Join Azza and myself in part 2 as we work our way back East through the Otways. A big part of any adventure is how you get there and not so much where you end up.

WR250 Rehab Ride

A little over 5 months since I snapped my leg it was time to jump back on the horse that bucked me off. With a little bit of apprehension I manned up and rode sweep for an organised Facebook ride. With a wide range of bikes I follow along as can you by watching this video. I hope you enjoy.
Ride the High Country - Part 3
Просмотров 1,2 тыс.Год назад
This is part 3 of a video series that I have been pretty slack putting together. Filmed over 4 days early February 2022 a group of good mates set off on a 1300km loop through some of the most picturesque areas if Victoria and NSW. Maybe it's just me but It's hard not to get motivated to jump back on the bike after watching these sort of videos. I hope you enjoy.
WR250R - Titanic Bon Voyage

With the little WR250R fully setup for its maiden camping voyage I head off into the unknown. Little did I know how quickly and dramatically my plans would change. Sitting on a bush track in 39 degree heat with a broken leg is certainly not how I planned my day. A massive thanks to all involved. If you want to watch how the trip unfolded from different perspective then jump over to Azza's chann...

love the fact he carries toilet paper at the back of the helmet!!!
I’m the ideas man 🤪
Yamaha should be ashamed for discontinuing this bike.
I don’t think it’s Yamaha’s fault as to make these bikes compliant to the new regulations just isn’t feasible
Off road bikes and you missed the epic dirt trails from Aireys Inlet to Apollo Bay via the hills.
Just another reason to head back 👌. Thanks for watching 👍
Great video mate. Subscribed :-)
@@in2ADV cheers mate. Glad you enjoyed it👍
I see what you mean, great riding
Certainly good fun 👌
I think someone really enjoyed that track lol butiful country
@@andronuss loved the whole lot but the Hay River track just flows 👌
Good stuff mate, looking forward to the full videos!
Cheers Josh. I was just wondering the other day how you got on with your Simpson Crossing. I hope you are well.
@@bikeaction. Had to push it back to September, hoping it's not too hot when we get there!
@AusMoto you’ll love it mate. Easier going than what you just did. I don’t like giving advice as I’m far from any expert but keeping your bikes as narrow as possible will make it more enjoyable in my experience. I know that’s easier said than done but the brush on the side of the tracks can be brutal on gear 😳
@@bikeaction. Noted, thanks mate!
Are you ok to share your height and bar setup? I’m considering changing mine. Thanks
G'day Rob. I'm just under 6 foot with a longer torso than legs. The bars I have on the bike are the Protaper "Pastrana FMX/ATV Race" or at least that is what is written on them. Just watch going too high as your cabling my not be long enough
@@bikeaction. Thanks for the info, I'll look up those bars.
Great footage and great commentary - thanks for sharing. Couple of quick questions if I may - what milage did you do on your tyres, what street/road pressures did you use and tell me, did you get any flats?
Glad you enjoyed the video mate. I got over 10 thousand kilometres out of the tyres but the front Rallz should have been changed around 9 thousand as it starts to heel and toe pretty badly. If I’m mainly doing road riding I’d keep the pressure up around 30 pounds but through the Flinders I ran 25 pound all round. No flats in the duration of these tyres 👍
Great work mate
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
Another good video mate. Headn to Darling river run tomoz.
Thanks mate. Great time of year to be doing the Darling river run. Enjoy and keep me posted 👍👍
Hi Steve. Our Darling River is going well. We are at Swan Hill n heading to Mansfield. Could you pls recommend a route to Dargo pub that is not to difficult as we are loaded up & don't want to be dropping our bikes. Cheers mate.
Sorry mate. Been away and just read this now so my answer is not going to help you. I hope the trip is going well👍👍
All good mate. We ended up going down to Jameison n across to Licola thru the mountains, fantastic trail n roads. Stayed at Bairnsdale. We did the snowy River Rd n barry way to Jindabyne. Thanks for Ur reply.
I had that port Campbell beach to myself on the morning I stayed there. I even left my thongs near the step and picked them up later. Just the way I like it.
Booooooring
I thought it was too. Then I watched your channel. Thanks for the motivation🤭
@@bikeaction. Won't help ya.
Shame about that😟
frustrating hearing the Gps girl all the time, why would you have audio on?
Cheers
G'day. Really like your videos & your photography is very good. We are planning a trip to the Flinders Ranges from Toowoomba in September. What month did you go there? We are unfamiliar with the seasons/weather.
You’ll love it mate. Middle to end of September is when I was there.
Love to see the video and also the black/white foto.
Thanks Hans. Something special about B&W👍
Another ripper video Great tunes to Thank you
Cheers mate. Nice to know these videos are enjoyed. Thanks for dropping by👍👍
wow great video and pics! I love Australia very much. I rode my pusbhike 2012-2014 from Munich to Singapore and from 2014 for 1,5years around Australia. Perth to Perth including Tassie. I then I have been living for one year in NZL.... and I stayed in the Prairie Hotel as well ! very lovely place !
Sounds like you’ve had some great adventures out here mate and I’m sure there’s more waiting for you. Thanks for watching 👍
Another great one Robbo, yes when you do a walk around ya bike they certainly keep adding up lol. Cheers
Thanks Pete. We’re both guilty of gadgetry🤣😂
Been a fantastic adventure to watch and what butiful landscape and country just waiting to be discovered
I certainly enjoyed the challenge. Glad you enjoyed tagging along👍👍
Great videos bro. I'm doing the Darling river run in late April with a few mates. Watching Ur videos gives me a good insight to what's ahead of us. T700 are great bike. I have a T7 WR. Can't wait. Keep adventuring bro.
Thanks Geoff. You will have a ball. Keep in touch and don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions regarding your trip. Make sure you give me some feedback after your Darling River Run👍👍
