HANDICAPPING 101: TOTE BOARD WATCHING
Me as well, one of my favourite episodes. Have the series on dvd, always a delight to dip into it.
That is awesome! Love the DVDs with extras! Thank you for watching!
This is one of my favorite episodes. I liked Doc reading from the actual short story. I never knew the backstory on Corey. You guys make it a fun ride. I told my grandson to listen to The Classic Couch.
Thank you so much for the support. That means so much! Happy you are enjoying the channel. And thanks for recommending us! We will be going live soon to interact more with everyone.
Bill you made my childhood better than what life is now. Happy Birthday. Miss you
I like how you highlight the actors and talk about the other things they have been in. The recasting is a unique take. Ted Danson who may be a bit old for the part would be an interesting Fate.
I watched the Twilight Zone when I was a little girl with my dad. I dont care for much of anything on TV anymore. Buck and Doc are entertaining. The little one liners made me smile, this was an enjoyable hour.
What an interesting comment. The Twilight Zone must bring back such fond memories. One of the reasons why we decided to do what we are doing is to preserve the legacy of Rod Serling . And you are spot on...not much quality on these days. Hope to see you on our next live show.
Had my share of very mediocre beers there in the 80s.
Don't tell me you were a Knickerbocker guy or maybe a Piels guy. I am partial to Mickey's Big Mouth... -----Buck
How about Doc going in the field for work. Did he have his blazer on in the snow..haha kidding.
Hahaha you're not kidding. He had that or his cardigan on..... ------BUCK
Youre welcome
Good stuff guys watched a few so far.
Appreciate the support!
my cousin grew up in Hollywood and said he was the lifeguard at the Roosevelt Hotel when she was a kid.
Thats cool. That place is awesome. I actually was in a Hollywood bowling league at The Roosevelt in the Spare Room. Two lane bowling Alley built in the early 1900's. You ever find yourself there check it out. ----- Buck
That was excellent! Are you doing more? Loved it.
I think so, Tully. Appreciate the kind words.
You both were really funny, boy Doc did not like this one huh! And The Benny Hill music cracks me up when Buck was talking. Best one yet.
I watched the episode last night before watching Buck and Doc. Even after all the previous times I've seen it, I heard something new: the sign of a great piece of art. Frank Overton's casting was perfect. Looks a bit like Gig, has a terrific voice for a monologue. I enjoyed Buck mentioning Peggy Sue Got Married. Underappreciated film. 👍
Buck even got me to rewatch Peggy Sue Got Married. It is really a gem. I forgot how much I liked it. Thanks for watching the episode and then watching us. That's kinda fun. Buck has a great Burgess Meredith for Time Enough. I kind of like mine as well. Stay Tuned...and thanks for watching! Doc
People usually ask "Why didn't Walter just walk out of prison? He couldn't be harmed." My own personal reason is he just didn't think of it. His soul was gone. That's why he didn't derive any excitement from the things he did. He didn't care that his own wife had died right in front of his eyes. And he didn't have the imagination to just walk out of prison. And besides, they could overpower him and chain him up. He was indestructible, not Superman.
That is a really interesting take. I like that. Maybe I would have enjoyed it more if it was one of the hour long ones. Everything felt too rushed. Thank you for watching and commenting. It really means a lot! Doc
ive literally NEVER seen that episode
That's kind of a really cool thing for you. Keep watching. I am pretty sure there maybe one or two that I realized I haven't seen. ---- BUCK
Why are you narrating ? 🤥
Hi Katie, Thanks for watching. We really appreciate it. Buck starts the show with a breakdown of the episode. Then he and Doc banter about it after the breakdown.
Walter was wild for not even changing clothes before the next scam 😂😂😂😂😂
Right! He's so lazy! Thank you for watching!
Lazy man right!
I JUST rewatched this episode. It’s such a comfort watch!
it makes you remember to enjoy life. You are so right.
It goes too quickly. Comfort watch is excellent!
I am an old man and remember watching Twilight Zone as a kid. I like the humor that you both have. I can-tell you are having fun doing it. Unique I like keep it up.
My actual favorite of all the episodes. Saw it when I was young like Opie. Saw it later in my middle years and then again in my golden years. Makes me see my life in that perspective. Look ahead!
What a perspective! Exactly the message, I think. Thank you for sharing, and thank you for watching.
