Actually the seal failure rate for the spacer was .2% at 20 years, not .5%. In fact as of today the spacer system used is now at 30 years since introduction and the failure rate is still holding at .2% at 30 years.

I live in Massachusetts where it's cold half of the year and I spent over $4000 for the inswing patio doors and they haven't worked easily even from one year ! We've had three different installers come to the house to try to reset it and we still are having the same problem. Ice builds up in the winter, (ON THE INSID|DE OF THE DOOR!) the winds blows in and then the snow builds up on the floor (INSIDE!) We have to lift up on the door to get it to latch, even in the summer. I've replaced the hinges, adjusted the s=hi=t out of the hinges (See another Anderson video how to do it) and nothing has worked I think this guy is (like Sticky Notes says) a just a salesman!

I live in Houston, TX and have this door. It's wonderful. I've had it since 2005. I just need to learn how to make the adjustments to raise the bottom of the door a little because I've had new hardwood flooring installed and the bottom drags a little. Otherwise, I'm happy with it. Nice video presentation.

I changed out existing sashes from 29 year old Andersen low e low e SUN (bronze) to low e 2018 much better, SUN really blocks out more heat and lets through more visible light, SUN is the best dark look from outside, great privacy during the day. After 29 years new Andersen Sashes casements, are much better than old low e original including SUN, things get better, yup. Big low e 4 SUN perma shield door in back, really dropped temperature in an mostly GLASS 8ft slider on east side, now SUN great stuff, over just low e, door hardware improved also, now frame is lifted with small plastic spacers to keep water from wicking up frame like teh old 1989 versions, and frame exteriro is all one piece molded, no place for water leaks anymore. Old casdments I just swapped out sashes as original frames where fine after 29 years! NEW SUN low e 4 all around now, back room with 13 sashes , 8 ft slider SUN Andersen., lot cooler over low e..and privacy with teh darker tint of SUN, not SMART SUN. 8 velux roof windows (low e neat glass, not sun) Science in action GLASS matters. FRont side of house with large bow Andersen gets Western setting sun intense, 4 sashes of new low e 4 SUN versus old SUN bronze new grey is clearer, more visible light, and blocks more heat from coming in...new stuff is better

Low-e windows are causing the vinyl siding on houses to melt. Something needs to be done about this because the problem is becoming huge.

I contracted with Home Depot and I can't remove the screens because I was never shown. The locks don't lock. I have made many calls to Home Depot and they don't return my calls. I would strongly advise NEVER USE HOME DEPOT. Contacted Andersen. Still waiting for information or advice. I paid for this project the day they were installed. Still haven;t got a written warranty.
