This is a Dillon 1050 with a Mark 7 X. I am able to do 2100 rounds per hour. I have the Mark 7 running between 900-1200 per hour for trimming. I also have the bottom swell at 2. I do wet tumble the brass once I am done to knock any burs off the outside of the trimmed case. Hello, can you send me photo manual laser sensor? Practically the laser is never interrupted, because it also reads the die holder head?

    • @keysersoze7758
      @keysersoze7758 4 года назад

      The laser sensor is set to the tip of the projectile on top of the bullet. When the shell plate indexes, the laser must be interrupted by the tip of the bullet or it will stop the press. If it is reading the die holder or the die, then it is way too high.

    I don't have a 1050, but it seems to me that if you have to remove the toolhead to change the shellplate for a cartridge change, you are halfway there on the primer size change anyway. This video makes the 1050 primer change look easier than on the 650 to me.

    Once fired will you have to trim it again?

    • @keysersoze7758
      @keysersoze7758 5 лет назад

      BIG LOU No. That is it. The Dillon Trim Die resizes the case and trims the brass down to the correct length at the same time. It works great!

    • @keysersoze7758
      @keysersoze7758 5 лет назад

      BIG LOU Yes. You will need to trim again after shooting like other rifle cases. However, depending on how short you trim the case , you can get multiple reloads in before trimming again. Since I process my brass before reloading, I send them through the trimmer each time. It doesn’t cause me any extra time to do it.

    Excellent video. Much less of a big deal than forums would make you think. I usually pull the two machine screws that secure the outer housing of the primer magazine, so I don’t have to disturb the clamp, or the primer slide stop. Generally my machine is due for a full clean/lube by the time I need to change primer size, so the time for a change over is really a non-issue.