This episode always gets me crying 😭 something about the message and acting combined with the score that never fails to make me cry like a baby. Definitely my go to episode when I need to be reminded not to turn to my past as an escape from my present.
The score is beautiful in Walking Distance. It gives Doc the water works every time he watches as well. Thank you for contributing, and we really appreciate you watching.
What bs.
Walking Distance is one of the best episodes in the series. Not my personal favorite, but a top ten. You guys are unique in your coverage. Dang how much does the Doc love Hitchock? And yes Buck I would love a show on Gig Young he had so many demons, but a hell of an actor.
Tully, thank you for stopping by again! Buck and Doc are very grateful!
Doc knows his stuff, Buck keeps things loose. Sorry I could not stay for the entire show, but I watched the replay this morning. I like where you are going with this, what happens was an original idea, and the re-casting is kind of fun. Can't wait for the next 5.
Thank you for making the effort to stop by. We just really want to continue interacting with the community. Thought going live would be a good way to do it. Appreciate the support.
Me and my girlfriend picked same exact actors from episode 3! That’s interesting! Matt as Denton & we picked Steve for the traveling peddler. Must be something we all see that stands out. Christian Bale is perfect for Shadow Play! A season 2 episode you’ll get to.
All good stuff! Yes, and Christian Bale would be awesome for shadow play! Thanks for watching see you soon.
A timeless classic amazing
Thank you!
That was cool, thanks Doc.
Glad you liked it!
I like your your setup. Very informative and funny.
Thank you ! We are having fun with it.
Soda fountain, not shop, was the preferred nomenclature of the time.
Thank you for the information! Appreciate the insight.
You guys are on a roll. Buck is the man! Yes Ricky Gervais would be perfect, I like your humor. Thanks, as always for the fun facts Doc, you pull a few out that I did not even know!
Hey thanks for watching! Appreciate the support.
Thank you for the support Tully!
The little girl who asks Santa for “a job for my father” later wrote a memoir. She said that at her line, Carney burst into tears, and they had to do the scene again when he recovered.
That is a great story, thank you for watching and sharing! Carney gave his all as Corwin.
Cool concept guys. I like comfortable feel of the show. Aaron Paul would be a good Denton I think, I like maybe Kiefer Sutherland as Fate.
Hey, thank you for the kind words. Great choices and thank you for watching.
You guys are good at this. I like your format..Who are the Actors, what have they been in. ? Who would you like playing it today.... I like DW.Sweeney as Corwin. And Dundee would be the guy who played Al Bundy. Love it
DB Sweeney would be a good one, do you know what he is doing now?
Fun stuff fellas. A new take on a 60 year old show. You guys have a unique perspective. Hope you do more.
Thank You! We are having fun with it.
You guys have a very unique way to go over the episode. I tend to agree with Doc, the older you get the more each episode hits differently. I didn't care for this one as a kid, however now I can appreciate it. I like the humor.
Unique take on a classic show. Good Luck guys. Can't wait for the next one.
Thanks Tully!
Great indepth information on this episode. This one, I think, hits different the more you watch it and the older you become. Yes, Robert Duvall is still alive 😂
Thank you for watching. And so true, it really is a morality play. And thankfully yes we still have Robert Duvall. RIP Paul Sorvino.
This was entertaining and educational.
Refreshing
miss these group discussions from the Triple clowns. got me through covid period! hope all is well.
What happened to you guys? I have not played Delaware Park sinse you stopped covering it. Y'all were the peoples voice. Hope all is well.
This is great stuff guys...need more of it.
Just watched all of your time machines. For young guys you know your stuff. The sport has changed too much for me. Hope to see you do more in the future.
what's wrong with attack angels
Watching all of your 12 Match Races of Christmas this one is really good.
Slew turned out to be a top-class Chef de race stallion.
Secretariat set a record in belmont that stands to this day. Man o war ran in two of the triple crown races he missed one them & think it was kentucky derby.
Great breakdown, This brought me back. Was there at Belmont
Circa 1982 at Golden Gate Fields in a seven horse field there was a four horse entry with a hundred thousand show bet the other three horses finished first second and third Sam Spear had a results show and called the guy who show bet the entry a bridge jumper
I believe secretariat had an abscess under his lip, so that whenever he was pulled or he was told to change lanes or leads whatever he was in pain and he did not do it. It’s not for that and says he would’ve won the wood memorial.
