations and brand to go with. Also im going to upgrade the diff cover aswell.
The B&M cover I wouldn’t recommend, it ended up causing me to have troubles when I took my truck long distance with the design of the stopper bolts I was trying to have a nice lifted truck but also have the capability to tow reliably, but it didn’t work out the way I wanted too the gears I put on my truck I actually don’t even remember but wouldn’t recommend the ratio I used anyways. Honestly gearing is really out of my realm. I would go to your local shop that does gearing and ask for their recommendations. The brand G2 is what I used for the gears and Eaton for ELocker I didn’t have issues with the parts just the ratio and if it’s even necessary to have a elocker for your setup are questions I’d be asking to a gear shop, there’s also allot more than just buying the gears allot of misc bearing and what not if your having a shop do it they’ll explain it to you, if your going to tackle it yourself I would ask the gear shop everything you’ll need to buy. Hope this helps.
@@JohnPonce Ok thanks for the suggestion . I was thinking of going 4.56 gears ,but like you said I’ll ask around gearing shops for recommendations first and do my research. I don’t do towing as much so is not a big deal for me . I have 6 speed trans and 3.42 gears currently. For the Diff cover I’ll probably just go with the yukon cover but the only downfall it doesn’t have fins like the B&M.
@@fatalshot8783 Now that you mentioned it 4.56 gears is what I think I put in my truck, but since you won’t be towing and you have a larger motor than me you probably won’t experience any of my issues I had. B&M I just wouldn’t recommend installing the backing bolts they provide, that rest on top of your differential caps. What I ended up doing was putting a little bit of thread sealant and just blocking it with a short bolt than using the bolts they provided.
Why aren’t we just spraying this stuff on?
I don’t have a gun or compressor
Thank you Travis Barker for taking the time to show us this.
No problem 👍
I just change spark plugs on my silverado too. That last spark plug in no joke. Im watching videos to see how other people did it and i never even thought of getting it from under the truck.. thanks. I will try it next time
Honestly taking the time to remove the wheel well liner is probably a better approach I had to use a ridiculous amount of extensions and swivel to make it work.
Seems like less work to remove the bed than work around it, and then you can get to everything.
Truck frame then cracked on the next pothole 😂
What sice it is the ring,?
Unwatchable

Great video was curious how the por 15 held up
Can we get a follow up video bro?
What is the gap?
Their iridium plugs if you try and gap them, you’ll break the filament type. But they already come pregapped
Nice tires..
