hi everyone,
quick heads up after a bit more than a year of having this channel.
main game, as you might have guessed was and is Darktide with an emphasis on highest level Ogryn gameplay.
though i play other classes every now and then, i try and get the most out of him despite working full time.
so yeah, while this is a "hobby channel" i´m happy about every "like" and subscription.
this channel will stay free of commercials, can´t stand them when watching other videos myself so : "do as you would be done by"
feel free to comment and ask away about anything that might came up watching my gameplay
given my little free time i´ll try to upload 2 gameplay videos daily but sometimes stuff comes up.
but every game that i mention this channel at the end WILL be uploaded.

Darktide Ogryn Loadout & Talent Tutorial (Branx & Kickback)
hi folks,
after many aborted attempts (really feel silly "talking to my monitor")
here´s an unscripted (aint nobody got time for thad =D ) tutorial, explanation, ramble.... whatever you wanna call it, to help understand the build i´m using.
couldn´t squeeze everyting into one video, nor did i have a plan to fill 30 minutes without repeating myself.
some core elements like the dodge after second branx swing though is one puzzle piece of why sometimes it seems just as fast as the karsolas as the action is going on.
feel free to ask anything and yeah i know, the microphone is crap =D

Darktide Havoc 40 with randoms Ogryn (sadly no sound due to steam messing up the recording)

edit: in ALL my 800 something videos and around 100 recorded with steam i didnt have a single problem. everytime i upload my stuff i got my laptop mute, so i didnt check before, thats on me. whats on steam though is despite having nothing changed, neither settings nor hardware, the one sound channel recorded is mute and guess what, ingame it was perfectly fine. of course it that to be THE havoc...

seriously fatshark, the lobby system is about the dumbest thing you could do. technicall i had 3 hours playtime to spare. what did i make of it ? ONE havoc match. granted, after this one i had to pause the game for "domestic stuff" still, i spent more time looking for squads than actually play one. hell freezes over before i switch my ogryn for another puny class.

if it only wasnt for that damned lobby, got no problem with waiting for a match, but demoting the one opening one rightfully makes people picky so after saying goodbye to the guys here in the match, after the break the day was a bust. either lower havocs or nothing above 30.... fatshark you need to tweak your lobby matchmaking

well, first run through the new map after crashing 2 times before. seems discord combined with the game and THIS map seems to fuck up memory somehow.... anyways, this is a 3/4ish blind run. never got farther than the first couple rooms without a crash. oh and the waiting between the map pool gracing me with HISTG, yep you gotta love that one.

