Winnipeg's Malefaction. They ruled and Travis was even better. Chupacabra and Detestation also on the bill.

It still blows my mind that I Is For Insignificant hadn't even been released yet and it sounds like they have already written/perfected all the material that would later end up on If Life We a Result. Such a prolific band back in those early days.
Oh this is so fucking good 😮💨
Fu:k Yeah
when crust and veganism wasn't a fucking "fad"..... Now crust and being vegan became a fucking "fashion" and being "cool" and then posting it on stupid "social media" SUCKS!
That crowd needs some more energy!!! Amazing stuff going on right infront of them
To be fair, it was a pretty small space. Literally a guy named Tak's actual family's basement. People didn't want to trash the place either, Tak was cool.
i fell asleep in their tour van once.
Sounded like new age at the very beginning 🤣
Yep!
Black Sabbath Children of the Grave
Awesome footage
Interesting comment in 12:06 and Detestation will be playing 2024 after 25 years without having a show. I love Detestation anyway.
indeedy!
Kelly isn't playing the reunion.
@@PitchBlackForge :(
WHEN? WHERE??
Don’t forget to mention a Ticketmaster show and it being in la where all the posers stay
Magnific
aka jon american car!
Fuckin' awesome upload. Humble beginnings.
Didn't you crash on my floor in Vancouver?
I'm a native Calgarian and its awesome to see how good the hardcore scene was here back in the 90s. If there is anyway to listen to this bands (plus a few more featured on this page) demos/releases I'd love to hear them!
One of my favorite bands. HHIS live was ruthless to your ears. So good
❤️❤️❤️
Pretty sure I was at this show. I went to high school with the drummer.
i love tragedy and his hero his gone
0:33 - Professional Mind Fuckers 2:17 - Headcount 3:28 - Products of a Cold War (Tragedy Song) 4:40 - You Are An Experiment (Tragedy Song) 7:28 - Paranoia Secured Im very hard of hearing, and making these out of this wall of noise of a video was difficult but I fucking love HHIG and these few live videos are epic.
legends!
Thanks for uploading. @25:44 Tsawwassen is my favourite song by d.b.s.
@19:30 Tsawwassen
I had that same d.b.s shirt, we all have a heart , we all have a brain , why aren't we all treated the same , seen these guys and another time dbs played multi , or Houndsfeild or Taks pl , good time s , glad I was part of the 90s Punk scene
Thanks so much for sharing! I discovered d.b.s. in 2002, one year after they disbanded.
Awesome! Thanks uploader!! I still rock these guys to this day.
I recall a basement show, Tac was his name?? I dunno thought in South Calgary
💚🖤🔥
The purest form of punk rock! Aggression expression of your feelings against the norm and your disapproval. It's beautiful to see that there was bands that showed the beauty of disagreeing to the popular belief of normal social life. Even though music has changed since through the years message of disapproval still exist. Resist!
I grew up watching these guys at the Antenna club in Memphis. Their shows were......good. the build up..... .......and BOOM. They'd play.
I see that Andy was driving the van that day. hahaha
This is a fun document... Dave G intro!
What venue in Columbus was this?
Madlab at 109 N Grant downtown
Was this Tac's basement?
Never mind it say Tak's basement. I was at this show. So random.
I think so , also a D.b.s show on this channel , pretty sure Tacs basement , alot of shows un this basement, also do u remember Slow Kids Playing Fast lol
Sad the crowd was so shit
Nah! Perfect without obstruction.
@@billybailey713 true for fans but sucks for the band.
@@joshuapocalypse too cool to dance in '97 lol
Dbs was awesome!
This could not have been very long before His Hero's final show. A great upload! As others have noted, this show featured unfinished versions of what would become two different Tragedy songs, both of which were released the year after this show on their first record. Products of a Cold War is @ 3:28 and Your Are An Experiment is @ 4:40. Paul wore that hat a lot that summer, good times to remember.
Just one more comment here…it’s remarkable that they played zero songs from their final album (The Plot Sickens) but played not one, but two nascent Tragedy songs. Great stuff, heady times, I miss those days. They made some of the most impactful art humans were making at the time.
Jara! Awesome dude, I've still got a tape of this somewhere
Easily the greatest Calgary band ever.
This is wild! Thank you! I have never seen this, what a memory!!!
You hit the nail on the head actually. That song @ 4:40 is "You Are An Experiment" off Tragedy's first LP...which is also still their best release imo. This set ruled. Thanks!
Man, those few unreleased HHIG songs in this live performance... One of them sounds like Tragedy. What they could of evolved into, l really wish l could of seen the Future albums' cover art and known its name, the track list. What they could of been - more. They sounded like they would of gotten even better somehow.
Came up watching and loving this band. Thanx for uploading this. Still one of my favorite bands.
Any show shot in a basement must be checked out! Cool upload!
Thanks for the upload. Brother Inferior were freaking classic! Great to see this.
Amazing I think I was at this show! <3
well you're clearly in most of the video...
@@90sallagescalgarypunkandha73 took me a minute to recognize myself but yes I am.
