Dog Show Photo Sign Box
A friend who specializes in dog show photography recently asked if we could create a Dog Show Photo Sign Box - how exciting!
This is the small item placed next to the dog in a show photo to document the win. It uses various interchangeable placards to indicate the name of the show and the win, such as “BEST IN SHOW.” He will make the placards for all the classes and titles using standard 10” name plate blanks. We assembled the display with built-in storage to hold all the placards.

Bob Zone - the Grill Master
Просмотров 177Год назад
A fun project for a friend with a new Traeger grill. He wanted some type of BBQ Utensil organizer to hang on the wall nearby - Sheltie themed! This should provide plenty of room to grow - 6 pegs for hanging things such as tongs, forks, spatulas, and mop, etc... Enjoy Bob!
Leash & Collar Display Rack
Просмотров 895Год назад
A fun project to create a Leash & Collar display for a friend. She provided a cabinet door as the medium and said "see what you can do" - my favorite type of project! She wanted photo engravings for each of her 3 dogs, and beyond that we were free to play. Well - I did cheat a little bit this time - and used the laser engraver instead of my usual v-carve process for the portraits. The photo pro...
PJ's Birds - Posable Wooden Bird Sculpture - Behind the Scenes
Просмотров 3012 года назад
A look behind the scenes at the creation of a 4 ft wingspan Posable Wooden Bird Sculpture. Follow along from raw wood onto the CNC router - and then hand work to find the final form. I found it weirdly mediative - curves in every direction - a bit of workshop therapy. ;-}

This project includes a pair of Wooden Bird Sculptures - one with a 3 ft wingspan and the other with a 4 ft wingspan that will be hung in a large room with soaring ceilings. The birds incorporate armature wire to allow the wings to be posed in various phases of flight so that the pose can be updated throughout the year to mark the seasons. A fun project for friends! ;-}

Leash & Collar Display Rack - with custom Photo Engraving Created on behalf of a friend as a gift to their son in-law, this Leash & Collar display rack was inspired by a snapshot of a man and his dog! To do this... I converted the photo to something that approximated a line drawing with Photoshop. The converted image was then dropped into a bitmap layer in VCarve Pro and sized, cropped, and tra...
CNC Sign - The Finish

A simple street sign made from a common Redwood Fence Board. Cross grain vertical back says are included with integrated key slots for mounting. Multiple dimensions come to life as the color pops each level. A quick wash of Timber Oil to seal the surface and it sparkles with vintage appeal.
Branding with LASERS - ORTUR LaserMaster - Laser Engraver
Просмотров 1493 года назад
Quick demo of the Ortur LaserMaster - Laser Engraver. We appreciate the compact portable design and open gantry which means it can engrave objects larger than itself. For small objects we’ve created a base that allows for part registration in both absolute and relative coordinates. For production runs, we create a simple alignment jig for each product to place the part at the center of the lase...
Toy Horse with Movable Legs

Friends with the Carmel Valley Trail & Saddle Club asked if we could help out with a kid's project they had lined up for the upcoming Roundup. They were looking to make some small Toy Horses with Movable Legs - that the youngsters will paint and assemble. Of course we can - what fun! They provided a couple of designs to work from and we brought them into VCarve Pro and cut them out with the Pro...
Horse Bridle Rack

A beautiful and functional 3-dimensinal art piece for the equestrian lover. The horse portrait was engraved on a raised pedestal as a 3-dimensional object to maintain fine detail - with over 10 hours on the CNC machine. Stained by hand for to create a rustic impression of the original photograph. Red Oak body with Maple detail accents and stainless-steel hardware. A fun CNC Router project made ...
Brochure Display Holder - CNC Router Project

Brochure Display Holder to dispense informational flyers - you know - the type of thing that sits near the register in a store. This was a new project request - so here is what we came up with. Designed in VCarve Pro and cut from Oak and Maple on the CNC Router. The Maple legs were glued and screwed to the back half of the shell - with mortise and tenons for alignment. The front & back halves o...
Dog Show Ramp

I had a project request to put together a Dog Show Ramp that was light weight & portable - something that could be used for training. This custom build is essentially a 15” high table - with an integrated ramp that allows the dog to walk up on the table. Once on the table - the dog would be setup by the handler (“stacked”) and then examined by the judge. The walking surface is covered with a so...