Nice first commentary Ogryn brother in carnet. This would be pretty cool to do this on actual games as well would love to see that for sure. Yeah, I love both the Branx & Karsolas the most pickaxe-wise. On the Karsolas, I usually go Slaughterer & Headtaker w/Carapace + Flak DMG for max DPS output, but could do Infested or un/armored DMG for faster horde clear & with Branx of course the same thing as yours. I always thought the Borovian pickaxe had such a weird move set that I hated, but it does have it's fans. Yes, the Kickback will always be my favorite w/ Surgical or Full Bore sometimes I even put on Run & Gun for the added spread reduction. I've tried the new stubbers in a bunch of games. It's just not for me & I really, really tried to give them a fair chance too... It's too slow & awkward. The Kickback is super fast & more intuitive, plus you don't have to be dead-on accurate either which I like to kill anything. My Curios are all simple too... All 21% HP w/ Stam Reg, Health & Toughness. Smash Em' is interesting, I use it sometimes if I'm 1-on-1 with a monstrosity to trade blows. Other than that... I don't use it because if you just block their hits you'll be fine for sure. As for Pulverize, I don't use it either because after I make a charge, I generally turn around & kill whatever I charge. Hoping Oggy will get more weapons in the future ranged & melee of course. *Crosses fingers*
well, you're onto something 😁 yesterday i had a fun match (no not havoc, this party finder shitshow is more waiting game than anything else) in HISTG only to find out steam again fucking up the audio recording 😮 so as a way to "salvage" it i plan on doing a commentary on the live gameplay. could even be a bonus with no background noise🤞 first i need a better mic/settings for sure
@@IndexGamingChannel Yeah, that does suck... I've read of people having that same exact issue with their mics too while recording. My mic is a RE20 (Black Edition). Honestly... I love it more than my Shure SM7B which is probably the most popular mic on the market. The voice quality is just incredible. Really the best I've found. Only downfall is that it's over 500 bucks off-sale. On-sale, it was a little over 400 Canadian (I'm in Canada). But if you want to go a cheaper route... I'd get the Logitech Blue Yeti. The quality is still pretty solid & picks up well. Very popular among podcasting/FPS shooter gamer people. Anything will do honestly something that's at least over 100 bucks will be fine lmao. Depending on your budget.
concerning all the cooldown reduction. Isnt CDR also very usefull for yourself and being solo? More charging also means stacking more dmg and increasing attack speed too. The +20% smg from payback time are good and sound good but I often find myself not getting hit too much. Atleast not enough to decide against all the benefits from having lower CDR for the charge which consistently will give more dmg without having to take dmg.
You can’t always charge in solo high havoc, most of the times your Indomitable will just sit there while you hold your ground to survive a wave
@ i mean no need to charge the full distance. Also charging into safety. Had a game today where i actually would hve liked some CDR to get my charge back faster to either get to cover or close the distance faster
@@busch_ii7450 theres no definite answer for sure BUT as stated below I as well am not repositioning constantly. and for me, bullrush is mainly a tool for movement first and damage second. bit lenghty to explain in text but that one time i asked soldiers how they'd defend from a knife attack i got surprised looks and the answer: "if someones gotten close enough to stab you while your group is carrying a firearm, you totally fucked up anyways 🤣" now what do i mean by that? charge is excellent getting you out of a tight spot or close to your team again. its also great for, as you stated, not fully committing through but push them bowling pins just right. now, that usually applies every few minutes in a run thats not total chaos and zero coordination (on your part as well) if however you find yourself in need of constantly getting out of there quick, its an indicator you shouldnt be there in the first place. again, hectic combat, things change 20x in 5 sec. BUT being in need of your ult to often, maybe thats an indicator to work on pacing and placement. additionally, as for damage: i love charging into a chunky cluster of ragers/gunners you name it. again here's the "but", they dont lay neatly in one space most of the time and by the time i made my way through the "human centipede" on the floor, my damage buff has seized. whereas the ever present damage bonuses in your talent tree never are not available. so for me its the "math of exposure" behind it and the way i play aggressively, i DO get hit a lot, hence the toughness recharge behavior and usually got these benefits ready in every fight. hope that made some sense, maybe in the future and with a better mic i pick some gameplay examples and explain more details 👍
@ it do make sense. I already tried it yesterday and licked it alot. However I in pubs i did have a couple games where i would have liked to have my charge earlier. I might get rid of trample, since the charge is used more as a repositioning tool anyway and try to get the cdr But your use of the branx is actually amazing. I never liked it cos i would chain Heavies and lights and get alot of chip dmg in between. With the push attack you can play much safer. I also thought since you are constantly pushing anyway how good that build might be with Feel No Pain keystone and the side node where you replenish your stacks on a push.
@busch_ii7450 as for the pickaxe pattern: thats the beauty of darktide's combat mechanic, it just "clicks" with me to the point i "feel" whats needed to do, much akin to pure quake 3 physics where your input is translated 100%into on-screen action. might be doing a follow up video since i couldnt put "everything" into one. but explaining "fram skipping" is gonna be hard for me cause i dont do it "consciously" if that makes sense 😁 sometimes things "flow together" and after a match or two you make it a pattern.... guess next time i need a script😅
If you play ogryn getting that second diagonal swing out while dodging is definitely something we have done but people probably dont realize how fast it is but I notice it all the time and the stagger is crazy. That follow up attack is so fast and has so much stagger it makes fighting ragers not seem dangerous cuz you know that second heavy is coming and its gonna kill them or stagger them anyway. Its just a very safe attack even against crushers you just dodge after the first heavy and you know the second one is really gonna hurt them lol.
@@infrared6973 its all about keeping the flow going and as long as you got "map" left you can kite enemies to their deaths almost forever. for crushers its an a)/b) scenario: a) crusher going for a mate with a vertical attack you stagger first the heavy-kill him afterwards b) crusher comes at you with an overhead and you see it telegraphed, go sideways with a heavy of yourself and a small whack afterwards (with a chance a mate gets him down with follow up damage) ragers are just kiting eventually and nothing's as satisfying as "toro...olé" with a mutant, basically wearing your "rock" on a long stick😁
Here's a trick with a bulwark and the Branx vertical heavy: stand close to the bulwark and aim at the sky above his head. The bottom of your swing will hit him in the head over his shield. Really like your combo. I've been doing push attack>heavy>light>heavy etc but your way looks safer, does more damage and saves a talent point from the keystone.
@amagideon1 agreed, with one little situational thing: sometimes still the branx hits the top of the shield. i'd say about 30% of the time... something like that. otherwise i'm with you, aiming up gets you usually a whack in. if however a group of bulwarks are onto you, clanging that one shield might hamper the flow, whereas letting the front row have their wild swing at you gets you to pound them. again, situational. ironically, the bully I club of all things reaches over the shield 100% of the time, go figure 🤣 as for the pattern, its one i found "reliable" with interrupting incoming attacks and most importantly, keep that toughness battery charged 👍 most important thing though, i'm glad you liked it, took me a while to get past that "awkwardness" of rambling into my screen.😁

