I love ❤️ Cougar XR7’s, I had 1974, totally fully load silver addition, it was beautiful and magical ... I miss that car, it had a 351 cubic inch Cleveland V8, I towed a trailer, and that car handled the load perfectly, I added swaying-stabilizing-gear-hookups, and would go down an empty freeway at 80 miles an hour, with the A/C on full-blast, Stereo Radio/ 8 track tape playing ... Wow, what a smooth riding car, it took the bumps so smoothly and the suspension was the best ... I was a young, 21, year old, and this car had class, so many people always gave me a thumbs-up and fell in-love with the car, it was my baby ... I really wanted the 1968 Cougar XR7, with all the options, like A/C, Stereo/cassette, full-length console, power windows, Brakes, Steering, Dual-Front-Seats, cruise control, upgraded 6 speakers, tilt-steering wheel, fully leather seats and interior, 390 cu in engine, automatic transmission, Emerald-Green exterior with black-vinyl-roof, with sun/moon roof, black-leather-Interior-through out, spoke-wire-hubcaps, and 4-barrel carburetor, dual-power-mirriors, etc., the car would have cost over $8,000.00, But, things did not work out at that time, I had to wait, and the Brand-New 1974 Silver-Edition, exterior was totally silver with silver vinyl roof, and cranberry-red interior, It was the best!!!
It's cool to see these vids lots of people comment negative but half the cars like this just starting it does not make it road Worthy it was parked for a reason shocks tires radiator mufflers etc etc etc . I know I bought one like this cracked head , gas in oil guy ran it with a fryed fuel pump diaphram started right up though steering box all over the place it was more work than I wanted but it was running ....
poor car......how about some oil in the pistons to get compression up before you sit there and scar the crap out of the piston walls.....would have started right up
Great video. I had a '67.

Amazing, I love seeing these kinds of videos.
Love the cranking!
blinker on fender 68 67 didnt have them on fenders
Still won’t run on but 6 cylinders after 25 years either !!
After 25 years, the gas tank should have been replaced. Also too much either will dry out the cylinder and damage the engine.
Can't keep a good car down. Good job.
I love the color of that Cougar and I love the “Starsky & Hutch” 5-hole rims on her, she looks like a sweet lady.
I bet that started was hotter than a pepper sprout
🔥🔥🔥🔥
sitting under a tree for 25 yrs not a speck of dirt or leaves on it
Guy must be really fucking stupid!!

Car of the year in 1967 !!!! I had one the very same color !!!!! Great car !!!! Wish I had it Back !!!! 😕
One starter please
By me
Why do cars like This sit for 25 Years This gem needs to be driven
Damn..pour.some.damn gas.nn.it.dont.burn.the.starter.uppp.goof.ball
Under the hood of a FOMOCO leave the key on and jump with a screwdriver at the starter solenoid....saves a ton of in and out.
Tenho um Ford corcel ii ano 82
Glad it was not Cannibalized for a Mustang
First car when was 15 yrs old.....rite-on😉
Shim.. that starter😉
289 -- I am not surprised it started.
I love bringing old cars back from the dead. I'm doing a 67 Cougar on my channel right now.
But how to prep the motor for the start. I have one that hasn't ran for maybe 10 years, and afraid to start it. Thanks!
Cool car
Better go out and buy a whole bunch of extra starters. I can't watch this anymore. Only into it a little over a minute.

Burn the starter out of it?
It amazes me how cars sitting for a while start up and hold idle. Amazing. Good job man. Thanks for posting.
Great way to burn up the starter
Interior is remarkably CLEAN for sitting for 25+ years! Don't believe it!
Nice video.
DUDE, ease off on the starter! Sheesh..
Mercury will survive
Ford starters can take a hell of a beating. But a little starting fluid would have helped
stop bitching And watch the fucking video or don't but the bitching is going to stop cuz I said so! nice car and vid yo😃
That is as bad as somebody Pumping the throttle on a Fuel Injected Engine............ GET ON MY NERVES!!!
Hello................... you can stop anytime now and check something.
Burn that starter up.................
Every time an engine to an old American mussel car starts after a long time of sitting a Prius dies
**muscle
haha nice
That’s wassup
The only good Prius is a dead one!
poor car......how about some oil in the pistons to get compression up before you sit there and scar the crap out of the piston walls.....would have started right up
Guy obviously hasn't a clue as to what he is doing! Probably ruined that engine.
Good way to fry a starter.
Over six years ago... wonder what happened since.
