Fiora does make a decent replacement for Florina but you also have the option of Farina But overall Fiora is a good pick for a peg knight

Fiora is probably the best Pegasus Knight in the Blazing Blade, especially if you start right in Eliwood or Hector's tale. If you start in Lyn mode though, Florina has a good case for priority due to being a pretty easy unit to train there and it's not like she ever turns out truly awful. Usually, whenever I've gotten to this point, Florina usually has a few levels over her sister and comparable if not slightly better stats. IMO Dart is the more interesting recruitment you can have on the Dread Isle

Wyvern knight is definitely the best for all flyers. Cormag needs the 3 speed much more than he needs the 1 strength and 2 def that wyvern lord gives, and control over the weapon triangle really isn't that important especially since the weapon rank starts at e. You'll probably have an axereaver to spare for a lancelocked flier if there is ever a situation where you'll want him to face a bunch of axes, it's probably the best use case for it. Triangle attack is indeed very niche, I don't consider 'it's fun' a valid argument. It's just never useful, when are you going to have 3 units surround a unit who they couldn't already oneround or kill between the three of them? Not worth giving someone a suboptimal class for, especially if you're also going to need a suboptimal unit like syrene for it. Hard disagree on amelia, it's paladin and it's not close. General path gives 5 hp, 3 str, 4 skl, 3 spd, 5 def, 3 res and paladin gives 2 hp, 1 str, 3 skl, 4 spd, 1 def, 4 res. For those slight benefits you give up 3 movement. You have to put up with knight for at least 10 levels (more if you really do want to make her stats good), with the 4 movement, 1 weapon type, and lower speed when you could go for cavalier to immediately give her the speed and movement boost she needs to start contributing, as well as canto utility. The midgame is the hardest part of the game imo and even if general was better i'd probably value the midgame utility over the endgame utility. But there's no release after that as general will still be running behind the rest of your units. If she's not going to be a good combat unit anyway you want a generalist not a general (hehe) who brings more to the table than just stats. I prefer hero on gerik but there's a valid case for ranger I do indeed think marisa should go into swordmaster. Picking locks in lategame just isn't very useful of a skill when you have buyable keys and rennac, and she's fine in combat by the time she's a swordmaster, the worst is behind you at that point. If she gets a crit she'll probably oneround just fine

I just want to say good video before I get into my criticisms because I've done things like this in the past and don't feel like being someone who leaves a nasty comment on a well-intentioned video. As for the list; I agree with about half of this, my issues with this come in around the lower half. Amelia is better as a Paladin because movement is typically the most important stat in any FE game. Colm is wasted as an Assassin since his combat is bad anyway, so might as well get rid of those pesky lockpicks and be a Rogue. Slayer is heavily overrated and I'd rather have Sage promo bonuses/Valk movement than Slayer since it's overkill for what you're trying to achieve anyway and Joshua is about a 50/50 I'd say since either class suits him fine; Assassin gives thief utility and Assassinate bonus EXP, not to mention the skill itself, while Swordmaster gives better bonuses (if I remember correctly) and 15+ crit. Also sidenote, but if I remember correctly Pavise blocks crits, but not Assassinate, so even if that's a slightly specific scenario it is still important to remember. Good video overall.

I heavily disagree with Gerik. Excellent 1-2 combat is, I find, usually better than another cav with good 1 OR 2 range combat. In the monster filled maps I find it especially good where he cam just clean up a group of javelin/lance wielding gargoyles at WT advantage, alongside the eye scrubs. Though I see your point on cav utility and being one of the few viable bow users. Great list either way.

New Mystery Abel has Sequel-itis. Most common among Radiant Dawn Panthers, its when the devs just need to shove everyone and their mom into the next game.

General vs GK Amelia gives up 1 Atk/ Def for a point of movement, which is IMO a very hard case to make, especially given how you favor Ranger Gerik in the same video.

"beruka is what you would get if wyvern riders were balanced" was zoran's take in his playthrough of Fire Emblem Conquest, and i'm inclined to agree. she's one of the only ones in the series whose strength and speed are actually not that good, on top of having great defense and (at least nowadays) the best weapon type.

Right off the bat I think you're way off with the fliers. Wyvern Knight is the best promo for everybody by a WIDE margin, ESPECIALLY when compared to Falcon Knight. Swords are garbage in FE8, just give them an Axereaver if the situation calls for it. The increased Speed alone makes Wyvern Knight more worth, but then you add the extra chance to pretty much 1 shot enemies and it really becomes a no-brainer. If that 1 extra con for the Wyvern Lord is so appealing to you, then I'm sure +4 con going from Pegasus to Wyvern Knight must make you weak in the knees. Legit there is no justification to not go Wyvern Knight.

1-2 range hand axes outweighs extra movement for me, so I usually promote Gerik into hero.

Now it's time for you to do all the Fates characters optimal promotion, heart seal, friendship seal and marriage seal for every unit in all three routes.

Druid, valkyrie and warrior fans in absolute shambles.

I prefer to have Valkirie L'Arachel and give her Ivaldi since it conflicts with the Slayer skill of Bishops anyway

Id disagree with 2 of those. Ranger Gerick is nice but i dont feel like that the mount does more than axes, especially since youll have lots of units with high movement in a normal playthrough anyways. And asassin colm . Rogue has better utility, which is colms thing, he is not a combat focused unit. Also rogue has infinitly better animations, they are just fun.
