I just finished the book and can't stop thinking about them! From the moment Robin had the urge to put his hand on Ramy's cheek, I knew he had a crush. Also, the level of anger that Ramy has when he finds out about Robin's involvement in Hermes-- he feels betrayed to a degree that can only be proportionate to people with intense intimacy. I'd agree that their relationship is definitely romantic, even if it never became sexual

As a fellow aro-ace, I loved how platonic love and found family were such deeply anchored themes throughout the book. I've also been reading Ramy and Robin's relationship as romantic, although I think that since they are young, and have honestly had bigger problems to face, they haven't acted on it. And by God is it's heartbreaking when Ramy is killed. But I guess since it's mostly all subtext, It's actually one of the rare cases Where I'd be okay with both, romantic or platonic relationship between the two. Because of the tone of the book, I don't mind their being just friends, they were clearly very important to each other and that's what matters.

I'm so late to this discussion :( I've just finished the book some hours ago and I totally agree with you. Also, there's a scene just after Robin notices there's something changing in Letty and Ramy's relationship that is pretty curious: "But things were decidedly not all right. Things were in fact very weird. Ramy and Letty seemed unable to stand each other, and at the same time, they gravitated around each other (....) Robin found it unbearable. One night, during a fitful burst of sleep, he had a sudden and violent fantasy of pushing Letty into the Cherwell. When he awoke he searched himself for any hint of guilt, but could find none; the thought of Letty drenched and sputtering brought just as much vicious satisfaction in the sober light of day." I definetely smelled some jealousy there lol

i definitely read their relationship as romantic although they never had a chance to act upon it. i was really hoping these two would get a happy ending but unfortunately that was not the case. i still enjoyed reading about their relationship though

So glad you read the passage from the ball. I think the author did a great job of making the reader feel that “electrified” tension. I agree I read it as romantic. And I had hoped once they were living together in the Hermes hideout that they would let themselves be honest with one another. But then he was shot and I almost stopped reading out of spite. Ugh such an amazing book.

I watched the anime many, many years ago and only sort of remember some bits and pieces of it but I remember enjoying it a lot. Thank you for making a video about the sequel! I never knew it existed but it's nice to know what it's about.

Thank you so much for this!! Can I ask you a question? I don’t know if you know the anime Fancy Lala, but there is an untranslated manga that originated it and I can’t find any info on it. The anime ended abruptly (there were 50 episodes planned but the show got cancelled at 26 eps and the ending is very tragic and sad). I wanted to know if the manga gives us a true ending. I don’t know if you’re familiar with any of this but if you know anything at all I’d be forever grateful to you! It was an amazing magical girl show, and as a child I was traumatized by the ending... :)

So instead of leaving Rosemary as a villainess who realized that stealing someone's family and birthright to achieve your dream of becoming a "princess" isn't satisfactory in the slightest when you see how rotten the upper class is, left on her own terms and even earned Nadja's respect... they reintroduced her as a rotten teen that used a scam for her own ambitions as a last f**ck you to Nadja and her found family without them ever knowing. They could've written a new villain, hell, they could've picked ANYONE else, but nooooo~ ...pick up the one character that seemingly learned their lesson and make them sink even lower because "why not?". For someone that wanted to be better that the Duke or her uncle, she sure ended up acting worse than both combined.

I don't know how to feel about Keith's character development here.... Although it might be a set-up for a plot twist eventually (him being financially capable of saving Nadja's theatre later on) or are they actually making him into something like Jean Valjean (treating his workers humanely and fairly, something like that)...

I would like Netflix or someone else's tv adaptation for Nadja's sequel...yes, the audience was intended for children initially, but the contents are of such importance (historical, social, psychological), that I think they deserve a more in depht analysis...which is why I would like to see it played by real actors instead of cartoons. This could also mean more people to know this wonderful show, it deserves so much more recognition! Besides, 15 years have passed, just like other franchises like Harry Potter or Twilight, the audience has grown up with the show, and a "adult" tv adaptation is everything I would like to see...But aside from my impossible dreams, I'd like to say thank you for this video and for being one of the few people active in the fandom! I've read your fan fiction too, they are wonderful!!!<3

This video was very interesting, what you said about the map being “One of the first things I did and one of the last” sounds as if it will be the same for me :) I am just worldbuilding at the moment, I have probably a stupidly large vision of what I want to do with little idea of what I want to do with it, but a sketched map was one of the first things I did, then I drew the same one in photoshop my ideas of what I wanted different kingdoms and duchies and cultures to be began to grow. In the meantime the names and numbers of nations have changed, some countries Ive changed the names of nearly 10 times, and slowly but surely Alesqua is beginning to take shape. I am now making the map again in more detail and in a more realistic style (thanks to discovering the wonders of Mountain and forest brushes for photoshop) and I know that I will probably remake it again or maybe I might find someone might properly draw it out, in who knows, maybe years down the line. Thanks for sharing your map story, this deserves more views for sure. I see what you say about a faceless artist, having no real idea or attachment to your own world which is kind of like a possession almost. This video was posted a month ago but if the contest is still running, I am interested in the e-book. Thanks for sharing your map story, this deserves more views for sure!
