I get a lump in my throat every time Floor start to sing the first time, then it turns into a banger anthem to tap my feet with. Can't really rate the songs of the album as it's a perfect combination of really good songs. For me this is the best NW album so far.

Well, Michael . . if you love Japan, and love (heavy?) Music, you have found the right place. There are an amazing number of amazing Japanese Metal/Hard Rock bands, many of them all female. Lovebites is my favorite, but they are far from the only one I listen to. This was an older recording (2020) and has their old bassist and founding member, Miho. But Miho quit the band in 2021 and they went on hiatus for awhile during Covid. Hansi, the lead singer only got through the first three books apparently. I don’t recall if he ever mentioned finishing the books. You should give Ride Into Obsession a listen to, with lyrics preferably! It’s another Wheel of Time song. You’ll definitely figure out who the POV is. If you’re interested they also have songs on the Lord of the Rings and Silmarillion (a whole album!!).

Tuomas made those choices on purpose. The music for this record is all about time and the past. There are many call backs to previous songs throughout this record. Tuomas himself has stated that there are many hidden nuggets on the record.

Yes, you are right. Tuomas mentioned in 1 of his shorts; If we of Nightwish Army can find all the Easter Eggs that ere hidden in YESTERWYNDE and the video's. The song is about the journey of life in general and it also represents the (stormy) journey of Nightwish as a band throughout the years. The last part sounds like the 'calm waters' Nightwish is in now. There are some clues in the lyrics. 'Quintet' = the original 5 members and 'retiree' = Marko.

Let's get this straight - NOTHING LIKE BabyMetal. OK? Nothing. Lovebites is a true band, they play all the instruments (extremely well I should add), and write or co-write all their material. Babymetal are performance artists with a backing band. A good one, but still, not at all a true 'band'. EAch has it's place, but Lovebites are easily the best metal band on Earth currently - their twin guitar work (Midori [blonde hair] Miyako [dark hair]) is unquestionably the best out there (try "Set The World On Fire" (live) to really see LBs guitar attack at their peak), Fami on bass is a cute little monster, and 4' 9" Haruna is called "The Big Little Engine" or good reason - all topped off by Asami on vocals and stage commander! You have scratched the surface of a monster that is the Lovebites catalog of 60+ songs none of which will let you down. 🤘🎸🐺

Well you're in luck with Lovebites, because all their songs are in English, unlike almost all the other Japanese bands. So you don't have to learn Japanese, unless you want to.

No, they are much different from Baby Metal. BMetal is corporation created idol metal while Lovebites is a genuin organic band the musicians found each other. They compose, write lyrics, and arrange their own songs, and play those with their instruments. They are coplete band.

Welcome to LOVEBITES 🤘🏼🐺🔥 Here some information about them: The band was formed in 2016 by original bassist Miho and drummer Haruna. Their first EP and album both were released in 2017. So far LOVEBITES have already released 4 full length studio albums, 4 EPs, a best of compilation and a bunch of live albums, available on CD/DVD/Blu-ray. In 2018 LOVEBITES won the Metal Hammer UK Golden Gods Award for best new band. LOVEBITES have toured in Europe back in 2018/2019 and also recently in 2024. This also includes appearances at most European major metal festivals such as Wacken, Download, Bloodstock, Graspop, Resurrection Fest and Hellfest. They also played their first US shows this year in September. In 2021 the band went into a hiatus, because founder and bassist Miho quit the band for personal reasons. During the break also two babies were born. LOVEBITES came back in October 2022 with new bassist Fami and a few months later with new album „Judgement Day“. Their newest release is „LOVEBITES EP II“ with 5 amazing new songs. BABYMETAL is a special entity born from the project “Fusion of Idol and Metal,” and although they are not a metal band in the strict sense of the word, their influence on the stagnant metal scene is still significant. In Japan, band activities have flourished since the Beatles' first concert in Japan about half a century ago. This trend has continued uninterruptedly, and today there are more than 100 female bands alone. One of the top groups among them is Love Bytes. They made their major label debut just six months after their first show, and six months later they performed their first overseas concert in the UK. sorry, but you have some kind of problem with playing the video.

There are more mistakes in the video: The helmsman is standing in the middle of the deck and has no clear view. At one point he is standing next to the ship, the captain's cabin is huge. The biggest mistake: the red crosses on the sails. The ships are supposed to represent English ships. These sails really did exist, but they belong to Portuguese ships. Someone with specialist knowledge should check the videos. But: The album and the singles are great.