Nice! Slightly late to this, but congratz. I've done 2 thus far with him one in Gloriana & the other at Vigil Station. I'm probably going to do at least 1 40 game a week with Ogryn just to keep my mind sharp. Don't want to get too soft playing regular games all of the time lol. I want at least one hard challenge for me a week besides the plain old stuff.
@@TheBryanrice1991 my thanks, im just glad to be done with right now, imagine my frustration finding out about the recording having no sound. steam fixed it in the meantime and i'll gonna play some 40s again as well but not being at the whim of the party finder and being able to host some (if people join ogryn that is) takes quite the pressure off the lid. and as proclaimed, "i did it my way" 😝 the tedious...random...soul draining... oh emprah what have i done🤣 the irony is havoc as a mode feels great but its just not as "available" as hopping into a HISTG or auric maelstrom when you spontaneously find some time to play. and thats for fatshark to fix along a mechanic to make ogryn independent from book and bubble.
@@IndexGamingChannel No problem! I hope you fix it! Honestly, I haven't seen too many people with the "True Survivor" title on & I've been playing a shit load of Maelstorm & some Havoc. It must be a bit rare, I'm thinking. It's only a small percentage of people in the game that can actually complete these kinds of things it seems. I'm only saying this because most randoms I play with aren't that great in general & this is just Damnation as well, I mean lmao. I feel only select few will have it for awhile. Seems a bit prestigious. I also love the Poxbreaker title as well, but still think True Survivor is slightly above. I would rank it like this: True Survivor, Havoc Forge, Budding Interrogator, Poxbreaker & literally last.... A.S.S. lol... The interesting thing is no Alt-F4 & everybody cannot be downed, so of course it will take some effort even being carried in my mind, how can you carry dead weight & earn the title? lmao. But some guy was arguing that it's not super impressive... & in my view if I'm objectively comparing it to A.S.S. it is lmao.
@@TheBryanrice1991 kinda its own meme right now is zealots and psykers carry true survivor title in the majority of cases, having "earned" it solely out of under each others skirts. yes my true survivor had those as well (dudes played awesome though) and some "critique" was me being set up for success "hard" which is rich coming from those not playing anything else than the safe option. yes true survivor is the harder to get title, akin to twins hardmode in terms of lucking out of teams to find(when it comes to randoms) but havoc forged opens more doors in party finder giving them the false hope of "if he's done 40 already he'll get us through no matter what". A.S.S is THE self outing 99% of the cases that flashing a title weighs greater for them than any personal skill, hence the worth for a team is questionable at best and most of the time they'll quit at first downed, ironically what it says on the tin already 😁 recording is sorta fixed. was doing a mic check (yes commented video incoming 😱) and sometimes steam still fucks up not recording ingame but mic only..... gonna get interesting
@@IndexGamingChannel Ohh no doubt! I really wish it was called "The Insane" rather than True survivor. That would of been pretty cool actually. Somebody said that to me & they were like it's almost like it's backwards lol. Because it was somewhat hell to get.
I think recently more people have been experimenting with other builds than zealot+book and psyker+bubble, as they grow a bit tired of those combos and want to see more variety. I've been trying other abilities than just bubble in my recent video, although my teamates were not too happy with that. I think when people have mastered havoc such that they aren't dependent on the standard formula the other builds will become normal again, but hopefully that won't too long.
@@rubatirabbit you and me both. the "Bittsteller" approach when technically you got the skills but your character is missing some "talents" right now kills all my patience to deal with the party finder instead of firing up some other game thats available right away. again i get people not wanting to waste their 3 shots at climbing the ladder, but fatshark needs to rethink their demotion system, randoms are not the environment for such "Sippenhaft"
Congrats on clearing 40! Despite the sound issues I hope you let out a big cheer in Werner Herzog manner :D I was demoted from 24 to 21 because of leavers and rage quitters, it could be so fun at the time it's a real test of nerves and patience. Hope Fatshark does smthing about it soonish
@@labanix as things are right now, fatshark needs to rethink demotions. i get the idea behind it, but main mistake of concept i think was suggesting people come from a premade concept. few got the luxury of 3 other mates ready at any hour and usually its randoms without voice. therein lies the issue with them then playing it safe at all costs cause you never know what can of worms you signed up for. plus having 2 talents mandatory and rank them higher than actual physical skill is... "not well thought out" to remain polite😁 stay on it, in time you'll make it, no matter how straining the party finder might be. as for werner.... there was rather a scream of agony when finding out about the muted sounds 😤
that's for depending on that PoS party finder, it kills my desire to play havoc the moment i open it

