incredible pedal ...works perfect with ir's and also as an overdrive pedal😊
Yes! Origin actually has a few free IR's that you can download to go along with the pedal. Works incredible with IRs or in the loop of an amp like we've displayed here. So versatile!
@@buyorborrowmusic yes, the IR's from origin sounds incredible with the pedal ...also have the ua woodrow but in my opinion the deluxe 55 is a bit more musical and easyer do dial in good tones ;)
We look forward to your objective/scientific/comparative review of klon circuits. You clearly have firm opinions. We'd love to learn from your extensive discernment of klon circuits. You've declared the Voyager to be "less than." By all means, put your comparisons in play. Anyone can say A is less than B. Can you audibly example and prove it?
We stand by our opinion. The Voyager Mkii is a great pedal but it doesn't stack up to the leaders in the Klone category. We're working on a Klone shootout video where we will objectively/scientifically/comparatively lay it out. 👨🔬 🔬 🎛 In the meantime, anyone can borrow one of these pedals from us to make their own opinions!
Thanks for explaining how it works. I’m totally knew to the intricacies of amps and pedals.
I’ve been waiting for someone to make this for years. Origin Effects nailed it.
They absolutely nailed it!!
I'm currently shooting out the JHS against a Lil Rat and they can be made to sound super close, but there is something about the original circuit that sounds just a bit more open and a bit more focused and gnarly. I am still loving the JHS as it has so many tones the single Rat doesn't, and is great at low-medium gain tones. I just always feel like I'm missing a bit of the magic when I go for higher gain lead stuff on the JHS vs. the Lil Rat. Haven't figured out exactly what it is, but I noticed it on this demo too. OG Rat is just a bit more open and biting. Great demo!
Yep! The OG is hard to beat and is a little more open. The tradeoffs are small and the options with the Pack Rat are HUGE! But nothing will ever top the sound and response of the OG. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Not sure what you mean by 3 dimensional? But if you surf over to Shawn Tubbs' or Mike Hermans' reviews of this pedal they got infinitely better sounds out of it. Klon's are intentionally nasally. It's what makes them klons. Not every pedal gels with every rig, or player.
Thanks for your thoughts! We're doing a first impressions here. No fancy studio setup or tracks like Shawn or Mike. Those guys are great but we're only trying to capture a raw out-of-the-box application without studio magic. Candidly, in our opinion, this pedal does not stack up against other Klones. What we find "2 dimensional" is that it lacks the frequency range of other Klones (less sparkle and also less low end) as well as feeling generally more compressed. We've compared it to the Warm Audio Centavo as well as the Origin Halcyon Gold and both of the competitors exhibit better dynamics, wider frequency range, more touch sensitivity, and significantly more output volume. No shade to Walrus, this is still a good pedal and will fit well if you want a very mid-heavy focused drive. We love the mid-control. It's just not in the same category as other Klones we've played.
Cool pedal! Would've liked some more variation in your demonstration, though.
Thanks! We were just doing first impressions here on launch day. Stay tuned, we'll try to get more in-depth content on this one up soon!
Killer review
Thanks so much! Easy to review an awesome pedal like this.
Perhaps it is your settings or setup, in most videos and live listening, it is indeed a klone.
Give it a try and see! It's not that it's a bad pedal, but when comparing this to other Klones it's not on the same level as something like the Origin Halcyon Gold or even the J Rocket Archer. It's still a fun pedal, but not our favorite of the bunch.
I would 100% run this on my board, every time Dave fretted about the sound he was getting I was like "yes!" Appreciate the honest take though!
Haha! That's awesome, dude! This is why RUclips is such a great place to chat and discuss. You need to borrow this one and make some content with it!
I think it's your amp it's supposed to be an overdrive pedal.
Lol, right on
Sick Mindforce hat!
I have some doubts. I would be extremely thankful if you clarify them. 1. Can I use the Orange Crush 20RT for home recording? (I want to create some stoner doom style of songs.) I mean to clarify is it good enough for recording? 2. Can the headphone output be directly connected to the audio interface for recording purposes? Can it be used as a substitute for line output? Would the sound be compromised or not? (I don't know, I must be wrong, but I read somewhere that directly connecting amp. to audio interface might be dangerous.?) 3. Plz tell the best way (in general) to record the amps. From what I know there are 4 ways - 1. Mic the amp 2. Amp plugins 3. Line output 4. Usb connectivity from amp to computer. Mic'ing up is most authentic but I have apprehensions an amateur like me might struggle mic'ing up the amp in the bedroom/home recording ? Are the amp plugins really worth it? 4. Last doubt please, can you recommend the best guitar amp. (In general) for stoner doom (Electric Wizard) kind of sound? Which would also be budget friendly. (I live in India, so here everything is super expensive, that's why?) Or, are the amp plugins really a good way to get the desired tone. Plz, I really need an expert advice for all these. I live in India, so I have no one to give me advices. Please help me.
