Johnston Canyon Upper Fall Ice Climbing
Просмотров 3032 года назад
Johnston Canyon Upper Fall is one of the best ice climbing routes in Banff Alberta. The grade for this route is WI 5, quite vertical and strenuous route! On Jan. 31, 2022, it was actually my third time ever tried ice climbing and out of surprise to my friends, I was able to get to the top. It was challenging but very rewarding after the climb! We will definitely try more ice climbing routes thi...

Sunshine Ski Resort In Banff is definitely the most gorgeous place to ski at! It is so friendly for all skiers at any ski level. I went on all of the chairlift and the views were breathtaking! In this vlog, I introduced most of the chairli...

    how do you manage to such a big group to hike with you? with this kind of difficulty, i always go solo cuz i just can't find anyone else to hike with me. people think i am crazy to go solo but nothing can stop me from gorgeous views. i live in seattle and planning to do moderate to difficult hike in Canadian Rockies toward the end of summer after Glacier National Park in US. discover you on YT days ago while putting a 2 week itinerary together. you have given me lots of idea. i have castle mtn, devil's thumb, sunshine meadows. now adding observation peak. (i probably won't summit like you did if i don't see anyone else to tag along on the trail for my own safety.)

    do you start at castle lookout trailhead or rockbound lake trail? i would be very happy to just get to where 3:58 is but not sure where it is on google map. could it be castle mountain lookout or is it the end of roundrock lake trail. the view is absolutely beautiful but not sure where it is.

    Butt-scooting is NOT safer. It may feel better to see where you're going, but if you need to grab a hold you're facing the wrong way, and can't get your body as tight to the wall so if you start to fall, you're more like to tip out and tumble, rather than sliding with hands and feet slowing you down. Just a PSA

    • @kaylaslifeincanada6321
      @kaylaslifeincanada6321 2 года назад

      Thanks for the tips! Walking on a narrow ridge is scary for me and lots of hikers as well. This hike is one of the scary hikes that I did. Like what you said, you really have to be able to grab a hold. The mental part plays a big role for sure. I broke my collarbone skiing in February and couldn’t do any trails since then. Really excited to be able to go back to what I enjoyed soon! Because of the accident and having the fear of getting hurt again, I’m going to explore more safer trails this year. 🙂