for what its worth i seem to have found the issue. recent windows update fucked up steams option to ONLY record ingame sound. since i chose to not record my own mic and that of my gaming buddy, until 2 days ago(day i updated windows) it worked like a charm. aaaah crap😢

@ZUKOKBG on it.... uploading again tonight edit: for fks sake.... steam messed the audio up while recording.... no settings changed no new hardware. bottom line, source material is faulty as well so even with editing software the one sound channel that was recorded, was blank. the icing on the cake... NO other video did this, like ever. sure it had to be the havoc 40 video that gets messed up...... just my luck
No sound in darktide recordings here too, I've just tested it. Have to see if other games are also affected. Not clear ATM if it's the last update of windows or steam.

I'd love to give my main a swing in higher tier Havoc. No one joins my games though or I don't get accepted. VoC Vet, Chorus Zealot or Bubble Smyker only. BORING
@@spectre722 for me ogryn is a character "from the heart" everything about him clicks just right and the movement pattern so natural to my aggressive playstyle. though i got a vet char all decked out, its not nearly as rewarding to play and for about half a year now i havent been playing as vet. naturally my performance with vet would be waaaay worse. so in a sense i'm not only an ogryn main i AM ogryn 😝

very well played, all of you, my thanks for the smooth match and the chance to show ogryn´s got what it takes for higher havocs. plus i kept my promise doing the true survivor. wasn´t that tense since i competed in quake 3 tournaments almost 25 years ago =D
how in the world do you make wielding the branx look like the karsolas when it comes to speed and "lightness"? Is it it just optimization of chaining attacks or is there animation cancels? I tried to play havoc lvl 21 with near same build and i failed so miserably that I really dont understand how you make it look so easy. crazy gameplay
thanks mate, huge compliment and much appreciated. i was holding back with my talent/tutorial (truth be told i´m still not comfortable talking into a mic but thats another thing :) ) for the reason i wanted to prove it´s versatility and effectiveness first and put some proof behind my claims. now that i´ve gotten true survivor with a stable performance to show for i´m much more confident in putting together an explanation of talents and loadout. one key though up front: footwork playing karsolas first to get a glance of whats possible in terms of speed helps for sure, to get a pattern and rough timing so to speak. but when the branx comes into play, sliding and dodging is a main part of getting that fluid in the first place, as well as helping to evade and backtrack while scraping layer after layer of ragers etc. the combo "push/light/heavy" is key to it as well, you see me numerous times getting kicked off balance and the flow broken, then its important to regain "footing" by forcing some heavy attacks until you´re in that horizontal motion again. again, my thanks, so glad you enjoy the content
Havoc seems to require at least one zealot with banishing light or a psyker with bubble, both preferably otherwise it becomes very hard if not impossible.
@@rubatirabbit with a premade and voice i'd say it isnt a hard requirement, bubble does help though. however what pisses me off to no end right now is that ogryn gets more rejected than not despite having ample tools for the job. blight spread for example isnt really an issue using the branx, backtracking and doing a lawnmower maneuver. granted, shooters are an issue hence the bubble but right now peoples minds are hardwired on 2 zealots / 2 psyker and the rest gets the shaft. dunno if i still keep playing havoc when i made 40 given that right now my spare time is more trying to get into a team than actually playing, with the irony of no one joining once my oggy opens a team myself....

