Nice mod and ideea for 3d printing. As a side-note, PWM does not regulate the voltage or the current, it controls the duty cycle. It creates a square wave, and takes values usually from 0 to 255. At 0 for example, you have no output, at 255 the pin is always on and at 128 (50% duty cycle) the pin is half the time on/ half on (one pulse high one pulse low) etc. The net effect for most consumers is like reducing the voltage since for example at 50% duty cicle you have 5v half the time and 0v the other half, the avarage is the equivalent of 2.5v. This modulation strategy basically takes advantage of the "inertia" of most consumers.

Looks cool. Have you considered a rack and pinion for the x axis? It would add more weight, but could be more reliable. But really, that’s something for later on to even think about. I’d work on the extruder first before worrying about the kinematics.

Just a heads up, you shouldn't place hardware on top of those esd safe bags, as they are actually conductive on the outside. That's how it protects the inside of the bag :)

Your extrusions are not V-Slot. The extrusions seen in this video have a rounded corner on their inner slot. For the wheels that you are trying to use, you need this to be a straight angled edge and not this rounded corner.

Since you will cross-connect the signal wires across from the board to the mosfets, you most probably also need to connect all of the ground wires together. Specifically the output DC ground from both the PSUs should be connected together, so they share a common ground.

Not once when you'd mentioned using 2 MOSFETs, did I think you were referring to those 2 large heatsinked boards. I've never seen such massive MOSFETs! 😲 Are they some kind of industrial model for high current applications? Also, how does the cost of those compare with using IGBTs instead?

I finally had the change to mount all the motors for the 3 axis. I will have one motor for the Z-axia, one for the X-axis and 2 motors for the Y-Axis. I decided 2 for the Y-axis since it will move the entire X-axis and Z-axis together. What is the difference between SPI Mode and SD Mode when comparing the PRO vs Normal TMC5160T? I have Octopus V1.1 (Not PRO version) and I am looking to buy the TMC5160T, but I dont know if I should get the Pro drivers, or the regular ones since I wont be running over 24V on the standard Octopus board. Do you know what SD stands for and what it does? I am trying to figure out if the only difference is the voltage limits, or if there are other features you get with TMC5160T PRO VS. TMC5160T.

I have the Manta M8P v2.0 and I was trying to use motor 5 for second Y. But when I turn on the printer it would just run 10 mm and then stop. Is it only possible to use the first 4 motors for steppers?

I got the new Manta M8P V2 board with TMC5160. The copied the default Manta v1.1 CFG file and change all the pin to match the board. I also have a BIQU Pad 7 which I used to make the Klipper firmware. But the Klipper Pad is unable to communicate with the board. When I do a "ls /dev/serial/by-id/*" I get "No such file or Directory". If I change the USB c "USB-OTG" I get a port, but the Klipper Pad still can't communicate with the board. Since the board are in SPI mode because of the 5160 could that be the reason the UART to USB doesn't work? Since the board pins are different on V2 could the board pin aliases be wrong as well?

The plug and play experience depend on the software you're using. Plug and play with BTT M8P + CB1 and Klipper (ratOs flavour) was not a thing.. I took me a week to understand what went wrong

I'm replacing all electronics on my Reborn 2 and the tutorial didn't mention about jumping the power pins (imagine the frustration looking over and over the printer.cfg thinking that the issue is there). As you might have guessed this is my first serious modification on any 3D printer. I owe You a beer. :D

Thanks for you video. I’ve come skr boards, just moved one of my printers to the octopus max ez. Having a dedicated power section is new to me but very awesome.

I'm just trying to give you some feed back to help you make your videos better because you have a few videos that i was interested to watch to help me with my config but they are hard to follow sometimes because you seem like you r nervous about speaking and sounds like you have a great plan before you start recording but then when you do start recording you get nervous and it seems like you start to go off track a bit and repeat yourself. Also use a darker to highlight something you can't really see that yellow that well. But keep it up I'm sure you'll get better and I'm sure its not easy to speak so much and not forget some things especially since English isn't even your first language. You're doing a better job than most.
