BMF/R Touring Axle Bolt Tightening
Просмотров 259Год назад
Jace describes how to tighten the Touring Axle Bolt on your Bishop Telemark BMF/R ski bindings. The bolt is pre-treated with thread fastener, but we recommend you add some more red loctite or equivalent. These bolts must be tightened to 20 N-m (14.75 ft-lbs), which is really really tight. By the way, have you checked you're binding screws? They attach the binding to the switch plate, and need t...

Bishop BMF-R and BMF-3 step-in, tour mode, and step-out tutorial
I still have a pair of Bombers mounted!
one of my favorite memories was an afternoon chasing Chris and Dave around beaver creek like 3ish years ago, those two (Chris especially) were who really pushed me to work on my freestyle riding on tele, and what really got me hooked on Bishop gear.
TOO short for me!!! Ugh!
Your name being "bigbub" we don't want to make any assumptions... how big are ya bub? The 184cm length gets the job done for many folks in the 6'2-6'4 range.
@@BishopTelemark 6'2"
Do I get the bindings????........
The future is what you make it. 😎
what we need most of the time in the ice of Australia, is a Bishop ski designed to be the narrowest possible waist for the awesome binding, and with plenty of sidecut
Hi! Thanks for your comment. The Gonzo is the ski you're describing. 90mm waist and 15-16 turning radius. It is our best selling ski in the US East Coast region where conditions are variable and get icy. Find more detail on our ski lineup and our "ski finder" form that will start a thread with our specialist Tom!: bishoptelemark.com/pages/choosing-the-best-tele-ski-for-you
Trying to scrounge a few $$ to get my Gonzos. East coast tele skier for 18 yrs. Still using 75 mm and Axl bindings. Love the feel of them but in all honesty I haven't skied any NTN or other bindings for 10 yrs. Reluctant to change and every year I think I need to demo NTN but the $ is a challenge as I have become a ski bum.
Hey Scott! We get great feedback from a lot of die-hard 75mm skiers who get on our BMF bindings with a 75mm toe cage and our Soft Spring kit. The connection behind the heel (instead of the duck butt) in combination with the soft springs equates to a familiar feel, but with all the benefits of a modern tele binding. And you can keep your boots until you're ready to switch to NTN. We know our bindings are not cheap, but they'll last for years and you only need one pair to use across all your skis. Keep shredding! See you out there.
Fun fact: Bishop was the name of Finn's Rottweiler ...Finn, the founder of Bomber Bindings which was the genesis of Bishop's brilliant creation. It is truly brilliant ...coming from someone who was/is a Hammerhead devotee from their very first beginnings and even back to the days of the Rainey Super Loop.
How difficult is it to raise the walking brackets under the heel?
Hi Karl! Some people are able to raise and lower the climbing wires with a ski pole that has a stiff basket or some lip on the grips. If you can't pull that off, you may need to reach and adjust them with your hand.
Love the Bishop Gonzo, but where can I find it in Europe?
Thanks! We don't have any dealers stocking our skis in Europe yet, but we will ship worldwide if you order from bishoptelemark.com.
I have been a certified Ski, Snowboard and Telemark instructor for 24 years -- I have owned and "Demo'ed" everything on the market. Hands down without any question -- Absolutely -- The best telemark binding on the market right now. Solid. Rugged. Reliable. 200 days on snow per season. 6 million vertical feet 3 seasons ZERO ISSUES.
Love the "GONZO" !! Nimble, agile, dependable.
I have been loving mine!
Glad to hear it Emmett!
I fell in love with "CHEDI" at first turn at Monarch Ski Area, Colorado during a demo April 2021. Bought my own set November 2021 -- All around it's a wonderful set up. LOVE THEM .. got them with BMF-3 bindings- RUGGED. RELIABLE. SOLID
Thanks, Niko!
"It's about the down!"
2:30 In the film "Birkebeinerne" one can see the use of Lurk. The municipal coat of arms for Lillehammer, Norway also shows a skier with the original Lurk. Thanks also for a great video on Bishop bindings and skies, it was interesting!
The dude in Birkebeinerne shreds!
Loved your style.. What bindings are those? I have skied for over 40 years and this winter I'm jumping into tele. I just bought so scarpa tx pro's and some K2 wayback 106. I'm not sure what kinda binding I want. Meidjo 3.0 seem cool I mainly reset ski bout wouldn't mind getting into Backcountry as well.
Hi! These are the Bishop Telemark BMF bindings. They come in two models, one is down-hill only, the other has an uphill mode. Check them out on our website: bishoptelemark.com.
hey so red loc-tite usually requires heat to get it to release. It should only be used when you never ever ever want that bolt or screw to come undone. From loc-tite's marketing: "PERMANENT FIX: Permanent seal prevents tampering and is only removable once cured by heating parts up to 500°F (260°C)"
That's what it says, but in practice I have backed out many screws only to find red loctite on them. Really red is just "better than blue" and that's about all you can say for it. Very much not permanent.
@@mbrunnme definitely not my experience. glad to hear your view and I'll keep an eye out for it!
I've tried Telemarking a handful of times and used regular ski poles but using one long pole like these guys do just made sense. It seemed more natural, like I wanted to really lean uphill on that pole. Are there certain brands of these long poles?
Hi! Yes... it's us (Bishop Telemark)! We are the only company to produce and sell a lurk. We call it the San Juan Stick. Check it out on our website: bishoptelemark.com/collections/san-juan-stick-lurk
Thanks Dave. Best ski patrol binding for me. So fast to step in. Reliable too. Love the BMF 3 for resort
Great to hear! Thanks!
One day😉
I love my Bishop skis & bindings... BIG FAN!

BEST TELEMARK BINDINGS

Dropping knee. Bumping the algorithm
Most Excellent!
That´s awesome! The conditions at the German low mountain ranges are absolutly not the same, but still funny :-D
Where can i buy that "skipole"? must have
Doesn't seem to explain what the "lock wedge" feature is/does.
it switches you from touringmode to tele mode im pretty sure
Nice skiing. Love your bindings have a pair a few years old, looking forward to getting a pair of the new step in ones. So i can be in quickly and beat my buddies to the powder. LOL Keep up the great work. 😊
Awesome soundtrack. Sweet turns.
Fun stuff!
Never seen anyone ski with one, long pole. Fascinating! As a low-angled XCD skier, I can appreciate the power, skill and elegance these guys demonstrate.
I’ve never seen those before. What are they called?
Lurk is the name of the stick. Some use them like a kayak paddle… others more like an SUP paddle. Diana Revierra (spelling!!) has recently put up a few videos w athletes lurking #backtothefuture
@@Julianhulls Thanks for the info!

Having cables to make turns for 30 yrs., I can't wait...just received BMF/R Stealth bindings yesterday, (Happy 54th Birthday present to myself !), mounted them today, skiing them tomorrow. Have skied many lines in Silverton as well. Great to see the footage. Thank you Bishop!
So fun to watch as a bookmark to my 5 days in Steamboat and back in the Midwest. I believe I am convinced to make the transition from G3 Targa to NTN. I also just turned 54 and 26 yrs on cables and. 3 knee surgeries.
Wow, that was absolutely fabulous ! ✌
#fuckfreeheellife #bishopforever Also, looove the sylvan esso in the edit seeing them this August, keep repping the best "new" telemark binding.
