hey guys just dropping another casual video of me just chatting about my two big recent illustrations, I had a lot of fun doing these so i wanted to talk about em! enjoy!!
i feel you, placing features on the face is the hardest part, one little misalignment and it can make your entire drawing look bad
@@FinalStand7 ikr! it can be so difficult lol

Should I try to learn to draw? (Genuine question) I often see art videos like this, or cool animations and really wish I could draw (I cant draw for shit atm, whenever I try its pretty damn discouraging). With AI on the rise and the fact that I also have no way to do digital art (no drawing pad or photoshop), I feel kinda stuck as to whether to try and dive into it or to not. Idk kinda lost on this, curious if you might have any input as a growing artist.
great question, I would say... YES! - it is definitely tough starting out, bc everyone wants their art to be good but obviously they don't have the skills yet lol it's a matter of practice, and most importantly having FUN. draw what you like!! use reference (it's not cheating)!! - I'm an avid AI hater but honestly I just ignore that stuff and continue drawing (we can't really do much about it lol but there's no need to be gloomy over it 👍 do what you love! even if ai is kinda getting scary 😳 ) - rn for you art would be a hobby, so take your time and enjoy the process! (plzzz take ur time, don't think ur in a rush to catch up) - for digital art, there are free softwares to use like Krita (im 99% sure this is a free). Though even if you don't have access to a drawing tablet, you can use your phone or tablet! I've seen plenty of ppl draw like this (but definitely try to save up! there are good, not too expensive ones on amazon, like from wacom/huion) in the end, i recommend watching some beginner artist vids, and figuring out what you wanna draw and remember, you have nothing to lose by trying to learn!! hope my advice helps 😊
@@countryisntgold Thank you so much! It did help, I think ill try drawing later today then. I can maybe use my sisters drawing pad
@@ThatPigeon00 no problem, have fun drawing! 😄
WOW!! this is the most refreshing art content I've seen in so long. It's so nice to see something more authentic, and relatable, that it actually motivated me to practice. I loved!!!! this sm!! Thank you!!!!!
haha im flattered lolll thank you!!!
Yoooo that's a great video ! Beginner artist here, and I'm trying to get better at this too .Ahah it's just soooo hard but it's art so we should not give up ! I think it's cool that you talk about all of these struggles, and what you learn, like for instance, the lasso tool (wich I still don't know how to use ahah cuz I'm lazy and don't want to watch/ read Krita tutorials). This video makes me wanna study some more !
thank you, glad you enjoyed the vid!! ur right, we shouldn't give up! (even if art can be really tough at times loll 😭😭)
@@countryisntgold Yeah. It's ok to take a break sometimes. I guess when it's not a hobby it's different but still. It's important to enjoy what we do. To draw "silly stuff".
Great video! I don't understand shading at all in art so it's nice to see you learn them as well.
thank you! yeah im still trying to figure this shading stuff out loll
This video was very insightful! thank you for sharing your progress with us! ^-^

I had the same plan to practice for a month but I can't stay consistent I always stop after 1 week
consistency really is a tough thing.. I struggle with it too 😭 but give it another try! i think you can do it!!
@@countryisntgold ✌✌✌
this is great man, definitely seeing the improvement and just remember that you can’t make art you love until you make a wholeeee lot of art you hate! the way you’re reaching out and talking to a lot of artist is super cool and it’s clearly making a big difference, also we use a bunch of the same reference pictures haha, god bless pinterest ‼️
ayee thank you so much! yeah reaching out and getting critique made me level up so much, im very thankful for the help! loll pintrest is the goat..
Art Tip: Everything has a shadow.
ohhh, I'll keep that in mind!
absolutely! i started using cast shadows more even in just my sketches, and it can help with composition and framing soooo much. it’s a fun way to make pretty much any drawing more interesting
@@sparrrow3047 yeah!

