They do allow you to PC but they don’t if your a company driver. You don’t need to log your time to search for loads. The load will not it switch on duty ever. They have tons of loads on the west but mainly for teams. They have tons of loads from nj going west or northwest without slipping it up. He can move to any partner companies for $500 such as Jp hunt. Just a few corrections but the rest was true.
I just got my class A
I see ic drivers in California all the time lately
Sean! we were in the same Orientation class back March or April of 2021. ended up coming across your videos looking into PTL
@@WhiteLineFever1999 PTL was a decent company to drive for They are very flexible with home time The areas that I had problems with were the management team members. You have to stay on top of them and force them to do their job which is to plan ahead of you to keep you rolling. You also have to keep track of Accessoral pay like Detention, layover, lost miles and breakdown pay. They won’t just automatically give it to you. All in all PTL was a decent company Dry Van is much simpler and it’s easier to make your money and go home
I frigging hated Melton It was always a fight to go home and they had put me in some ridiculous situations with the whole Forced dispatch thing. I’ve been driving a long time and 2 things bother me and if they take place I leave asap They are 1 don’t tell me how to run my clock My clock is my clock and I run it the way I feel comfortable with and do so to reduce stress which in turn reduces my fatigue. The other is don’t disrespect me I respect everyone in management and the moment a manager flips me shit and refuses to listen to my valid arguments as to why I shouldn’t run a load then they should listen. If I can see a problem days in advance then we should work together to avoid the problems when I run out of time or end up on a hot load without enough time. That’s flat out disrespect of the professional driver that I am period and it’s a hard no go for me lmao I know when to put my foot down and say no and if a company can’t face that reality then I will find the exit door
you look fit/healthy. what do you eat on the road brother ??
@@OGkush69xI eat what every other driver eats. lol I can only attribute my healthy appearance to my relationship with God Spiritually I am very healthy Physically though my body is in rough shape

Man you are a blessing! I was thinking about jumper from Schneider intermodal (local 7 years) I gross about$1600 weekly. I wanted to go to sfi but not now! Thank you brother
@@ironthronebullyz506 yeah don’t believe the lies!!! The Schneider program is based on the market rates and the market rates are crap right now Check out the DAT national van rates The market for vans is in the toilet When the rates go back up then it may be a different story but right now rates are down and the freight ratio to trucks is too low
Do u believe a person can come back to Christ even after sinning and walking away from Him? Even after sinning wilfully? For a long time, even after many inner and outer rebukes?
@@fredjackson7613 yes I believe that Christ is sufficient even for the lowliest sinner Our faith is what is at stake The faith in Christ and the sufficiency of his sacrifice and power over sin. When we are talked out of our faith by other people due to others condemning us then we go astray. Many many people think that a walk with God is subject to external experience and that the view of man shapes our worth but I tell you that our walk with him is between us and Christ and God. Our walk is about repenting and turning toward God because God earned that worship by dying on the cross. He earned the right to lead us He promised to send the Holy Spirit to guide us and teach us. He promised to NEVER forsake us So let me ask you What part of that involves the opinions of man? None of that matters Christ rebuked the religious leaders in the gospels and called them hypocrites because they weren’t getting into heaven and that they were pushing others away Don’t allow others to tell you what a relationship with God looks like We are to look to him and seek a relationship with him We are to allow his power to transform us and that is sanctification and it’s a process that is on Gods time line and God is the judge not man.
This is great amount of information about these predatory practices that violate all kind of moral and ethical principles. They know full well that they are taking on more lease operators than they have freight for. The problem is people have this big dream of being almost truck owner and don’t realize how ugly it gets in a hurry. I really don’t know how it’s legal. There should be guarantees in place that better benefit the driver.
@@CForged yeah it’s a joke Too many people that don’t know better get suckered into it The sad thing is that my trainee went and signed up with them after I showed him the numbers while he was training with me I warned him thoroughly smh
@@seancahalinchristianbrothe1400 it’s too exciting to pass up. Just throw the sails to the wind
If they hit me in the back then that's there fault. I drive in the right pass in the left. Check blind spots when switching lanes.