Ive been playing bubble purg psyker but I may try some ogryn again here soon. Ive only been playing bubble purg cuz its so helpful in games. My next maps gloriana may have to atleast stick to psyker for now. Ive been letting ogryns in my games cuz bleed and burn is a crazy combo for bosses. I had people leave my hosted lobby once they saw i was ogryn lol. I actually havent seen too many psykers which is kinda crazy to me cuz psykers are so impactful in games you would think there would be more of us. I dont have the balls to play with venting shriek otherwise id ditch the bubble lol.
@@infrared6973 i get why people play it "safe" when stuff is new and methods unproven yet not getting the chance to pop a havoc 40 whenever i got the time and said time's ticking away looking for a squad is pissing me off to put it mildly. there are great dudes offering help on my way to 40,but in the grand scheme of things i'd like to wrap up 4 matches back to back on a day off at my schedule with the class i chose to play the game with. in that regard ogryn got the shaft until people grow a pair as time passes on. ironically unless whole team goes belly up i was having good results with my oggy so far in havoc. just no means to prove it in party finder 😕

@@infrared6973 yep, got a keen eye there 👍 ogryn's big anyway. for my aggressiv playstyle at least no such thing as taking cover other than slide/dodge. very rarely i get pinned or retreat behind an obstacle and truth be told, as a line of sight breaker, it works regardless of your chars height. now for the benefits: bully I club and, when aiming up, pickaxe lets me whack over the shield of a bulwark (ironically club being more reliable) and the other neat trick is a simple hop lets you deal heatshots with the kickback and send them on their asses😁 now most of the time the game allows for waiting for their "openers" but lately there's been more clusters with overlapping animations catching your attack as a bundle of sorts. so yes, big boy made biggest boy has its advantages 😄
@ imma start playing max height ogryn again. I knew that was a thing but i had lowered it for whatever reason. Right now im loving the new achlys stubber and im always playing branx but i think the achlys pairs well with karsolas as well. Couldnt seem to win a game yesterday but I played as best I could lol

@@TheBryanrice1991 due to exactly that same issue, level 21, the match i uploaded yesterday. other than that, a clusterfuck of clueless people that either get floored at the first engagement (gotten carried through a maelstrom prior in order to join havoc) or straight team rejects cause:no ogryn moah domes i get theres a tight pacing but ironically being the last standing in an unsalvageable shitshow and the lobby leader whining about "thx for demoting" well thats the playerbase for ya😁

We gotta get some index stubber gaming. I think theyre pretty cool but im still getting used to the krourk. I will say I dont like how much I feel like I reload with them cuz it takes a minute but they are strong.
no promises =D thing is, i hated the stubber penance with a passion. it´s so against my playstyle and i can hardly get a decent flow with them. that´s not to say stubber aint powerful, quite the contrary. they just heavily rely on a team thats in its toes all the time and keep your back from getting swarmed every 5 meters. what i tested in the psykanium was the krourk heavy stubber, seems the most balanced all around. now it does push out decent damage but when it comes to sliding/movement, there´s always a delay even after your slide came to a stop. so a pause on top of the pause, if that makes sense. what i like with the kickback is it flowing naturally into a melee attack an vise versa, like a extension of each other. stubber is ranged / pause / melee / pause. i try to get a HISTG done the next days, main goal for now though is havoc 40. still scratching my head about how to pull that off with randoms =D
@ ogryn is very difficult to play in havoc due to shooter damage ramping up once you get deeper into havoc but it has been done so its possible. Im probably going to take my psyker in just because its something to do but I know high havoc is pure insanity so who knows. I have seen people saying its totally doable and we all know all the noobs wont make it oast 20 anyway. People are going to be running meta gear and new things so you just gotta find the right group. I quite enjoy playing with randoms but thats really all I ever do anyway so it is what it is.
agreed, same with the twins, when you find the right group it just clicks and feels like a breeze. kinda whats the charm of randoms and a curse at the same time =D so far i´ve seen people hesistant on inviting anyone else beside speedy zealots and dome psykers. granted, psyker made for a nice cushion but at the same time there´s people in havoc 20+ that dont know how to use momentum and go for a stroll instead o.O then again im glad i can still amp up my kickback pickaxe play, still feels the most fluid and natural for me so far

@@OldDevlin "batter" gives bleed on enemies hit with heavy attacks. since last branx horizontal swing is a heavy in the 3 strike combo it worked as the bleed generator when whacking hordes. since elites are mixed into very often they keep bleeding for a little longer 😁 but since yesterdays update i gonna redo the talent video anyways and try to comment this time. secondly the perk in question was for my taste a better choice leading to an offensive one below rather than the two defensive on the left, whereas i got enough toughness regeneration if i just keep killing fast. So this here build is the most straight forward "get stuff dead quick" i could come up with 😀 no stupid question at all and glad my build could help👍

if the team is fine with doing the auspex part without folding, this place up there (with ogryn height) gives you a good vantage point on the spawns. given the kickbacks damage potential and the quite close range, you can pick them off before they get a problem for the folks below. anyways glad i could be of help 👍

