Wintersun - The Way of the Fire - Live audio edit
There are several edits of this song, performed live, on RUclips.
The main difference this edit has, is that it includes the live drum performance track, by Kai Hahto, which also has a demo guitar track in the background. I have tried to bring this forward in the audio, particularly during the 1st guitar solo (it's a pretty one). I have tried to lessen the volume of the click track on this, but my audio editing skills are limited, so this will have to do.

Added the acoustic instrumental version of Loneliness as a backing track to give a "Folk Metal" feel to the song. Sometimes the acoustic additions sound unnecessary, however in some section, the additions sound amazing. Hey, this sounds great! I just made a mix of Storm that combined a bunch of stuff in the same way your video has. I think it turned out pretty good (check my channel), I was considering doing one for Way of the Fire too but there just isn't enough material out there for it. I think we'll just have to wait until Time II comes out. Check the Storm video out anyway if you get 10 mins spare 😎

this is by far the best mix of this I've heard, genuinely cant believe i'll be listening to a studio version in less than a year.

@@PsyphaX09 I feel it ought to be, due to the fact that it was originally going to be just the one album. Jari seems to be particularly pleased about the track "Silver Leaves", while Kai has stated that "Storm" is one of the most beautiful songs he has heard. I don't believe we have heard the full-length version of that song yet. Time will tell!

One of the best songs I've ever heard.. listened to the live versions at least 1000 times, leard to play it on guitar including all solos and melodies, just an amazing piece of music, can't wait to hear the studio version finally
It's a beautiful song, there are going to be so many little details and melodies in the studio version which we could never hear in the live versions. I'm looking forward to the vocal layering 🙂
listening to the same song as 9 years ago, but i still have hopes we will hear the studio version someday ( even if the rest of wintersun has moved on onto "bigger" bands now )
Dude, I'm sure you may have heard already, but Time II will likely release around the second half of this year. The album is finally completed, the band will be doing their own preorder package in the meantime, starting in about a month's time.

Mexico 2013 is probably the best version we have on RUclips. It did feel like a crime dialing down the sound on it in certain sections in this edit, to achieve a more "full" sound.

Can you show how you cut the acoustic track in the software? Since the acoustic track is shorter and doesn't fit on top of the original track, i'm interested in making my own mix. Sounds awesome!
I used Audacity for this one. I basically cut up the acoustic instrumental version, and lined up different parts with the isolated tracks to make the melodies match. To get perfect synchronisation, I sometimes only had the drum track and the acoustics soloed. Most of the acoustics are structured the same as the normal version, so it was just a matter of fading in and out to keep transitions smooth. I also added in a bit of the full acoustic version, to add in some of the clean vocals during the growling part. Also put in some of the acousic version parts in different places to mix up the melodies of the song. Have fun with it!
That doesn't help much since i don't know which parts of the acoustic version you used to fill the gaps and where. It would be perfect if you had the file up and took a screenshot how you arranged it. But thanks anyway.