@@marcgannello2923 you’re missing the point of what I am talking about I’m talking about initiating a pass when going too slow or not being able to complete the pass and then hanging out in the middle or left lane (camping next to another truck) That is illegal and unsafe

Always my biggest question when it came to pulling a reefer unit was sleep. With that constant cycling diesel engine that runs for the reefer unit behind you does it keep your from getting any sleep.
You get used to it after a while I have gotten back into reefer since I made this video
Really great video. I will be going into training in the next couple of weeks and I hope I'm lucky enough to get a trainer like you
How much were you grossing a week as a trainer ?
I was pretty much training for free under the guise of a bonus program It payed 200 bucks a week plus extra miles plus a bonus match with the trainees once they went solo The problems were 1 we were only allowed to run solo loads 2 after my trainees went solo, they weren’t able to hit the bonuses and neither was I half the time. It sucked and I quit
Thanks for sharing! I appreciate your honesty about the company and providing details of your experience.
Really good videos brother God bless
How long does it take to get started I spoke with lady today said I would go to Laredo
So I was reading one of your comments where you were saying it might not be so good to work for PTL do you have any other reasons for not liking that company?.. I'm getting ready to go to orientation on Wednesday They're putting me regional
The only major issue that I had with this company was management You have to stay on top of dispatch and do half of their job on top of doing yours They have too many trucks and not enough fleet managers so allot of details get missed and allot of issues come up.
@@seancahalinchristianbrothe1400 besides the not being organized enough are they at least easy to deal, with good attitudes? This will be my first trucking job so excited and nervous hopefully I get a trainer that actually trains and is easy to get along with.
@@moderngunguy3666 how do I put this? They are a bunch of hillbillies from the backwoods of Kentucky with Low IQ and allot of heart They don’t manage things very well but they try their best to keep you rolling They have issues with management turnover and management is overworked When I worked there I was a seasoned driver who had taken a bunch of time off from driving and came back. They gave a great opportunity and paid me well. Basically when they train you, hopefully you get a decent trainer who understands how to teach and not just expect you to hold the steering wheel. Some of my trainees had a good experience and others struggled and that is impossible to predict.
@@seancahalinchristianbrothe1400 Okay well I'm going to give it a shot see how it goes. I need to at least get some experience.. I had to go with them because they were questioning me the least about my work history I don't have a lot of work history a lot of companies didn't want to hire me because of my work history.. So hopefully they don't ask too many questions when I get there lol 🤣
@@moderngunguy3666 nah they don’t care about work history They were willing to hire me when I took 8 years off from trucking Allot of other companies wouldn’t give me a chance after being out of trucking for that long. All in all they are a decent company just gotta hustle, stay focused and watch your money.
Do you go into New York/New York City a lot? Or at all even
They sent me into the Northeast every once in a while but it’s an option You can choose not to go northeast and not to run New York
@@seancahalinchristianbrothe1400 Okay that's good. I'm still learning I need to get my backing down. They sent me the rental car information I'll be heading out there probably sometime Monday and then be there for orientation on Wednesday.
Are you allowed to bring your spouse and dog with you once you get your own truck?
Yes After you complete 90 days you can bring a rider out with you and they allow pets Not sure of all the details but allot of drivers have dogs at Knight
What company you with now I thought PTL was a good job
It was a decent job and company I moved to knight Transportation because I moved from Arkansas to Idaho Knight Transportation was a decent place as well but didn’t pay well enough I’m currently driving for a small company Doug Andrus Distributing
I am 65 years old 12 years experience been out 14 months PTL will except me just want to do my job with out micro management
@@EverettSinard-ij4xx they won’t micro manage you as long as you do your job and communicate well You will however have to stay on top of dispatch to keep you rolling If you’re capable of doing that then you shouldn’t have many issues

Jesus is awesome!
What systems are in the truck. Pre pass or communication systems.
