    I’m enjoying the bike so far ruclips.net/user/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA My only real complaints are the brakes and the pedals. I feel like a bike designed for bigger people should have much larger pedals and more heavy duty brakes. I’ve only gotten two really good rides out of it, minimal downhill action, and the brakes feel like they’re already going out. A larger person has more momentum, so I think this wasn’t thought through very well. Also, I wear size 13-14 wide shoes. My feet cramp up on these pedals that are clearly made for smaller feet. Since I’m not a pro rider (and I don’t think many are who purchase this bike) I don’t think that the straps on the pedal are necessary at all. None of this takes away from the enjoyment I get from riding, however. I’ll just head to a bike shop to improve on a few things.

    Wrong…You want your elbow in the pad supporting the weight on your skeleton NOT on your forearm like you are doing. This position is from the 90s your showing… also, you want hands way higher in the same air foil as the head

      Exactly. The flapping at the neck is a tell tale sign. Obviously this vid was more about the fit than the aero but why ride a tri bike with terrible fitting kit

    Good tips no doubt but don't know if chris ever "found that solution" to bike fit/watt output/strategy....in order to improve his [somewhat] poor run times (that cost him IM championships at Kona). Many a biker burns out b4 run.

    I am almost embarrassed to ask this question as I have been riding most of my life . When I am peddaling I have always concentrated on pushing forward only. Am I supposed to be "pulling" back with the alternate foot at the same time?

    • @kargs5krun
      @kargs5krun 6 лет назад

      peeps "do it" both ways; forward n back. Best answer. #circles #spin

      Actually you should be applying force in all 360 degrees and try and make a smooth stroke...this will engage all relevant muscles and you will achieve the most sustained power over longer rides...as you get really good at it it will actually improve the top end power in sprinting as well

    • @moonfruitreilly3
      @moonfruitreilly3 6 лет назад

      Tom Sawyer the jury is out on this one Tom. I don't think it matters very much. I personally think that pushing down/forward is sufficient. studies have found that the pros use this method mainly. pulling back on the upstroke isn't used by the pros. some studies have shown that the rest period even though it may be only fraction of a second is enough for one to place more power into the down/forward stroke and enables one to produce a more powerful and efficient overall transfer of power that one can maintain for a longer period of time.

      Dosages vary but one way to know you're getting the right amount is poke yourself and if your blood is still liquid you gotta increase dosage :)

    hey. i have some problems in my outer shins.. they get sore and "burn" a little .. I always thought its because my toes are pointing to much downwards the whole pedal stroke, now I've red it could be the total opposite - the heel is pointing upwards.. what do you think? or maybe its just an overuse because I'm having some issues with the patella tendon too

    Don't buy Speedplay, they suck. Try standing on two ice cubes, this is what Speedplay pedals feel like. Not a good platform and they can do damage to your knees.

    • @mindciller

      I rode and raced speedplay for years, then switched to shimano and improved, then to keo and improved again. My knees seemed to get better with less float once I was a better rider and knew where my cleats needed to be in regards to the rear of my foot angled in or out
