My name is Tyler and I have hobbies. Lots of hobbies. I'm not very experienced in any of them but I'm trying to learn. I've always wanted to get into video editing and tried a little back when we recorded on mini VHS tapes...that wasn't easy or much fun. Now that it has become much easier to do I added it to my list of hobbies. So that is what my channel is about. It's me (and sometimes my girlfriend, Jeanette, and my brother, Travis) venturing into somewhat unknown hobby territory. This includes painting or anything in the art realm, DIY projects (we have a lot of home projects on our list), bushcraft/camping, and any other hobby or interesting activity we try to explore. This is The Inexperienced Adventures!

Purchased this at a thrift store for $10. I paid too much for it...It was water damaged badly and someone tried painting it with grey chalk paint. I had a feeling about it though and I'm glad I purchased it. I was really excited to see all that beautiful wood hiding under the horrible chalk paint. I'm glad I could give this piece a new life and hopefully someone will enjoy it for years to come....

People over pour paint. I don't do that. I'm not concerned about the canvas cause you can always add more paint if you need to. The vase lost colors but turned out beautifully.

What do you do with the bubbles on the rim?
I sanded them off with a palm sander.
How did it hold up in the weather?
Not good. If it were on a covered porch it may work. The build was just for fun. It fell apart pretty quickly.

Sooo why is this wrong??? I mean so you have to do some maintenance here and there. But what yard project doesn't. So can someone explain what is wrong with doing it this way? Well besides the landscape company owners who charge a fortune to do something like this.

How have the 2x4s held up after 2 years? Have they warped much?
Yes they bent in. I posted a video about a year ago on how we fixed that. Since the fix they have held up great.

It is holding up great. I have one and two year update videos on my channel. After 3 years it is still the same.
Update on the string lights? Looks like you added some support wood.
Yeah, I made a video on adding those supports. The 2x4s were starting to bow quite a bit. Other than that they are holding up great.

I like how you mounted the hardware on the backside and nothing on the very front of the top peak. For mine to be portable I am going to make the feet attached the the arch with a bolt, painted black, with washer and nut on the very base of the feet there. For an extra measure i think I am going to drill a whole in the front and backside of the feet so a stake with a washer can be placed and drove into the ground for security in case its windy on the day of. Will not be noticeable or maybe even needed but to have that ability I think will help for extra security. Then I will just screw that back 45 degree mounts at the top peak on site when I get there, much like you have shown here. Nice work

We play Cornhole under them. This is only a small portion of our yard. If we want to play other games we can go outside the fence line.

Cool idea but top doesn't match at all and that storage underneath is so small and u lose all the cabinet storage if u use the bottom storage. Very odd setup.

we put in pea gravel around our pond as a seating area, but it gets dragged out of the area since we have no edging and weird problem is some of my shoes the gravel gets stuck between the lugs and gets tracked in the house LOL