@@tinybike the gunlugger for me personally feels to static, to the point i need to go against my playstyle to make it work. with kickback, ironically the one shot "crude tube", i can move, slide and generaly keep a faster pace. stubber for example has a brief deadzone after a slide comes to the end meaning that even after the movement stopped theres a slight pause. bracing(naturally) makes you almost stationary and situations tend to stir out of my control real quick after that. the stubber can play to its strengths when theres a team having your back. if you get horde harassed at every given moment i'll soak a lot of damage real quick

Have you ever thought about doing a video about this specific build and how to master it? Like auto cancelation, dodge slides, when to use what in certain situations? I play kickback and branx as well but I dont seem to get anywhere near where you are performing at. I take way too much damage as well especially as an orgyn and dont seem to find any solution. There dont seem to be many people on yt that focus on ogryn gameplay which I find very sad.

8:18 ogryn math example: multiple bombers some maulers and other stuff in between option 1, let them flood the room disperse and attack from multiple ankles or option 2, charge the cluster pay with a tiny fraction of health minus the toughness thats back there i a couple seconds.
12:35 so here i was slimed by the beast of nurgle, slowed down and little options to get away from being eaten. what to do ? use poxburster as rocket jump to make distance fast at the cost of toughness instead of soaking up corruption. ogryn big brain time 🤯
2:45 red stims boost grenade damage as well.... the more you know 😄 7:30 not gonna go back there, team´s cut off, use it or lose it 8:51 don´t let ranged enemies play out their strenght, pressure them and force em to seize their barrage, you got more than enough toughness regain to go into melee
8:50 remember when fighting a slug, pillars boxes and other obstacles are your friend. in case of those boxes, even if slimed to the brim it cant get to you up there and focus solely on you, showing its vulnerable rear to your mates. 18:11 know when to commit and when to disengage, 4 people quick in the elevator are worth more than killing the cluster of gunners that gonna re-engage next floor anyways.
6:30 this one here played out well cause the mates knew what they were doing, but remember folks the battery room is a gifted choke point. room here has 3 stages, 2 of which can be done from a distance (theoretically all three if the team is on board with it) retreating to this room means no ranged enemy can get you if you stay away from the openings and there´s 2 of them so enemies can only come from these 2. most teams are too inexperienced to sustain the fight in the open and wipe at that point.
3:30 the encounter might look chaotic and discourage never players seeing that density for the first time. after a while though you see a certain "order" in which you need to take the pawns off the chessboard. as with the mutant charging from the horde, use a corner for cover, this way he wont pummel you having you shoved into a solid obstacle 11:50 to throw or not to throw, thats the question, sah. for all things going on on screen indicators were showing a tight spot. clinging on a medpack, that would be made useless come the station or for all i know could spawn again in any other crate after this point, could have cost us the run then and there. use it or lose it.
3:52 the fine line between over extending and biting more than you can chew and (if it works as planned) thinning the crowd for your team, keeping them occupied and take pressure from your mates. this time it was the later, just as a reminder this can get you in a net very quickly as well 😵💫 DO try this at home, but use ogryn big rashun brain 🤪

