Fixing The World's Most Expensive Snow Blower (Honda HSS724A)
In this video I am making a modification to a Honda HSS724A snow blower. I find the control system to be inconvenient, so I am making a small change that makes it work better for me.
This modification is 100% reversable. I just removed the original "brake" levers and cables, and replaced them with standard bike brake cables, plus a bracket to connect everything together

Golf Mk7 Single Mass Vs Dual Mass Clutch Sound Comparison (W/ Fluidampr)
Просмотров 22 тыс.4 года назад
This is my attempt of a before and after clutch comparison of the noise we get when upgrading a MK7 with manual transmission to a single mass flywheel. This is the day after my car was upgraded. I got the APR Stage 2 with APR downpipe, and a South Bend Stage 3 Daily clutch. And I had the Fluidampr installed just because it seemed like a good idea. The reason for the upgrade was because I upgrad...
One Lap of the First Track Layout
Просмотров 1696 лет назад
This is a compilation of video clips showing an entire lap of my track. I was going to make this video last year, when I finished building the track, but I never got around to it. And now that I'm planning on changing the layout, I decided today is the day. I'm driving my MBX7R Eco, with the dual rate springs I have been experimenting with. Setting are the same as in the previous videos, except...
MBX7R Eco Standard Spring Vs. Dual Rate Springs
Просмотров 3416 лет назад
(Disclaimer: this video made in Final Cut Pro, b/c I hated the demo of Premier elements. Don't assume that because previous videos have the Adobe Premier banner through the middle, that I must have liked it and decided to continue using it.) In this video I am comparing the standard suspension to a modification where I installed small springs inside the shocks that create a dual rate effect. Wh...
MBX7R ECO Tuning With Shock Oil
Просмотров 5426 лет назад
Now that I have settled on my springs, I am testing shock oils. I started with both stock pistons and the Fioroni 4 ball pistons, but I abandoned the stock pistons after testing 25wt. I noticed the stock pistons gave the appearance of lower ride height on the bench, even though I didn't change the spring perches. This change of ride height is deceptive, because the dynamic ride height isn't cha...
MBX7R eco Testing on Dyno with Shock Oil
Просмотров 1,5 тыс.6 лет назад
This is a comparison between the stock springs and my custom springs, combined with stock pistons and Fioroni 4 ball pistons. In this test I am using Losi 20wt shock oil, but it's a little cool in the shop. This is roughly equivalent to 30wt oil on a warm summer day. Springs are the same as I have used in previous tests. I am not changing suspension geometry, so a bone stock set-up will react a...
MBX7r eco Stock VS Custom Springs
Просмотров 6026 лет назад
Suspension testing continues. In these clips I am running springs only, and the suspension geometry is the same. This is not the stock geometry settings. The first three clips are the stock springs for the MBX7r eco in the stock mounting locations. At the end I compare the stock spring set-up to the custom springs I am currently using. I have the 8.75T 1.6mm front springs, and 11.25T 1.6mm rear...
MBX7R Suspension Dyno Tuning Changes Side By Side
Просмотров 1 тыс.6 лет назад
Now, with better lights and true slow motion! Experimentation with tuning on the suspension dyno. Here I am trying to get consistent suspension movement front and rear. I suspected that the difference could be due to center diff oil, so I shot video with various weights. After seeing little change, I remembered the problems I had with excessive kick-up angle on my stadium truck, and I realized ...
Same springs, no shock oil, thicker center diff oil. (And new lighting equipment!)
Просмотров 3296 лет назад
Now with vastly improved lighting! Use settings to slow down to "slow motion" to see as intended. Captured at 240fps on my phone, and I don't have proper editing software yet. This is same springs as before, balanced chassis, no shock oil, and 10/20/5k diff oils (front/center/rear). The only change is the center diff oil increased from 15K to 20k. The rear tires are still turning slower than th...
Mugen MBX7R on Chassis Dyno, Post Corner Balancing
Просмотров 1316 лет назад
Set player to .25x speed to see clip as intended. In the previous clip, I noticed that the right rear tire is behaving quite differently than the other three. The other three are clearing the gap in the dyno wheel, but the right rear was sometimes riding down the back side of the bump, or coming down and hitting the up slope of the gap. My first theory was that my rear differential was too ligh...
MBX7R on dyno

