It's not for ventilation it's to cook marshmallows earnestly cause back.in my day in the 1930's that's what we did cooked marshmallows at house fire's
Nice work.
hey i was just curious what gloves you use?
Only have one negative thing, sound the roof before you step on that roof. Besides that, good fight.
I remember I also caught my first job back in January, and back then my Ladder responded, if my engine did then I would’ve tagged the hydrant and sent the water but yeah once we got reports of smoke showing before arriving on location, the guy next to me told me to empty every ladder off the truck once we landed, and after we threw ladders I didn’t really know what else to do, I learned one thing! For the time being when I currently don’t have my Fire one which I am close to earning, Always find something productive to do on the fireground, something I can actually help out with on the outside unless I am told otherwise by an officer!
GO GET'EM BROTHERSSSSSSS
Our fire dept has fire police and city auxiliary officers prob woulda been useful in this video for the people so close to this fire
No it would have been less effective in the rescue attempts having someone pull up in a cop car does very little but get in the way when they aren’t prepared for rescue operations.
Prob should been more safety officers?
The fire was next door to the fire house less than a 30 second response. How are you going to place a safety officer when you have confirmed entrapment of two kids? Would love to hear your justification.
I wonder what the cause was with it being so well off on arrival?
Great work, you knew your job and did it perfectly, probably should’ve sounded roof, but I think you were aware of the conditions and made a situation based decision. Also, sweet rig, very well equipped backseat and nice having the ladder ready with a hook.
Hell yeah brothers! JOBTOWN!!!
What gloves are you wearing??
Any places hire part time down there?
Is this page Columbia fd or irmo or both
That much fire put out in less than 10 minutes finally a real fire department
Nice job folks, clean and fast.
this is some GREAT vent work here! great job boys.
Aggressive move on the water can, damn.
Thank you for what you do!
Holy crap that was a world record primary search. Maybe slow down just a wee bit.
Had two kids trapped no time to be slow
Love the logo what dept is this
Put your freaking seatbelts on. Please!
Neva
Good communication
Going on air last second… YES I love it thank you brother!
Seeing competence like this warms my fkn heart
Quality video
Yeahhhh fuck that fire up!!!
I don’t know where you are but stay cool brother it’s hot in the south right. I had a structure fire when it was 107 it was awful
Just started doing volunteer fire fighting and I'm really nervous about doing the essentials training, any tips on what to learn first and what to practice? Also, love the camera work!
I can’t stand other FFs standing around just watching something going down. There is always work on the ground to get done. Get to it. Loving the fire cam!
Get some! Can't handle me son!
Just look at all the damage that was done. Either way, the house is a total loss.
Well!! Maybe cutting holes in the roof would vent. First would be to enter with a 2 and half inch line with a straight stream and fog nozzle. Then if needed, cut the roof. Or just let it burn just because some firefighters don't really know how to put OUT a fire.
Are you dumb dude it’s a 1200 sq foot house a 2 1/2 you must be the meth head we ran earlier.
I mean at that point is it even worth putting out the fire, it’s not like anything is salvageable
Idk burn your house and see what you want saved?
You guys have the biggest balls. There's no way I could do that for a living
These guys are worth every penny of our tax dollars. Support them. Defund police and give that money to Fire/EMS. They dont randomly kill black people. They actually save lives
I am curious on everyone’s thoughts. Seeing that there is a ridge vent. Wouldn’t it be a good idea to pull it and see trusses? Then cuts would be easier. Solid work regardless.
If you know construction and you have trained on how to identify the rafters it should not matter the saw will do most of the identifying for you when it rolls over the rafters. Pulling the ridge vent is wasted effort and time which is unnecessary.
This dude is a bad ass. 🤪
What camera is being used?
Good quick hole, when the smoke oozes instead of pumping, you know the hole is big enough...Then go over to other side of the peak and hide from the IC...lol
im curious why are u hiding random spots? is it bc its telling where ur at or somthing?
Late to this party, but I have to say this could be used as a “how to do it right” training video. (Well, maybe the lack of sounding the roof was a little cavalier... 😏) Starting the saw before setting the second ladder is smart as it warms the engine while idling and the potential for problems is reduced. Vent holes cut, with inspection, then off the roof. All of this accomplished in 6 minutes from arrival! Textbook. Then inside for overhaul. The attack crews had serious fire to deal with and it was knocked during that same 6 minute period. What I see is a well led and well trained department. Everyone knows their job and performed it with prejudice. Great job!
Damn! Very Sad hope the family is all okay

Only thing I saw that was fuckin scary was how close you were to the tire when you hit it with the hose. Nonetheless, a job well done.
Those carbide chains eat
Great stuff. I am curious what your protocol is with EV fires. I hear those are a different beast entirely.
Slow your breathing brother, I always tried to think of a song in my head to control my breathing
I used less than 500 psi of air lol🤣
WOW!! Those guys on the ladder truck knew there job and how important there job is to get up there and get that skylight cut and open up to get all that hot smoke and gas off there Eng. Buddies. That was GREAT TEAM WORK!! And placing the ladder around back for a Secondary escape plan 👍👏
Very aggressive, but organized. Well done!