If I had a quarter for everytime someone goes right in that alley way and dies instead of the small cut through on the left id be the richest man in the world. Dont get me wrong ive lost runs in that small room due to being over run by enemies but people love to go right and get sandwiched between enemies from all angles and die which is always funny. Plus all the resources and crates are left anyway. Everytime we hit that med station I always ping left and they go right and die it never fails. Like dudes I have 2,000 hours in this game I know where all the crates are lol and I dont even need resources im doing this for yall ha. I dont care about plasteel i care about med/ammo crates and stims but people tend to forget that. Also one of my favorite things here lately is the dumb martyrdom zealot who refuses to heal then dies immediately after you tell them to hit the med station and then they leave the game when you tell them building to go down and relying on teammates to get you up is a losing strategy and they should build to stay alive😂
@@infrared6973 this feels like a 3 piece riddle to be honest. first and foremost i cant understand people not learning by sheer exposure. talent, skill, dedication, whatever take all of that away (and often times it aint present in the first place) all this repetition up to this very moment can simply not have left any memory or "pavlovian effect", can it? the most boring shit at school/work can be clobbered into the most empty cranium by repetition, but not in an environment people chose for fun? second, self reflection. it cant be the first time the dude folded under such circumstances, why force himself into such situation? clearly this cant be a satisfying experience for any of the participants. dude got carried and didnt even endure it to the end, heck he fell flat in the very start of the map. third, commitment to false decisions in the face of everyone else doing the right thing. in every engagement i look for a chokepoint or the least exposed position. like you said, nothing literally nothing gained from chosing the path without ressources cover or option to retreat to a plan b) and thats the moment i dont bother with rezzing anymore. i plan ahead for fuckups to a degree and rlght at the start i paid a bit of my ressources to get him back on his feet. but i wont jeopardize the run to pay for any obviously wrong decisions, on repeat that is 😁 lastly 1 wound zealots as you point out are another issue, cause most see the 1337-op-zoom-spec video, copy paste without a thought and wonder why they dont get the same results. i could pop the same amount of gear as mr olympia, it'd still end with me in a morgue instead of a stage. pro's can pull off some impressive zealotry, only problem is, most people aint pro 😅
@ yeah my thoughts are usually all over the place lol and you got that right but zealot has the highest skill ceiling and thats qhy I dont play zealot outside of damnation for contracts cuz i dont really like zealot like that. Martyrdom for the most part is a noob trap for average players but it means more med stims for me so hell idrc. Im fairly certain its already proven via the math that momentum is better and im pretty sure playing with the cooldown spam of left tree is better for the average player anyway. What i find even more funny are the zealots who play with 4 or 5 wounds but not the full 7 only dipping into that tree which means they also arent maximizing the damage of martyrdom. I really dont understand the point of needing 7 wounds in this game cuz why would you ever wanna go down that many times between med stations anyway it makes zero sense as a playstyle. Its like these people think theyre so good at the game they cant dare ever be rescued meanwhile they usually end up corrupted and dead anyway. 99% of zealot players are not so good that they need 7 wounds so that they dont ever need to be rescued when you should never be going down 5 6 7 times a game or between med stations anyway.
@ nuke grenade has been helping me alot since I went back to it. I usually try to throw it when I can get anywhere between 4-6 good elite or special kills or if i need to revive someone whose down. Yesterday I stole 3 charges from ammo crate for grenades cuz nobody else was using them lol. I was like idc sometimes u gotta be selfish.

What do you think about new ogryn stubbers? Im kinda pissed were just getting new stubbers cuz we already have stubbers. I also dont really understand why were getting variants of stubbers that are semi automatic when braced and automatic when hipfired cuz to me that sounds like a clunky mess and most people only ever use stubbers on point blank barrage builds anyway. Ive wanted more automatic weapons on ogryn but a weapon only ever being automatic if you hipfire with it was not at all what I thought we would be getting. I mean ill take whatever they are willing to give but we already have stubbers and now once again we have more semi automatic weapons coming for ogryn as if he doesnt already have enough of those as is. Obviously I havent played with them but im struggling to imagine a world where they are meta or picked over other weapons. Ive been trying to play more rumbler and gg but im prolly gonna go back to kickback cuz you run out of ammo since so many vets dont play with survivalist nowadays and i hate not being able to deal with snipers depending on the map.
the problem lies with fatsharks understanding of "content" in general. at first glance "new weapons" would count towards adding said content. however the large redundance in weapon categories and total "duds" like the knive VI, ripper VI, power maul and krourk stubber means item wise we got "enough" weapons, most are just so inferior to the rest. unless one goes for a special personal challenge clearing stuff with the crappiest equipment, i don´t see any use for them. as soon as the pickaxes were availabe every other melee weapon fell short in comparison. to the point i made my playstyle around the branx as of now, for utilizing every aspect of this particular weapon feels better to any other by leaps and bounds. its not just a "preference" thing but the gap in performance is huge in my opinion. shield doesn´t warrant its lack of killing speed being a "defensive" weapon cause i simply clear the screen with the branx in 1/5th of the time it´d take for the heavy attack with the shield to do the same. planting is a noob trap and going defensive in general means enemies clot up to a wipe/tilting point if the rest of the team doesn´t do its job. personally i don´t like the stubber for its choppy flow, the pause between braced and unbraced (and yes every mode got its moment) is pretty situational/static and not as fluid as say the kickback or ripper. most of my style revolves around mobility and movement in general. stubber means being slow, sometimes stopped dead in my tracks and soon dead in general. hated the stubber penance with a passion, never did i take so much unecessary damage due for all the "wrong" reasons. furthermore stubber seems to be a "support" weapon, you need to be undisturbed from hordes or single ankle biters to concentrate on doing your job whereas kickback and ripper can slither around like an eel, push in damage, take out clusters of enemies and be out of the cluster before getting boxed in. as an ogryn i´m most comfortable as the "playmaker" not the rear backup. same with the "new" sword or rather making it available for classes that previously had no access to it. total gamechanger and making others obsolete. so fatshark as of today has a pretty distinct pattern of sunsetting older weapons in bulk instead of adjusting them to the new "norm" when adding new stuff cause most of the playerbase will jump to the new and shiny. i´d like to play with bully I / krourk IV or even shield again, but as often as i need to clutch and carry, the branx is just too good a safety net.

