Watched the replay. Enjoyed the stream especially the NDI Rant. You definitely have to change the thumbnail!
I will do that when I have a free moment.
Actually. that IS a very small base for a 100 meter tower - but being a guyed tower helps a lot.
Yeah, I thought the same thing.
ERP refers to how the antenna DIRECTS the power that the transmitter emits. Thee is no "combination" involved. More power gets radiated to specific areas (with the intent of more power to where the listeners/watchers are), less to areas where they are NOT - like straight up or down.
ERP is equal to the input power to the antenna (which is transmitter output power minus line loss) multiplied by the gain of the antenna. Technically this measurement is only the signal strength along the main lobe but that is more advanced then most people need/want to know.
Is that a mixer mount?
Yes, the mixer is mounted on an arm. I don't know the model number.
Man those filters could use a cleaning.
I have replaced them several times since this was taken
Hi, You post very nice videos on ffmpeg. Keep watching... Btw can you please make a video that how to compile/build ffmpeg 32bit with NDI (Newtek) support on Windows? NDI is the only futuristic network streaming protocol with very low latency. None of the existing tutorial works.
Do you know if they are compatible? FFMPEG is designed to have BM built into it so FFMPEG would have to build in NDI support as well.
@@TVJAYfrom ffmpeg n4. X to n5. X the NDI works, later on due to some dispute with Newtek, ffmpeg removed the support of NDI. But still some people build older version of ffmpeg with NDI. If you search for NDI pattch for ffmpeg you will find it. Me too love NDI support on ffmpeg.
Should do a video tour of KJOY 98.3 radio tower
I don't have access to that site
Very cool stream Jay!
Thank you
the station at my college uses this
I hear a lot of colleges use it
I get why you said that wget is for downloading stuff on the internet, but it’s actually a web browser.
Watching Tuesday.
Thank you!
I assume you're using wireless camera transmitters to get the video back to the trailer but how are you getting the audio from the broadcasters back to the trailer? Awesome setup BTW
The talent is inside with a mixer (that also feeds radio) and there is an audio cable that brings the audio out to the trailer.
Fantastic thanks. Around 1968 I worked at a university TV studio with video recorders the size of a small IBM mainframe. Times changed rapidly during my life with miniaturization.
When I first started in TV (21 years ago), we had 1 inch tape machines and they were the size of refrigerators. We used them every day for about 2 years and then we got rid of them.
How did you get jack points rivendell_0: playout_0L ?

@@TVJAY What is you graphic software name plz
@@AdeLAmir it is called Production Truck but I wouldn't recommend it
@@TVJAY Ahh ok Im using vmix Gfx i design with GT Title & control with utc
@AdeLAmir I would like to do that except our league mandates their graphic package on Production Truck
The Grandstream GCC series contains router/firewall/pbx all mixed into one box. Very decent pricing as well.
Good to know. Thank you for the feedback!
Hey Jay, Great stream! Yes, I'm a huge fan of Grandstream products. I switched from a self-hosted FreePBX box which was a nightmare to manage to a Grandstream UCM6302 On-premise PBX. The UI is so clean and easy to use. Although, coming from FreePBX I guess anything would be an improvement. But honestly, the UI is outstanding. The 6302 does video calls and meetings as well. There are several models in the UCM6300 Series. There is an "A" series, hence UCM6301A, 6302A etc. The A series is basically the same box just an "audio only" PBX. Grandstream does have a CloudUCM but I don't believe it's free. Visit myucm.cloud/clouducm/ for more info.
Thank you for watching and the feedback.
Great stream! Sorry I missed it. Just watched the VOD. I have a smaller ecoflow and it’s awesome. Now you’re tempting me to buy the bigger version.
I was very impressed with what I saw during the stream. I can't wait to do more testing next week.
Watched the replay. Awesome live demonstration of the EcoFlow. Now I don’t have to read the directions for mine lol. Thx.
Thanks for the feedback
This is so much simpler than the atem switcher hyperdeck builds
I find it way more flexible too.
@@TVJAY do you mind sharing the specs for the dedicated vimix pc
Always seems like the bad things come in threes when a day goes south. Anyway, glad you went with carpet squares and vinyl molding down in the basement. -VT Scalawag
I am very happy with our decision. Thanks for watching!

I will try and get back to them, especially now that there is a new version out.
please do it with sll and domain name
I will add it to my list
this looks magical
Thank you. Unfortunately it is not used very often.
Here is another vote for an updated tour... also, I'd be curious to hear more about the two MT boxes and their specs for what they're doing.
I will make one soon, once my basement gets out back together after the flood.
Very cool
Thanks for watching
Enjoy!
Thank you
I am curious if you liked this type of stream, please let me know in the comments.
Interesting story, Jay. So glad you didn't become part of that news story!
Me too! Thanks for watching.
Hey could you share the diagram of the entire broadcast set up? I would love to see it and design something similar to that of my school. Thanks.
I will have to work on one. Maybe I will do that during the next live stream.
@@TVJAY Thanks
I'd climb that.
I personally couldn't do it
Enjoyed the stream. I always felt 1 hour is the sweet spot for keeping folks engaged. Great job!
Thank you for the feedback
You haz fans, Jay B.!
Thank you!
Hello. I have a question please. One of the local FM stations here in Tampa is run out of the University, and I notice the radiators are placed halfway up the antenna. Why not mount them at the top? Thank you.
It really depends and could be one of the following.... 1) The top of the tower is already used for something else. 2) They are renting the space and the higher up you go, the more it cost. 3) The tower was rebuilt and the license could not be modified. 4) The license was moved and based on the equipment the station owned that is the what made the most sense. 5) The coverage area isn't that big so they did not need to go all the way up to get the coverage they were allocated.
So you're the "engineer"?
Yes
Live stream snippet = great idea!
Thank you
Fun stream Jay. My HVAC system at home struggles to keep my studio cooled during the warmer weather. We did a live show this past Monday night, the room got to 85 degrees. The thermostat set temp was set to 76.
Thanks for watching. I took a bunch of photos today so I will share what our HVAC and power system looks like next week. In other words I plan on doing a virtual tour of the transmitter site.
Hey Jay, finally got around to watching the replay, great stream. Thoroughly enjoyed the topic! Yeah, the static noise seems to happen right around when the At&T Hotspot fired up.
That was so weird and very unexpected
Sorry missed it tonight.
I know it doesn't work with your schedule
If you think I should dig into Minio or decentralized storage, please leave a comment.
Cool tour!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it
Please how do i connect a camera for Live streaming on vmix
You would need to use a capture device. I prefer BlackMagic DUO 2 cards. They are designed to go inside a full size PC. If you only have a laptop then you would have to use some sort of USB 3 or Thunderbolt converter.