Video of mbx7r on my new suspension dyno. Set video speed to .25x to see as a slow motion. This was recorded on my cell phone, so apologies for the quality. This was recorded at 240fps, but it appears I will have to edit files so normal speed is slow motion. I am running springs only in the car, so no shock oil. This is to isolate the springs from the shocks, to observe the spring balance. Futu...
Back Yard RC Track Day 5

Progress on my 1/8 scale RC track. Now I have the straight at the bottom hill, the jump sequence up the hill, and the hairpin at the top of the hill. The ski slop down hill section is roughed in, but not packed. I thought this was best, because my trial runs included a lot of crashing! Two things are clear. My buggy needs some set-up changes, and I need simplify the up hill jumps. I think the l...
Back Yard RC Track Progress Day 2

Up hill jump section taking shape. What you don't see is the stump I had to dig out at the base of the top jump! I'm planning to enlarge the first (lowest) jump and add another one below it, making a 4 jump sequence single, double, single. Since I'm heading up hill, I was worried that i wouldn't be able to get enough speed to clear the jump. But as evident in this video, it is even possible to ...

OK, so I just had a slave cylinder go bad in my 2006 GTI before that it wasn’t shifting the greatest so I figured I’d have to replace the clutch the clutch the guy at the shop ordered is a stage two clutch/Dmf kit … when I got the car it was already built. The guy at the shop said there was a SMF already in there but he figured it was a cheaper stage two clutch … now I’m going too stage two dmf ? Will this affect performance and how so ? .

Simple solution; never use the triggers to stop the snowblower from moving -- especially in reverse. That's not what they're there for. If you're backing up - release the fan impeller lever. I have a 928 and another brand of machine and this works. You WILL pin yourself using the triggers to maneuver in close quarters.

  • @paulv22
    @paulv22 Год назад

You should try using an older Honda that didn't have those triggers, but did have a hydrostatic drive. What you would do in that case is use the fore-aft-neutral control to do what you're trying to do. In other words, you're doing it wrong.

What make are you using, reason I ask is that there are some really cheap nasty smf kits out there. There is two makes that have built in dampers to the clutch plate and use a different clutch plate material. On all the one's I have read they could not tell any real difference and they did not rattle like yours.

Me again.. wish you were my neighbor. I used to own a Cub Cadet that if either the drive or auger handle was depressed it would hold both controls which allowed you to use either hand to adjust your chute or transmission. Do you know of any modification that can be done to the Honda blowers to accomplish the same thing? This comes in handy when your turning your blower around both left or right. Sometimes you need to lift your left hand when turning which causes me to stop, turn the chute and then press the drive handle down again.

You should ask yourself why you paid so dam much for a snowblower like that in the first place. Maybe you wanted all the bells and whistles because your too dam lazy to pull a recoil rope to start an engine or plug in a 110 to start it? Or maybe you can't turn a hand crank to adjust the trajectory of your snow chute? Al that new fangled stuff is nice when and if it works, but we all know nothing lasts forever and they new crap is built cheap, so you'll be repairing it alot sooner than the old stuff. I just laugh at people who buy this kinda stuff and then complain when it doesn't do what they want. Boo hoo.

Those handles are not for stopping the machine. It's not a bicycle - it's a snow blower. READ THE MANUAL!!!!

  • @justicecenter
    @justicecenter 2 года назад

You are really over thinking this. The wheel disconnect trigger under each handle are to turn the snowblower. And just like any snowblower you let go of the drive lever to stop the snowblower, shift it and activate the lever again.

M golf r 7.5 makes no noise at idle, but off throttle in 2/3 gear it sounds like a cross between a box of bolts and straight cut gears. Also a lot more vibration at low speeds accelerating in all gears. Upside is it doesn’t slip and I’ve lost a fair chunk of spinning mass. Everything is a compromise….

I agree with your opening statement. Thought mine was going to be amazing over my old Cub Cadet.. I was wrong. The coolest thing about this blower is the electric start and full metal shoot. It is awkward to get used to (even 3 seasons later). The ole Cub Cadet was much easier to run and maintain. Thing I hated about the Cub Cadet was the exhaust shoot would never stay in position plus the engine had no cover so when your blowing into the wind, snow would land back onto the engine / spark plug area.

Awkward video and the steering levers are not for stopping. Operating a hydrostatic drive is much different, and in my opinion, much better than a friction disc machine. Takes some practice but that Honda you have is an excellent machine. I dont’ have the same problems you do with my Honda blowers.