Hey! That's A LOT of information you are asking for but we will do our best to summarize answers. 1.) Yes, you can definitely use this amp for home recording and it would work well for doom / stoner sounds 2.) Would not recommend using the headphone out to record. 3.) This question has a million possible answers. We'd recommend watching some videos specifically on this topic as there are many techniques and individual results will depend on what you want to accomplish. 4.) There is no right answer to what's "the best amp" for any genre. Orange is very well known for their sound in stoner / doom but they are one of many options. Hope this helps!
I wasn’t able to find an answer in the FAQs but do y’all do business in Canada?
Hey! Thanks so much for asking. Unfortunately, we are US only at this time.
Love my pedal. It's not this one, it's the malee and I wouldn't take anything for it.
The Melee is so much fun. The joystick is the best part!
@@buyorborrowmusic agree!! But more than anything, I love the reverbs! I put it in it's box and put it up, hadn't used it in a few months. Got it out a few days ago and nothing! No sound whatsoever is coming from the pedal. I'm so sad about it because I love my pedal! I also paid 300 bucks for it.
@@Squirrel-i6u oh noooo. You need to contact Walrus about that. They provide a lifetime warranty on their pedals and usually get things fixed very quickly. We've been partners with them for several years and they've always been very quick to repair issues, most always at no cost. Drop them a message and get that Melee back to life!
True its a rock machine but i think it does great clean tones too. Not sure it would cut it at gig volume though.
The cleans are pretty good. Likely wouldn't keep up in a live mix. It's really a crunch machine at its core.
Is the Orange Crush 20 1 x 8-inch 20-watt Combo Amp good?
Absolutely! It's basically the same amp but without reverb or a tuner. Very solid value if you don't need the extra features. Check them out on our site, we have several in stock. Ping us on our chatbot and mention this message to get a discount offer code. Thanks!
Hey which would you suggest for a starter amp? Orange 20RT or Marshall MG15??
Both are good amps but we would argue that the Orange is a better value overall. Arguably better quality and tone as well. Nothing wrong with the MG15, still a solid little amp. But toe to toe we'd give the win to the Orange.
@@buyorborrowmusic Awesome thanks for the advice!!
@@MrCloudss absolutely! Anytime. If you want to check out the Orange before buying, you might consider signing up for our Pro plan and borrowing it. $39 gets your hands on the Orange with no commitments. Best wishes on your search!
I just played a show with a Micro Terror through a 2x12 and an all Keeley pedalboard and it pulled it of just fine. Granted, by the end of the night, the volume was pushed to 3 o'clock, but It sounded great and did the job.
That's awesome! Those little pedal / amps are absolutely amazing.
Great interview, very nice to hear insight into Jamie and EQD🤘
glad you enjoyed it!
Wish they'd make an instrument 2, the instrument 1 is nearly 10 years old. These recent devices seem like toys in comparison.
The Orba and the Chorda are definitely for the more "music curious" but they do a good job of inviting those who are just beginning their music journey. Or for those who just want fun, portable inspiration machines. But fingers cross for Instrument 2 soon!
Origin make the best drives in the business. No doubt.
absolutely
That crush 20RT is a tiny monster. I have one. I LOVE IT! 😭
They definitely punch above their weight class for sure!
Great video, thanks guys. EQD has quickly become my favorite pedal company. My last 2 purchases were an older EQD pedal (Night Wire) and the new Silos and they pair extremely well together. They both sound great on their own but I’m getting some killer tones with them on at the same time. Looking forward to adding the Ledges and Aurelius in the near future.
Nice! Glad you enjoyed the chat with Jamie! The Ledges, Aurelius, and the Silos are a trifecta of awesome. Such powerful pedals but with such simple, straightforward design. They are some of our favorite all-around pedals.
EQD forever!
Haha, yes
Yeah, but it’s ugly
U need distortion to c what it can do an sound
Their concert at the Atascadero Mental Hospital is epic Bad quality video but it’s amazing to watch their interactions with the audience
Their concerts were epic! We'll have to revisit the Atascadero show, thanks for sharing!
