My father recently purchased a Microsoft Authorized Refurbished Dell Optiplex 7040 SFF with the same issue straight out of the box from Best Buy. After checking the owner's manual it pointed to a memory problem from the blinking amber lights. I took out one of the 8 GB DDR4 ram sticks and it booted up nicely. I was confused as to how this computer passed the stringent quality standards of a refurbished product and was shipped out to a customer. These memory sticks are cheap anyway. Nice walkthrough man. 👍🏼

I have either an earlier version of the pump or an earlier version of the American Maid jugs because this method doesn't work. After removing the gasket the pump will only fit loosely on the neck after tightening down, it flops around without sealing; and with the gasket in place the pump won't fit down over the neck far enough to get a grip. I purchased the pump about 8-10 years ago with the bottles Walmart used to sell; they have the smaller 2" neck that fits the adapter that comes with the pump. While that setup still works those jugs are getting old & discolored & should be replaced; I can't find that size jug locally anymore so my 3 AM bottles are currently useless unless I take a chance and buy the current pump. OR I can look for a thinner O-ring to replace the gasket to make it fit.

I have the same problem in my dell laptop i3 the battery is zero and whenever i connect it to power it blinks orange light continuously...and battery won't charge and if i turn off power supply the laptop switches off....... Pls reply how to repair it....

Now I'll try on the 3 galling water jug. Not sure why AM manufactured with different top size when do many accessories are a universal size. But thanks to you I have resolve to my problem. I personally ran into the same issue the other day with a Dell optiplex model. The PC wouldn't startup but would Flash Amber and beep once. I started by powering down the PC and removing the IEC cable. Removed both Ram and cleaned off the pins with a pencil eraser. 2ndly, Taking out the old CMOS battery and replacing with a brand new CR2032 battery. Before plugging back in the IEC cable, drain all the power from motherboard by holding the power button for 15 seconds. After completing those steps, I turned the PC back on and it power Cycled 2-3 times. Then everything came back online with no problem. I hope these steps help for anyone currently dealing with this issue. Keep in mind, the amber light will flash in specific patterns to give you a better idea of what's wrong with the machine. You can also power the machine on without the Ram installed and it will beep a specific amount of times to let you know that the motherboard is working. :)

I'll also join the club,,,,bought the bottle first,,,then to lowes for the pump,,,I guess primo exclusively designs thier bottles JUST for this pump,,,and no other manual pumps , fit the wal mart maid pump,,,,that I could find anywhere,,,,youd figure walmart would make a compatable pump,,,,,there are cheesy "universal", pumps, online, that claim they'll fit the screw top, maids, but they look marginally adaptable,,,so I tried your hack,,,it does work,,,but the gasket is key, for the hydraulics, to work, optimally,,,,but it absolutely, is functional, with the mod,,,,and it's not exactly easy, to get off, when done, so I can tell, it's not gonna last long,,,but I am totally thankful, like everyone else, for you posting this,,,at least we'll get a little use of this thing, before it disintegrates,,,,thanks again, bro,,,,,😎

Thank you for this. I have the AmericanMaid bottles as well and bought the Primo manual pump, but returned it after I couldn't get it to fit. I did find a pump on Amazon that seems to work well with various bottles (2-6 gallon), including the AmericanMaid ones. I will get the Primo again and try what you did.

I made the same mistake everyone else in the comments but I bought the push button pump without the handle and this mod still works...however...the straw for the pump immediately fell out and is floating inside the bottle and it flipped sideways beneath the neck and I can't get it out 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️