Hello Dale Thanks for your video!
Quiero las plantillas o medidas puede ser?
Love it and thanks for the source list...
Are there diy instructions?
mabe a detailed video about the whole project would be superb higher round lower square...? how? would love to learn from you
Nice video but you don’t show any instructions on how to build it
mabe show how to make this and what software you use?
What materials the spacer for tire?
how to order
If the center of gravity is close to the camera, it does not achieve the best result.
Did not show how legs were attached yet movable
The Legs were attached through holes in the body and legs - in this case with paper rivets - you can see them go together in the timelapse starting at about at about 2:20. They could also be attached with- a small screw and nut - and some crafty folks have used buttons on each side sewn together with thread
I don't think Dale is into sharing the vcarve file guys, that's too bad too
On another note it's not rocket science to draw a little car file up and run some tool paths. One can simply draw it on a piece of paper and do a bitmap trace of the car and proceed
@@reloadNshoot wow, well ya, and rebuilding an engine isn't rocket science either, for a mechanic ! What a smarta$$ comment, way da show your colours 🙄
BRILLIANT !!!!!
Maybe cut one or more from aluminum angle "iron". You can pick a larger size piece such as 2" and cut down one with a 3/4" leg or what ever you like. You can cut or route aluminum cleanly with carbide cutters. If you do dovetails you can make some 7:1 angles or whatever from the same materials. You want angle iron that has wall thickness that doesn't taper. And if the interior corner is too rounded over, you can take a triangular file, rub some chalk in the grooves, and file out that corner.
I Absolutely Love this and it’s Perfect!! Thank You!
Do you sell these? Website?
How did you connect the ramp to the table?
Hi There - the ramp is connected to the table with a heavy duty stainless steel piano hinge. The only trick is - the blocking on the end of the ramp where the hinge attaches needs to be beveled to allow the hinge to open past 180 degrees. Hope that helps! ;-} Best Regards Dale
I would like to buy these two birds Let me know how ?
do you sell these? If so how much?
I’m new to cnc. I’ve watched many videos on RUclips on different types of boxes. Yours is the best. I hope someday I can make one like it. Thank you for the inspiration.😊
I came across your video from search results on cnc router dust shoes. I like the clamping system you have. Looks like it just plugs into those holes on the board. A better/wiser solution over using t-nut inserts and cam clamps ive been doing.
What type of bit did you use?
The photo was engraved with a 30 deg engraving bit: amzn.to/3VLuarg A 1/4" ball Nose endmill was used for the texture background, and then 1/16", 1/8", and 1/4" end mills were used to profile, deck, and pocket the text.
What are those clamps? Link please!
Hi Raul, They are Kreg In-Line Clamps - here is a link: amzn.to/2OiZBJ4
Can you make this for me?
Jeez this is so cool and helpful thank you for sharing
You are so welcome!
How do we order one of these tables?
Cnc is not wood working
Agree to disagree. 😉
I want a saddle square too but can't justify the price either. Thanks for showing a way - I have an outside trim too. Got to do this today !! The trimming idea is simply fabulous. Thanks.
Glad to help
Will you make on order?
Did you order a table!
I am really inspired by ur Vid. I have srarted learning from basic. Thank u very much for sharing.
This is wonderful. Thank you very much for sharing
Thank you for the kind words!
thanks for the video, enjoyed watching the process.
Thank you for the kind words - Glad you enjoyed it!
Dale is it possible to get the Autocad file or CNC file for the corner clamps?
are you running linux cnc? great video.
Thanks! Yes - I am running Linux Cnc.
@@OakLines very cool...im getting ready to set up one of my machines on linuxcnc...im a little initimidated...my other two machines are on mach 3....im a huge linux fan in gerneral...so im going to give it a go
great video...nice dust boot...i really enjoy all theluttle upgrades you have done to your machine...are you running linuxcnc....im thinking of switching from mach3....the door sweep is genius...i ended up going to joannes fabric to get some more clear plastic...
thanks, you just saved me from the dowel method. Never liked drilling into my scratch board.
Does the F'ing music need to be so loud!
Yes - yes it does. :-)
Can you tell me how to order one?
Wondering what gcode u are using for poketing , seems that is a bit for dancing , intead of cutting , what is with that all retract of bit , what is the ideea to retract a millling bit from stock in order to cut cut air for all that holes , why u dont engage in more stock with cutter , and what is the cam cad u are using . Tnaks .
I use VCarve Pro. For the holes - this is called pecking. Router bits spin much faster than drill bits - so the idea is to engage the stock with the max cut depth of the end mill (usually half its diameter) and then retract to clear the hole and allow the bit to cool, and repeat. Same general idea for pocketing - cut a layer, retract, move to starting point, engage and repeat.
Did you have to modify the kreg clamps to fit so the it doesn’t hit the bottom spoil board? Thanks.
Yes - I trimmed down the pegs of the kreg clamps so that they would not bottom out into the holes of the pallet. An easy way to do this - create a small blank the same height as the depth of the hole in the pallet - then machine a through hole for the peg. Use this as a cut off guide - set the clamp on one side and let the peg protrude through the hole on the back side - and simply trim the peg flush with a flush trim saw against the back side of the jig. Hope that helps! ;-)
@@OakLines thank you! Did this impact the fiction of the in line clamps? Are you comfortable with only using the inline clamps or do you feel you need downward pressure from a hold down clamp as well?
@@Htxcustom I was initially concerned about this - but they seem to work fine. Remember they are pushing against the fixed back caul which prevents vertical uplift. This arrangement works great until you use thin material which can buckle from side load - then you'll need a different strategy. But for production work with most materials - this is fast and easy - works great! ;-}
@@OakLines thank you so much! That’s all I needed to know. I was tired of having to manually reset the protect price in the zero location and having to use hold downs to do production work. Thank you again!
Can you please make a detailed video about how to convert the picture?
It turned out amazing. We can’t thank you enough for making it.
excellent explanation. thanks for taking the time to do that.
Thank you for the kind words!
So beautiful dear man ❤️
Thank you for the kind words !
Beautiful project mate:)) What cnc machine are you using?
Thanks... The machine is a Probotix Asteroid.
I like that clamping method..where do you get those clamps?
They are Festool Clamping Elements - designed to work with their MFT surfaces. I machined similar holes directly into the MDF pallet and it seems to work pretty well. amzn.to/311TvWF Not perfect - but very flexible and I do like them.
Hi Dale! can you drop me cnc file for this butifle car!
Would you be willing to share or sell your vcarve file?
What size pvc do you use
We used 1" Schedule 80 PVC pipe for the frame and legs.
@@OakLines do you make these ramps to sell? Thx
@@OakLines can you sell me one of these tables?
