@1:48 It was nice of your boat to keep filming you!
Auto Pilot mode
Nice rope toss @5:56! My favorite part in all of this is when the blue boat finally gets unstuck they decide to go back in for more.
Good times!
Lol at my Spencer's line and allowing myself to get out in the flow to get steamrolled at Carnivore! Note to self.....
Thanks for the great time on the water!
We had a blast! It was like taking a bunch of kids to the candy store.
Very nice beautiful team work
what classification of rapids would you consider the tank hole, jack , queen and king? i live locally to this river and wanting to get into rafting and rowing.great Videos
I don't know if they have an official classification but I would call them at least a class 3 to 3+. I'm certain at high water they become class 4 since all of them are significant drops and Jack, Queen and King are so close together and there is a higher risk for a very long swim. Oh yeah, and watch out for downed trees blocking the entire river. There were 2 of those last December. Stay safe!
It really is just like you to haul your boat up mid river at a ledge rapid for a second run!
😮wow good job son
You didn't run Hollywood?
Hung onto the rod! Impressive!!
A lil too much sideways action for me 🤢 hope y'all T it up next time 🙏
Whoa! That turned out well....🫣
Nice! Definitely one of my favorite/most interesting paddling days in recent memory. Your camera angle gives a nice view of the snow.
100% not the rowers falt... hold on to somthing besides a camera next time... lol you deserve to be wet on this one
Hey, curious to how long your raft is and what size tubes are?
14ft with 20inch tubes
@@martinorlik thank you. I’ve got a 12 footer with 20 inch tubes that I’ve been wanting to do that float with.
@@jayt4290 Just a heads up, this river requires a certain level of skill. The difficulty varies with water level and there is always the possibility for wood in the river.
seeing this before the fires is pretty great! Thank you for this post.
What is that ice chest setup?
That's was something I created to secure the cooler between thwarts.
Great video!
Thanks!
Would this be safer if everyone left at different times and it was timed? I would worry about missing lines. Looks like Fun!
Did they finally open up the nice put in, or is it still carry everything from the parking lot to the beach?
Both of these races are long! Way to keep at it.
Even knowing the outcome ahead of time, watching this gave me anxiety. Great work everyone!
Where do I put in and take out if I want to raft the upper Clackamas river?
Hole-In-the-Wall to Moore Creek when the river is under 1,200 cfs. Sandstone bridge to Moore Creek when the river is above 1,200 cfs. but most people prefer to run that section above 2,000 cfs. in a raft.
I made the mistake of running the lower clackamas, (Mclver to Barton) in a 4 person Star raft last week. Had to pick up raft 4-5 times to pull across rocks. I knew I over did it when I saw a guy with a pool floaty paddling with a broom next to me. Appreciate the reply!
@@jakethetank9760 The upper Clack is a fun run but keep in mind the video at the top of this page was from last year and the water was a lot higher then (1,300 cfs.) It's currently running at around 800 cfs. Both the upper and lower rivers are runnable all summer if you know the lines and yes they both offer plenty of places to get stuck. Also keep in mind the upper river is considerably more difficult. Here is a link to a video that shows the upper Clack at a level closer to what it's currently running. ruclips.net/video/zVhjxBw4wFg/видео.html
Still would love to know where you got your seat pad/foam for your rower box on the raft. Thanks
That was you my son Swimming ?? Wow 😮
Nope
Who’s the swimmer??
@@martinorlik who was the swimmer??
I have a good guess.
Looks like a perfect day on the water. Big waves and a warm, clear day. Nice work.
Thanks Chris.
@@martinorlik is that a super puma or a boat like it. I plan to row my super puma for clack fest this year and want to gauge what I should expect. Any tips or thoughts? Also cool channel I subbed, hey I have a channel too, whitewater adventure, just started the channel, festival will probably make it on there if I don’t forget my GoPro. That video was awesome btw. Keep it up
@@epicgaminglabs5629 The boat is a Maravia Diablo. It's a little longer and wider that the Super Puma. You'll have fun in the Super Puma. Enjoy!
Wow 😮son very challenging river today
Yeah I capsized when i did it.
Where did you get your seat pad for your dry box? looks cushy
Brother had a death grip on that $1,000 rod.
Outstanding! Thanks for documenting my surf!
Tell me where you got your seat pad for your dry box please
What is your seat cushion on your dry box?
I built it out of 1" ethafoam. First piece is glued on and covers the entire dry box. The "U" shape is made out of 2 more smaller rectangles glued together, cut out the U and then glued on top of the first piece. Yeah, it really helps me stay in my seat. I purchased the ethafoam at Andy and Bax www.andyandbax.com but that was a while ago. Hope this helps.
Excellent!!
Good times
Well it least they remembered one rule “ don’t drop the rod “ :-)
Good to see you put life jackets on. I couldn’t imagine trying to get out of the river with waders full of water if you ripped over.
Absolutely. A good belt is advisable too.
Nice shot of the spawning salmon! Gone are the days when we used to run Killer Fang.... For 2 - 3 years a landslide downstream raised the water table in the rapid itself, allowing it to be run at moderate flows. It still was a good bit dicey with a significant amount of water going under the undercut and boulder sieve, and now looking at what was down there just makes me feel lucky that we escaped a couple near misses!
I am told by outdoor insurance company's the reason guide - charter company insurance is so high is what you see here stupid raft guides dunking clients or killing their clients. For us full time quality outfitter & guides we pay the price in Higher insurance because ass wipe rafting guides screw ups. I've noted over the years I can tell when a rafting guide is upriver from me just watching the beer cans and garbage floating by
Nice fish
How long is your raft?
14 feet
what company did you raft with?
If you're asking what rafting company I have worked for the answer would be none of them. I only boat privately.
Where did you take out? Dodge?
Yes, Dodge Park.
Big Eddy looks great! Scenery is nice too. Too bad it’s such a short run.
There is a lot more whitewater and longer runs in the area however it's usually class V.
Lol! Not sure how I missed this one. You guys got the heavy duty rinse cycle at Mill City Falls! Good times.
Yeah, a memorable moment and this was the last time we took out at Fishermen's Bend.
Wow. Dude I'm super impressed. I took a team of 4 strong paddlers plus me on the guide stick down this and nearly died in the picket fence. We portaged Revenue. You just R1ed the whole thing? Everything I know about rafting is wrong. You ever make it out to MT, hit me up. I"m sure I can show you some new WW and I'm sure I can learn from you even via osmosis. Stay rad my dude.
Thanks but I did not R1 the whole thing. It was only my second time on this stretch of river. I lined my boat arround Drain Hole. I think that is the picket fence you mentioned. I also portaged the boulder chocked top part of Revenue then R2'd the bottom part with a friend. We got to run the rapid 2X.
Solid rower. 🦾🌊🤘🏻🎣
How is the put in take out situation now that the road are open? River looks amazing can't wait to get back out there.
The original put in up stream of the bridge is currently closed. You have to slide your boats down over a steep rocky bank on the downstream side of the bridge. The take out at Moore Creek is open.
Great video and editing, looks fun! Where would I put in and take out at for the run that you posted on this video?
Sick! Thanks for posting! If you see someone up there in a $100 inflatable kayak trying not to die say hi.
Excellent run! Great video too.
Thank you David!
wow
Why is that beautiful clear river so white got to love the Pacific northwest
Great day. Thanks for filming it