Can't fault the Crush 20RT! I bought one as my main combo late last year - and use it for playing the local music clubs and when our little (pensioner) group goes out entertaining. It also drowns out the rest of the group who have Nu-X 50W combos....... and I love playing jazz and blues through it! Never needed to go beyond about 3 1/2... it's a glorious beast of an amp - and I'll be using it for a very long time - and it's very light, which is important at my age!
It really is a beast of an amp and very underestimated! No surprise that you can keep up with a full band. Thanks for sharing!
I got the Super Crush 100, it sounds amazing and is even cheaper than the OR15. It's really versatile.
haha, stay tuned for a video soon about the Super Crush. It is quite a gem as well 💎
@@buyorborrowmusic That's good news, it sounds amazing, there's no tube maintenance to worry about and the price is amazing. The dirty channel is designed gain staged like a tube amp just with jfets instead. The clean channel lacks a bright cap so it's really neutral and takes pedals like a champ. I love the thing.
I just purchased a Super Crush 100 as well and really does kick ass!
@@crazeyjoe Nice brother! Enjoy!!

This with greenbacks. Absolute bliss
totally agree! Those clips were captured with a 4x12 Marshall cab with G12H heritage greenbacks. 😎
Find an older, English made Orange Rocker 30. Versatile. Sounds great. Affordable.
The Rocker 30s are great. We focused on new products for this video since many entry-level buyers want to purchase new. But there are many great options on the used market if you're willing to do some digging.
I know they say micro stamp can sound very high volume when distorted but what about clean? Is clean loud enough to keep up with the drums?
Good question! Fast forward to the 5:00 mark and we talk about the clean sound and do a demo. Short story, there's not a lot of clean headroom on this pedal. You can get it relatively clean, but the volume is rather low. As you turn up the gain though, there is more than enough power in this pedal to keep up with drums at a live gig. If you're interested in a micro sized amp that can get more headroom, check out the Orange Pedal Baby. You'll need to run something in front of it as a preamp (could be a modeler or another preamp-style pedal) but that would give you plenty of clean headroom in a very small package. We stock the Orange Pedal Baby as well, so if you want to check it out, sign up for our Pro plan and you can borrow it for $39!
What were you outputting the Stamp into? It sounded like a cellphone at full volume?
Good question! We were running the Stamp into a 1960B Marshall 4x12 with Vintage 30s (you can see it behind in the shot). It was mic'd with a SM57 about 1 inch to the left of the dust cap, right on the grill cloth. At full volume, the Stamp clipped the preamp (we were using a Focusrite Clarett) and did sound a bit distorted do to the the high volume in the room. The little Stamp packs quite the punch!
Just found the channel. Video quality and information is excellent, can’t wait to see the channel grow.
Thanks so much! Really appreciate your kind words.
Love the Orange Stamp, was surprised how much of a punch that little pedal/amp has!!
I know right?!? The hard thing to convey via a video is just how powerful and loud it is in the room. It's a beast to be so tiny.
@@buyorborrowmusic yes!!!!
I adore mine and have played it into all sorts of cabinets and cabinet simulators. Kept up with a metal jam with it plugged into a Marshall 4x12, but it still sounds powerful through the orange 8” cab.
hi from Russia

why do you have your molloc shirt on
Stick to a chorus pedal dude, leave the onward for adventurous players….
The thing is, I wouldn’t call most of the Chase Bliss demos on RUclips particularly adventurous. Usually they’re full of extremely dull ideas being fixed by the pedal. When somebody is relying on ‘happy accidents’, I don’t know how adventurous that really makes them. And I’m saying this as a fan of their pedals. But they do not attract exclusively brave musicians by any means, so your rude comment is a bit of a daft one.
@@DoglessEndeavor 🎯 👏

can you compare FET with DELUXE?
we'll try to get a comparison vid up soon!
Does it sound musical
Depends on how you dial it in. It has some mild settings but most tones are rather extreme. If you want to try one out you can borrow one from us.
@@buyorborrowmusic I got one with my credit card rewards lol!. It has potential as was able to mix it with another pedal like reverb. on EQD side that sound is extreme... studio use only
Nice! Congrats on the new gear and enjoy!
Too expensive and it does not have a "mix" or "blend" knob. Still living in 1967 😢
Yeah, pedals are getting more expensive. That's why we started our business, to give people a more affordable way to access gear. This one is not for everyone, but it sure can make some fun noises!