Correct! You can tell from the start if it's going to the end or if it's literally going to end. Plus, I agree with you on the forums. Health Ogryn's reign supreme! Got 579 on mine, Sah! Also, I'm skeptical of playing with players 100 & below. Only because they may not have the experience on this difficulty. A great indicator before I go in game is looking at their weapons if they're not upgraded, I leave. Also, If they have the Auric 100 missions insignia, hard mode or flawless on them that's at least a better sign of a decent player in my eyes. You cannot really cheese those insignias too much! The thing that's wild is that Vet had Voice of Command & they still all folded like a cheap lawn chair, yikes!
@@TheBryanrice1991 healthy ogryn in my opinion has a lot of benefits toughness doesnt provide, whereas toughness itself is far easier to replenish. all in all, beefy ogryn is "stabil" 😁 those things mentioned are indeed a better gauge of the experience and performance of a player. hard mode twins is rarely carried (i wager most did it with randoms and few having access to full premades) so in this tight environmenr everyone has to deliver his part. also titles that indicate a certain volume of matches under ones belt are far more reliable, i mean touching a hot oven eventually has to enforce something in behavior for the better, no? 😅 lastly, while i get the point of inferior loadout, personally i'm at the point of expection the "usual suspects" to fail or perform poorly. got my doubts they'd do much better with any perk or blessings for most of the time the fundamentals just aint there. but of course its a valid metric and recipe for desaster, no doubt. at a certain point ogryn mode take over however "Papa macht das schon" 😜
@@IndexGamingChannel Yeah, exactly if you have friends that are decent Hard Mode would be a bit easier, but like you said with randoms it's just harder because there's little to no coordination. I did mine with randoms took me personally 10 tries with different people it sucked, but we got it. Had an easier time with the Flawless insignia lol. Yes, somebody said that to me & it stuck with me... Toughness you can always regenerate, health you cannot. Even with like 140-180 toughness you're still good honestly. It’s not like you’re hyper fragile with that amount of toughness. Plus, I've tried 266 which is the max toughness on Ogryn with 300 hp & it never went well lol. At least in harder situations that is.
I think putting 100 penance points in the game between auric and maelstrom was a horrible decision on fatsharks part because its the sole reason why these malice players are in auric and maelstrom expecting to get carried through missions. Also once they realize how much better auric and maelstrom players are compared to the cesspool of noobs that is damnation they stay because at least they can get carried. They know that every 5 missions completed they get more penance points. These are people that constantly go down in regular damnation games who would never have any reason in maelstrom or hi shock missions nor do they have any experience with them either.
@@infrared6973 Pretty much... It's a huge problem. Nowadays, most people are going down & I have to pick them up & try & clutch hard. It's tiring, Sah. I wasn't ready for those difficulties at least till I was nearing level 100. Once I see people in the load out screen below 100 with shit weapons or blessings or even non-upgraded stuff, I leave asap. Sometimes I don't mind carrying because it gives another layer of difficulty, but enough is enough it happens too much. I feel like once people think that because they just hit level 30 or a bit over they're ready for something harder which is a mistake. It takes a lot of practice. I'd say, I'm an above average player not to toot my own horn, but even with my experience having three shit players can be hard & will result in a wipe.
agreed, highest difficulty should be its own reward clearing and personal progression the overall goal. come to think of it, penances are indeed a part of the problem. funny cause i got plenty of them unfinished (and i guess they´ll stay that way for a while) for some are bound to books/grims or other stuff i´d need to step down in setting. up until recently i was exclusively doing auric maelstrom, so map pool itself is limited by the hour / rng. lately i´m testing if HISTG is indeed the "better" experience, for one can only do so many "hounds/mutants" modifiers and still feel "meh" in the end compared to a fun I II V E G or C I VI. if i had to make a wager i´d say havoc at first will have many of those passengers you point out but hopefully in the long run will provide a platform from which one can pick the most demanding settings. but yeah, we need a mode without any incentive for people hopping on hoping for an easy carry, for players that don´t need any mats or other stuff anymore anyways.
