This is a flip through of my latest completed journal. I love the vintage look of this kit from Vectoria Designs and always keep writing space in mind when I'm making a journal. It's made from the cover of a Reader's Digest Book. The pages have deckle edges and are distressed to add to the vintage look. There are 70 pages (140 front and back), plus booklets, pockets, tuck spots, envelopes, tags...

It's so easy to use water-soluble markers, a piece of acrylic and some water to do many of the techniques we junk journalers and journal makers love to use. I hope this gives you some ideas for ways you can use what you have! (Please excuse the terrible lighting.)

This is a flip through of what my travel journal turned into after our trip was over. Although I expected it to be a little more junk journal-style, I'm overall pretty happy with the result. And I've already enjoyed looking at it multiple times. Stay tuned to the end to hear the lessons I learned and how I will do travel journals differently in the future.

This was my first time participating in a month-long challenge. And it WAS challenging, but also fun. I tried not to worry too much and just let my imagination and creativity take me wherever it would each day. I enjoyed the challenge and I'm proud of myself for completing it (even if it was a few days late).

I've made and used a few different types of travel journals (including one I didn't mention in the video - a Travelers Notebook style). As I am planning for an upcoming vacation I wanted to take the best aspects of the ones I've made before, so I tried making something new and, I think, unique. I'm looking forward to trying it out on my upcoming trip to The Cotswolds in England. I hope you find...
