Oceanside is the last, unspoiled, beach city remaining in SD County. You know, just far enough north or furthest point from Metro SD -- ground zero cesspool -- where ethnic settlements, poverty, crime, gangs, etc. have taken a foothold. Yes, it represents the white flight and affluence that comes with it, but it has been able to "shield" itself geography and luckily, from the "diversity invasion" that has infected the remaining SD coastline cities to varying degrees -- again, its location is the salvation. However, it is not immune from urban problems but seems to keep this regulated to "pockets/minimal" that affluence/home values -- the inveterate socioeconomics -- can for "urban disease" containment. Its northernmost location, its long rich history, and longtime oceanside residents, families, and traditions have retained the charm and livability of this Seaside City.

like the year you were born was a good time to live there and people use to call it chula juana and it was not the nicest place to like but when easlake came out it was far enough away from the city you didn't have to be scared of getting jumped like palomar and broadway the saying was country living city close and i spent 35 years there, you could buy a new house in terra nova in 1985 for $185,000 we sold it in 06 for $800,000 but there was a 2nd chance in 2012 to buy and affordable house but from 16 on forget san diego we movbed to az in 2018 and bought a new house for 240k and now that house we sold in terra nova is 1.5 million which it is not worth it at all

Hi, I just watched your video and there’s quite a few parks in El Cajon and fletcher hills. I live in fletcher hills there’s Wells Park Renette Park Kennedy Park and they’re all quite big one of them even has a skateboarding place. I think it’s Wells Park that has it. You should also go up to Mount Helix, which is part of El Cajon, the fantastic views.

I live close to El cajon California

I was born in 1950 and lived in El Cajon from then until 1979. If you think it's pretty now, you should have seen it then! It was a great place go grow up. You could take the bus to the beaches. Just a really nice little town to raise a family.

I've lived here for 70 years! Your picks are either super expensive or downright bad areas. North Park, Normal Heights, Hillcrest, Little Italy are not for the faint hearted. I would not live in any of those cities nor even drive thru them. .

No, thanks. We left San Diego (Mira Mesa) in 1993. We have no desire to go back to California. The Democrats have destroyed it. I don't even recognize it anymore.

Grew up in El Cajon in the early 90s .

San Diego born and raised. Chula Vista was my hometown after that from 1965-2004. Now in WA state. I visit every once in a while and like the town, but the sheer house cost, cost of living, and the population has exploded, especially after the city decided to expand east and build Eastlake and surrounding areas. Love to visit, but not for me any more. Guess I was lucky to live there in the golden era of my youth! 😊

Well done! As a Clairemont resident -- Bay Ho -- your take on the diversity of our home/neighborhood is accurate. The diversity is a secret! The Rodney Dangerfield of neighborhoods, Clairemont doesn't get the respect she deserves. Our history as a middle class, mid-1950's tract subdivision -- a collection of mostly tired, less well maintained homes -- is no longer true. There's a lot of great homes -- well maintained in desirable locations-- in Clairemont.

I love these videos I used to live in OB, at 2069 Abbott Street, first floor across from the laundry room. I paid $250 a month. I moved out end of November 1979.

Bonita is awesome, imperial beach is the most affordable beach property however it’s super close to the border but I’ve never had ANY issues - lakeside is great and flat and clean air - Del cero is excellent if you afford it - hillcrest is one of the best and north park rocks !

You spent about a third of this video completely outside Serra Mesa, and never noted that the Village is military housing. I suggest you do more research before creating your videos.