tis a rare upload... thanks!
Dude, you definantly deserve more attention for the quality of art that you make. Keep doing what you do, and I'll look forward to more from you in the future!
thank you so much!!
IT'S FINALLY HERE! yes I have finally dropped this damn value video lol took me long enough. I had a lot of fun during this time and would totally do it again! but maybe I'd take it a little slower next time... anyways hope you guys enjoy the video!! gonna be talking about that Maki artwork I teased in my last video soon!!!
👍👍👍👍
thank you~~
such a huge improvement! it’s great that you’re compiling and critiquing your art but not being too negative! your reina and the flock of clouds was great haha but that maki at the end is insane! great stuff, your improvement is really showing!
thanks! yeah i try not to be too negative when it comes to my work cuz I really don't HATE anything I make, every artwork is a lesson learned! and I'll be talking more about that maki in a future video soon so stay tuned !!
@@countryisntgold yeah i totally get that, and that’s a sick mindset to have! looking forward to the next video, but since july is about to start are you gonna be joining artfight?
@@tetrastasis i've heard about it and I've seen some vids pop up but I really don't know what it's about lol
@@countryisntgold aw man artfight is super cool, basically it’s a month long art competition that lasts until the end of july between 2 teams. each team gets points by drawing characters from people on the other team, it’s a super wholesome fun “competition” where you draw other people’s characters and people draw yours! also it could be a fun video idea to show your works throughout the event. it also exposes you to a bunch of different kinds of characters you haven’t drawn before! cool stuff : )
@@tetrastasis waittt that actually sounds kinda interesting! i should check this out
great video man! i've never related more to an art video, and it's really inspiring to see someone who is fighting against their brain in like the exact same way i am to become a better artist. im going into my junior year as an art major and the most helpful class i took by far was a live figure drawing class, and having those timed 1/2 minute gesture drawings really helped me force myself to be more confident in my work and get my second-guessing brain out of the way, and it has been my biggest take away from school and i think the way youre incorporating it in your studies is amazing! love your style and im looking forward to your improvement!! : D
ayee thank you so much! I agree, more recently gesture drawings have been really opening my eyes when it comes to being confident in my work! they are so helpful.. and thank you for joining me on this journey!!

Drawing was always fun for me, so I kinda always did, but to most part of my life I just scribble lots of nonsense in paper, because I couldn't focus my attention at class, art also was one of the places I could run when problems arrived on my life, and in some ways still is. When I was a little child I actually tried to copy some stuff, and I would say I had talent. I realy had, but since later on I just never focus on doing, just randomly did on classes or whatever, I never actually got good. Until I decided to try on a digital table, and see how it goes, my first drawing on it, didn't sound like a first time try at all, I could feel how much I enjoyed, and how much I wanted to keep going, this like trigger something on my mind, made me realized that all those times I just did whatever, I actually put effort and enjoyed doing a lot, this opened my mind go greater ambitions, but I "knew" that I would never really be good at art, so I did it just for the fun, and if one day I get good then so be it. But I started to progress real quick, and I wasn't on a good place on my life, so I started to feel like my art was trash, and I was being harder to do whatever it was due to depression, even stuff that I loved like drawing, and it started to combine my frustrations with art, with my lack of motivation and joy, so I ended up stopping totally, giving up on it, until I tried a few times after a while, from time to time, without ever finishing a single one, It was like experiencing that stress all over again. But now I'm trying to get back at it, since I'm better now, and going in my slow pace. Remembering that the most important thing was having fun, to breath life into the characters I created or love, to put effort into something and then see it, even if it's not good, it's at least something. I wouldn't say now a days that my art suck, but I'm very very very very strict whenever it is about myself, I can't accept me failing or being dumb on stuff, so I just have to be perfect, do perfect, not literally a perfect art, but perfect to me, to the skills I know I have... I kinda expects the world from myself, I create this harsh standarts, and having to deconstruct them to be able to go back drawing is being a challenge. But I always loved and always will love drawing, and remembering this is what is making me able to go back
I started enjoying art more when I started looking at art of topics I actually enjoyed. For the longest time I always focused on skill and improving the quality of my own art that I veered off from the fact that I should be enjoying it too. So I started to dabble in fanart again, and it's quite nice!
Yooo bro we have the same name