When I was there they had drivewyze built into their Qualcomm Not sure what they are doing now They were changing their systems over to tablets when I left
I dont think so , the trainer I have has me driving 10 hours then he drivers another 8 hours while I’m trying to sleep , I didn’t sign up for teams for that reason
You’re not the first trainee with Knight that he told me about trainers who are breaking the rules of policy. Here are the facts and your options The trainer was specifically trained to not sleep while the trainee is driving and that after the trainee has driven his time, the trainer can drive an additional 3 hours for a total of 14 maximum hours in a day. He is supposed to log all time on duty and not exceed 14 hours a day. He is supposed to be in the passenger seat at all times while you are driving and he is supposed to shut down the truck for a minimum of 8 hours so that the trainee can get sleep. If he is running the truck in a team manner then he is breaking the rules and you should notify safety and your DDM immediately for violating the safety rules
@@seancahalinchristianbrothe1400 yeah is worried about the miles he hasn’t taught me anything I already don’t know I worked for an ltl as a hostler and my backing is great but every time I back up he starts yelling no because he wants it done his way. I run my time then he drives for 6 hours and expects be to be wide awake 4 hours after he stops driving …I can’t sleep while the truck is rocking all over. Reason why u didn’t ever want to do teams in a 7 day period we ran almost 5400 miles or more.

@@seancahalinchristianbrothe1400 I don’t know what to do I’m from Florida and in Utah I don’t even know how I would even get back at this point I don’t even feel safe with him made me drive a trailer that had air leak and was saying he would tell the manager I was refusing to drive .
@@Zayahs.Gametime call your DDM immediately to cover your side of the issue They will always listen to both sides of any issue If you don’t say anything then the trainer can make up what ever he wants Just make sure you are communicating with your support team If you don’t say something then he will keep training but if you complain and say something then he can be barred from training
I worked for Knight. They are a garbage company.
Does this comapany have inward facing cameras?
Yes they did when I was there
How long have you been driving
8 years
Are experienced drivers able to skip the training?
Depends on the type of equipment and the geographic area you operated in Most OTR companies require you to have relevant experience that is comparable with the position you are applying for. That means that if you have one year experience with a straight truck local work then that won’t work Also if you have tractor trailer experience local only for one year, likewise it won’t be enough Some companies offer shorter training times as in 1 to 2 weeks vs 1 month but I think knight trans makes you go for the full month Definitely have to talk with each company as the qualifications and requirements for their specific company will vary
If your wife leaves you that means only 1 thing...."SHE NEVER LOVED YOU"....a wife is supposed to support everything you do
That’s completely untrue If a wife leaves you it’s entirely possible by the law of accountability that a man didn’t consider his wife to be the MOST IMPORTANT PERSON If a decision causes the wife to become secondary priority to a career than the priorities are not set right
@seancahalinchristianbrothe1400 yea but if the wife doesn't even work at all she should support what the husband is trying to do....let's be honest a housewife isn't work at all...if the house is clean at all times there shouldn't be no mess for her to clean...picking up kids from school and cooking is nothing compared to what a truck driver does....majority of the time the housewife is watching TV or walking at the park.......she should be happy at what her man is trying to do for her.....because to begin with she has no job and can take naps and showers any time she wants.....I'm sure u agree right?
@@imwaytogoodlookingtobeyour1188 No absolutely not I don’t agree Why don’t you stay home, raise the kids, clean the house etc etc and then on top of that have a wife that goes out into the world and provides for you? Oh and to top it off make sure she thinks that you’re worthless and can’t compare to her. How long would you stick around? You have an inflated view of yourself and obviously don’t value women and what God made them for. I have been in 2 failed marriages and have learned these lessons. Women are to be loved like Christ loves the church and gave his life for her. A man likewise is supposed to value his wife above all things and consider her to be just below God in value. That Love is not what you are describing
@seancahalinchristianbrothe1400 there's wife's out there that only use men....guys pay child support when the girl leaves them....because men are dumb....they don't know how to defend themselves....not all girls are angels and should only be favored 100 percent of the time....any man would rather do what the housewife does instead of working....everything she has is because of the man...without the man she has no car or money to put fuel on the car as well as buy things she wants or needs....so in reality the MAN has more responsibility than any housewife will ever have....remember....she would have no car to get around and no money for fuel to put in it ;)
