Hey that was really insightful, thank you for this i just have a question. can someone directly apply to the jobs there after completing language course? especially when the person already has the education. and only wanted to do the language course. or can someone get job seekers visa after completing the course?
Hi, i am going for summer language courses in korea. Do you recommend school dorms? Or what accomodation?
My god, this is so relatable to my experience at hankuk.
Super info, thank you. Haven't heard this explained so well elsewhere, sorry to say most coverage even on forums is superficial while this explanation was deeply considered. Small correction. "You learn tons of vocabularies" --> really Korean is one language it has only one vocabulary.
Thanks for your video honestly ❤ i will start language school soon and ill make sure to use my Korean and try and make more Korean friends and study after school.
I’m thinking about starting Sogang in the spring! Can I ask which school you’re considering? :}
I just found your video cause I decided to change my University which is now Sogang. I agree to you 100% The funny thing about Sogang is they promote themself with speaking etc. but honestly its not. It depends so much on the teacher and they don't even let you know the midterm grades for the oral exam. The teachers have no structure and everyone teaches how they want. Many students have complained there...and Sogang is even more expensive than SKY. Even we have 2h of "speaking" at Sogang, we just repeat the dialogues in the book, there is no freestyle and if we do freestyle at the writing part (there is a dialogue writing exam as well), it will be marked as wrong cause everything has to match the book. Sure you here foreigners are talking in korean to each other but you hear that at ewha etc. as well. So like you said, the courses are made to be able to study in korean not speak. I decided to change universities cause sogang doesn't do something different in the end...
@@TheLonerStorm So I decided to stay at Sogang till level 4 cause after I talked to Yonsei Korean language trainee students, I realised Sogang is really way better. They Yonsei students who are in a higher level than me can't even talk korean....and they told me, that they really focuse more on grammar and not on talking. They said sometimes they dont talk at all even in the speaking class. And btw Sogang is way more relaxed. I will transfer to Ewha for level 5-7 but thats because I want to take the Topik and enter a Master Programm and Ewha is a good mix of Sogang and Yonsei. If I compare how languages are taught in Korea with how language are taught in Europe, than yeah I would stick to my previous comment and say, its a lot of book studying but you need to compare the single institutions here. and trust me its totally bullshit to go to a sky university for just korean cause sky is just important for a degree not which language u are studying as a trainee. So if you just wanna study grammar and need to reach a high topik level fast, then go to yonsei. If you wanna be more confident in speaking and thats your main goal then from all other institutions, Sogang is really the best. One of my friend who just is about to finish level one and came with 0 korean can already speak some basics and can even order comfortably at restaurants. But yeah sure you need to make an effort outside of class too to speak korean. If you wanna have a mix of everything, then choose Ewha, but in the end it really depends on what u wanna focus at and what ur end goal is. But, both Ewha and Yonsei have way more Vocabulary to study than Sogang and way more Grammar. For me, level 1-2 at Sogang might have been a bit disappointing just cause I had already a certain level in Korean and didnt take the placement test. Hope this gonna help you
@@TheLonerStorm oh then definitely go for Sogang! If you know the basics then u can easily skip Level 1, if you pass of course. Get a look at the Sogang level 1 books :) especially the vocabulary, cause sogang is using more daily vocabs. And since ur goal is speaking, take the morning classes KGP200. Cause the afternoon classes are for academic purpose. Hope u gonna have fun :)
@@user-rg5ps7tk5j du u know if a beginner wants to get topik -3-4 certificate then till what level she should do language course in Korea? And after taking classes do we need to prepare for separately for topik exam or they make us prepare?
@@Eommalalalala Honestly it depends on yourself. I know people they haven't visited languages courses in Korea and got topik 4. For topik you need to study a lot of grammar and the vocabulary which is used for the exam. No talking needed. Beside the general vocabulary, topik has kind of their own vocabulary list . I would recommend you to get a topik book to study . cause the topik exam has also its own way how to answer questions you gonna need to practice a lot. you can get all informations online

Which university would you recommend from the ones offering Korean language programs in Seoul?
well done. you are really honest in sharing your experience. I feel the same. thank you very much for sharing your experience in learning korean language
thank you for the info! just want to add the background music is a little too loud, it makes it hard to focus on what your saying and perhaps harder for non native English speakers
Thank you for the advice on the background music, will be more careful next time!
If I want to do Master in korea after language course then which college is better option for me can you suggest it
salut, sympa d'avoir ton retour!!
You guys are so cute 😍 thank you for sharing ur experiences ☺
You are talking nonsense. You do not know what you are talking about.
Hi! Just came across your video, and thank you for your input! I learned 5 levels of korean in university in my country (i was from the asian studies department) and I'm so disappointed to see apparently the approach is exactly the same i had in uni. I know a lot of grammar, i can read well and translate things quite well too, but i just can't speak at.all. and it's ridiculous and so frustrating because that's my main goal with the language. I wanted to go to Korea next year and i thought by doing one language program more focused on speaking I'd feel more confident but honestly now I'm not sure what to do. There's also the problem with the visa bcs my university doesn't have an agreement with any korean uni...so yeah. Not really sure what to do now
Hi there! Don't feel too bummed, I think the best thing you can do to practice speaking is actually being in Korea! Being forced to speak in Korean to do your groceries, to open a bank account, to travel, making Korean friends... you'll make tremendous progress in no time. So what's left is to figure out the visa part ; working holiday or language school being the best choices. At the language school you might study things you already know and feel frustrated by the pedagogy, but I believe there's always new things to learn so maybe don't close that door just yet :)
honestly, just go to korea by yourself and practice speaking by interacting with koreans as much as possible. at a language school, you will learn grammar you already know but it won't help you. at dongguk, they focus on speaking BUT if you can't speak well you will be put in level 1 which means learning hangeul. it is so frustrating.
Momoland
Thanks for sharing ... this was both cute and enjoyable ... we should do this more often :-P
By any chance is there such scholarships for language courses? they are so expensive:(
And can you share the link to the TV show, it would be cool to watch a Korean show 🤗
I'll try to find it! I don't know if it has English subtitles though, else I will recommend you other fun variety shows 😁
@@bisoubisoutv I'm in, for both options 😁

Wow i really liked your video, is very informative! Thank you so much
