High Protein Chilaquiles

I’m noticing a trend in my favorite breakfasts: a saucy, savory dish with eggs and carbs for soaking it all up. If you liked my shakshouka, you’ll love this too. Run to the store to make this. It’s got a bunch of protein too (over 30 grams)… so brunch gains all around. Ingredients: - 4 eggs - 1/2 cup non fat greek yogurt - 8 oz shredded chicken - Tortilla chips - 1/2 lime - 16oz of Salsa Verde ...

Veggie Spring Rolls w/ Peanut Chili Sauce

A great way to improve your gut health is to consume more fiber, protein, and macronutrients… and these spring rolls have all of the above. In addition, these are relatively low calorie, so a good option if you’re trying to lose fat. Or it’s a great option to change up the way you eat protein. In other words, you’ve got to try this! If you have an extra sensitive stomach, I suggest cooking the ...

How can this be "nutrient dense" with all that white rice? Rice isn't nutrient dense. It's mostly carbs, without even any fiber! And the high amount of fructose and sucrose in honey acts in the body the same as any sugary food. And coupled with all those carbs in the rice, which doesn't even have any fiber to slow the absorption into the blood stream, there is bound to be a huge glucose and insulin spike, which is extremely detrimental and inflammatory. I think this lovely young man is a little confused sbout the meaning of nutrient dense, anti-inflammatory, and healthy. For instance, what possible purpose is there in adding that honey? Does he really think the tiny bit if nutrients in there are going to make up for all the glucose and fructose in sol those carbs?
1 cup of white rice isn't a lot of rice. It has only about 200 calories, and also includes protein. You're correct about there being no fiber, but it's much easier to digest for people like me who have gut disease. It also has vitamin B, folate, manganese, and iron. Making it nutrient dense. And yes, honey is made up of fructose and glucose. BUT, 1 tbsp is a tiny amount. Only about 60 calories AND is also full of antioxidants and is antimicrobial. And if you have use local honey, it can be great for your allergies. The fiber from the bell pepper, and the fat and protein from the eggs WILL slow down digestion and the absorption of glucose into the blood stream. In fact, the majority of calories and macros from this meal come from fat. As far as to why add the honey? Well because this lovely young man thinks it tastes lovely. I appreciate your time and concern, but there is no confusion here. Do you really think a meal of carbs, fats, and protein will be detrimental to your health?
Yes. And quite likely those carbs are responsible for your gut issues as well. You have also mentioned calories several times, showing how far you are behind recent science. Calories are literally irrelevant. To start, please watch some videos by Dr. Jason Fung (@JasonFungMD); Drs Chaffee, Cywes, Westman, Berry, Baker, Berg, and especially Dr. Robert Lustig for more current understanding of what I am referring to. (You will also discover many more.) AND the "Glucose Goddess" is also doing a great job of explaining the effects of these carbs on our glucose spikes and how to mitigate the risks to allow their ingestion with minimal harm. And on the subject of your gut problems, please read the comments section of these doctors' videos as if your life depended on it. Because someday it may.🤗 And finally, please also understand that I mean you no harm and apologize if I sounded flippant, rude or arrogant. i once thought as you do, until crippling arthritis, chronic gut pain, high BP, and obesity forced me to finally look outside the box for my cure. Which turned out to be saying goodbye to ALL of my beloved plants, including all grains, at least for a little over a year. I am gradually adding a few back, but still haven't found much that doesn't bring back the inflammation. 🥰🤗
Dsmn dont take nutrition advise from semi-nude spaghetti men on the internet

This looks really good. I wasn't sure about how the honey would taste with the peppers and egg, but I'm going to give it a shot. Thank you!

Is there a good substitute for bell pepper? I have a mild allergy.
Most spicier veg, such as Cabbage, is a good alternative. Cabbage is a big inflammation fighter. Adding garlic and onions or even Ginger to it make it even more effective. As long as you don't have a sensitive stomach cause can cause indigestion.

1 pastry will make you gain weight if you eat it in addition to all your daily calories for months.
@@John_Smith455 that’s true. And while I don’t encourage people to eat a pastry everyday, as long as they budget for the calories they can get away with it and not gain weight

There is a big difference between one’s weight and one’s health status
Obesity is one of the biggest contributing factors to an early death.
@@gofogold858 that can definitely be true. But that still doesn’t mean you can’t be healthy and eat a pastry
@@nzfitnessnut Yes, I agree. But in the video you're primarily talking about fat and carbs, and while macronutrients are important, the ingredients and the source of the food in question is as or more important. Once in a while it is fine, but just because someone is not gaining fat from a food, does not mean the food is healthy. If I eat two pastries a day, but I am in good shape at least from an outside perspective, am I necessarily healthy? I would argue, no. It is very much possible, there are plenty of athletes who have horrible diets, but maintain a good physique and peak athletic performance. All and all I am just trying to say this narrative that focuses on macronutrients is very short sighted. Health is a life long endeavor. I appreciate your video though bro.
@@gofogold858 I agree with you. 100%. However, I find that what you're saying is the next step for someone once they get comfortable with macros and energy balance. And for most people, they're just struggling to eat the right amount of calories and macros

I thought running miles was for endurance

@@pluradox you should do both haha, I was just being controversial and funny. But my caption says as much. But you can definitely gain endurance from doing sprints
Tbh i always think about cardio as having sex, i rather take my time
I’m not sure that this is true, but I believe it is as I’ve heard it from several reliable sources, but do your own research, I’ve heard running burns fat better and sprinting burns carbs better
Oh I have done a bunch of research! Running long distance uses fat as energy better because of fat oxidation (metabolic system), and sprints are explosive movements so they will use the glycogen for quick energy. But fat burn is different than fat loss
@@nzfitnessnut because you have to factor that the glycogen will later transfer to fat? Or is there another reason fat burn and fat loss are different?
@@TheAmericanGymrat neither fat loss or fat burn has to do with glycogen really (fat burn sort of does, when glycogen stores are depleted, your body will burn fat for energy. But fat burn means your body is using fat for energy (dietary or on your body). And fat loss is actually losing fat mass off your body.
@@nzfitnessnut yes but if you use fat for energy it has to come off your body and get digested
@@TheAmericanGymrat if only it were that simple. The human metabolism is fairly complex. Yes, your body uses dietary fat and stored fat for energy during fat oxidation (fat burn), BUT that doesn’t mean fat loss will occur. Fat loss is achieved through a sustained calorie deficit. In principle you could only do high intensity, short duration exercise and not tap into fat oxidation… and if you’re in a calorie deficit you’d still lose fat.
Your form is booty!😂
At least he’s out there doing something
@@porkchopblack591 doing something wrong 💀
Sprints burn more calories than running but you can’t go as far walking burns slightly less calories than running but it’s less damaging to joints and a lot more sustainable so the best form of cardio for someone who is more out of shape would be a long brisk walk
Do both 🤯🤯
Haha yes. My caption says as much.
I do both 😂
Nah, sprints and jump rope.
Facts. Sprinters are always cut.
I'm gonna hold your pp when I say this but cardio big gay
I’m gonna hold your hand when I say this but Running mile are better
People should definitely be doing both. And it's also dependent on the adaptations an individual is trying to elicit, BUT.... for general population I believe sprinting is better.
