Thank you to those of you that make it to this point. Our second consecutive long-run format Total War playthrough. What would you folks like next?

Any chance you can tell me what mods you're using please? Bought shogun 2 years ago and never really played it and these mods look really interesting!

So the question remains, where do we make our landing on the mainland? Is Kyoto our goal just now or do we look to consolidate a strong point?

For complete transparency, we restarted after about 60/70 minutes of gameplay as everyone, and I really do mean everyone turned on us. Our Vassals, Allies you name it. We foguth the final siege at our capital with around 1800 men vs 7000+ and almost won. But sadly it was a quick restart which is why things might not seem so consitent at the start. Just a regular Otomo game...

Nice vid, liked it. Can you tell me please where to get the mods you are playing with? i am not good with this kind of stuff and i would like to play Empire again since it was one of my first games and i played countless hours of it so i am tired of vanilla

Sad I have more time invested in Empire Total War then those who spend time studying for the Bar exam

I found that shooting at the ground with cannons is better than targeting a unit because they will usually aim for the flanks and miss most of the time Also never ever charge your cav through your infantry, you almost killed your entire unit of line infantry during that battle against Denmark

I have never done the legendary building thingy, will it tear down the sigtuna church? that makes me not want to put it in the capitol but as close to it as possible - I would go feudal so fast. just to get some better buildings going, and you know, money is good

Do you not have a pressed claim on Norway after they left your warm embrace? and you might not need to destroy it, just change it from elective to wassaname your children gets it. might cost less prestige and your Norwegian subjects wont be as pissed.. The struggle of British vs Russia although we know based on recent events their tanks aren’t that indestructible 😅 gaijin being gaijn

Ship combat and controls changed around for 3.23. Your ship only has weapons and shields in SCM mode and moves slower than in NAV mode which also enables Quantum travel. Weapons also changed. Weapons fire in a cone spread pattern so you have to be closer to targets to do any serious damage. It was taking forever to kill targets because you were out of range or at max range. They slowed down combat speeds so fights happen at 300-600m range. When the target lead pip is red you are out of range and do 0 damage. When it turns green you are in range but 1.2 - 1.5km is considered max range on most weapons and does reduced damage from the spread. A rule of thumb is half your max weapons range is the end of optimal damage and falls of fast with range. If the ship is large your cone fire spread will allow max damage farther out. Right now everyone is relearning flight combat.

Hello! I would like to know If the Divide et Impera mod is currently only 3 parts to download, and if is necessary to uses the Mod Manager for the Mod works correctly, not only for Rome 2, but for the other recents Total War games.

Damn, mighty shame. But had been a fun series. Cheers. Would be keen to see you do another immersion run where you stay smaller and play tall. Much easier to keep the immersion going and keep a focus on characters.

A belated comment here but since most all of these tips are still pretty much spot on 7 months later and still very useful for the beginner I shall proceed regardless. Firstly the white fog advice is no longer really applicable as stated here. You need to take on spirit animal fights to obtain white leather which you need for craft third tier gear. Once you have obtained enough knowledge points to start learning tier 3 weapons and armour you should be high enough level to take on spririt animals and there is a trick to being able to beat them effectively. Secondly the advice to limit your party size is based on "free play" mode in which enemies are always scaled to your party. There is now another mode called "region locked" which fixes the levels of mobs by location, they are not affected by the size or level of your party, so region locked mode plays very differently and the size of your party is mainly dictated by your ability to pay their wages and feed than than anything else. This mode open up the possibility of a more trading focused start where via weight of numbers you can force your way through to the two adjoining regions early on and make oodles of money shipping trade goods.

I really messed up and might start a new save since I have an animal army at the moment that takes a ton of food and does minimal damage. My pig, for example can only go toe-to-hoof with archers and anything else two-shots it, so it's near useless. I didn't know how to scaling worked so I thought building up via animals was a good idea.

For some reason YT is pushing this and the errors and terrible flow is killing me, Gonna do some with the recent Rome II DeI campaign!

I thought for sure this was it for you if not for your allies its crazy how this single aspect of the game will make or break an empire. Also are you not able to take out loans or seek money other then raids? Also is there some type of passing of the torch if you will that doesn't lead to so much death and civil war?

So why are you not making as much as your father was? You own more land and have upgraded much and yet it seems like your father was making double what you are now.
