Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) measures surface topography using a physical probe that interacts with the sample, providing data on non-conductive and conductive materials. In contrast, Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM) uses quantum tunneling current, requiring conductive samples and offering higher resolution for atomic-scale imaging
BT21CME063_LAVUDYA GOVARDHAN-Could you clarify what are the movable parts in AFM, because in working ,u explained how Controller detects and send signal to Piezoelectric, so that the laser gets to the center of photodiode, but here as you said Cantilever Tip is moving, just clarify that the controller adjusts the piezoelectric tube or the sample or the Cantilever Tip for getting laser in the center.
Piezoelectric tube moves due to feed back....and cantilever move because of attraction between atoms, so when the movement increases than the set point, piezoelectric tube get shifted in such way that it again set to the previous set point

BT 21CME067 _Achal kannake How does an AFM compare to a scanning tunneling microscope (STM)?

Very good explanation 👏👏🙌
Concise and precise explanation.

Very Informative ....