It's been brilliant. Thank you.
Thanks mate. It’s been my pleasure👍
Good stuff mate, I'm thinking about getting a Zumo XT, starting to get sick of using the phone so might give it a shot.
Certainly worth considering mate. That or a cheap tablet in hard case👍
I plan to go through Balranald on my next trip to Broken hill and beyond. So thanks for showing us a bit of the town. Never seen any other adventurer videos go through there as far as I can remember.
My pleasure mate. I hope you enjoy your trip👍👍
I really want to get decal / stickers for my Safari Tank, where did you get yours?
I got mine made up here. dmkdesigns.com.au
Awesome video thanks for sharing this journey.
Thanks mate. Glad you enjoyed tagging along👍
Love it, awesome countryside.....How cools the Woolshed. .Great Vid.
Thanks Azz. Certainly different to what we are use to around home
Great job Steve. I was in Menindee couple of times and each time access to Kinchega Woolshed was closed due to rain. Definitely great destination and great riding. It does get very exciting in the wet especially on bigger bikes loaded up with camping gear.
Thanks mate. Missed out a couple of times myself due to weather. Most people can’t fathom how quickly the conditions can change in these areas and doing it solo requires a little more restraint.
@@bikeaction. 100%
Superb as always Robbo. Cheers
Thanks again mate
Good one Robbo! Your videos are always great to watch. Loved Mungo NP. Camped there with my wife (pre-Covid) and got some cracker photos ;) From memory, the one-way went the other way (eg anti-clockwise)
Hey Steven great series I have a T7 as well geat bike have spent some time out around Menindee Mungo ect great part of Australia.
Glad you have enjoyed this series mate. Some great areas out that way if you want some adventure
Normally head somewhere out that way when we have the chance have stayed in the huts you were talking about at Menindee they are pretty good well set up and cheap.
I’ll certainly be going back up that way but I’ll be doing a little more homework on the area beforehand👍
We live in a truly amazing country, thanks for showing it to us. So many places to see on a motorbike, my time will come.
So true mate. We have an abundance of opportunities if we choose to get off our backsides 👌👌
Amazing. Great instalment.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for sharing Robbo your eye and camera did justice to the architecture, really like your compositions and hi dynamic range of your images. I wish more folk would venture off the beaten tracks in that country the places and the people you meet are memorable.
My pleasure mate. I could certainly go back to a lot of these locations and spend more time there👍
Squeaky McSqeakerson !
😂🤣. Oh for some silicon spray 🤔
that woolshed is amazing! Great upload sir Cheers Jim
It sure is! Glad you liked it mate
Love you videos, I have a t7 heading on a 5 weeks trip through the flinders in May. You’re a inspiration
Thanks mate. The Flinders ranges and the T7 are a match made in motorbike heaven. You’ll have a ball. Keep me posted👍👍
I’m really enjoying this series. It’s great seeing places that most of us will never have the chance to visit.
Glad you liked it mate. It’s hard for us to get around to everywhere in this world but thanks to the internet we get to share via video for all to see. Thanks for watching 👍👍
Looks like a great trip. Thx for sharing.
It was and it’s my pleasure 👍👍
great upload cheers Jim
Thanks mate. Glad you enjoyed it👍👍
16:21 at Wilcannia there is a secret BP servo out the back. The town is worth looking at by staying on ya bike of course and riding through the Main Street. Very different to anywhere else. Dad drove us through there as a kid years ago. And I rode my bike through a couple of years ago and it’s gotten better. But all the old stuff is worth looking at.don’t just stop and get fuel and keep going.
I’ve been to Wilcannia many times and know that I’ve seen enough of it over the years both good and bad.
@@bikeaction. agree it can be a rough town but my comment was directed to others that have never been there. Don’t just drive straight through after getting fuel. ⛽️ Go for a ride up the Main Street. Checkout the old bridge as well. But no don’t leave anything unattended.
Looks like ya had great trip Robbo…
Thanks Pete. I know you’d enjoy riding up there. Plenty of places to explore👍👍
@@bikeaction.keep me posted of your Simpson plan… I’d most likely be keen😉
Beautiful lake at the end. Spectacular mate. My only disappointment in this video is you've cut the beard off!! 🤔😈🤣 I did notice in the other videos and your hunting video but I was hoping it would make a return. It didn't. 😢😂
😂🤣 beard’s long gone and can’t see it coming back in a hurry. Some great locations to explore around those lakes👍👍
Menindee has some really good spots to camp. Don't tell any one 😂
Certainly no shortage of options when it comes to camping there. I can see myself going back and dedicating more time to exploring that area👍👍
Back it in Eddie !
Well. Eddie wasn’t there to lock it in😂🤣
I live in Wodonga and have eaten in the nest cafe heaps of times on bike rides . You could of gone from Tumbarumba to Barlow on some fantastic off road riding . Then another great 👍 ride from Tumut to Wee Jasper , brings you out at Yass , then also some great off road to Cowra and Bathurst onwards to Dubbo . Hems maps is fantastic ( you can can the BIG picture on the map 🗺️, like dirt roads etc .
Thanks for the feedback mate. Sounds like a good reason to head back up that way soon👍
I watch a lot of you tube motorbike content, epic stuff Mate. In South Australia we have a similar zoo (Monarto) I did a similar video, not quite as polished as yours though 😎. Take care
Thanks mate. Nice to know these videos are appreciated. I must have just about ridden right past that Monarto zoo on my way over to the Flinders ranges a couple years ago. Never knew it was a thing. Thanks for watching👍👍
Just came across your channel, nice bike, was thinking of buying one myself, what camera set up do you have? Some great pictures of the birds......😊
I hope you enjoy the content mate. The Tenere 700’s are a fabulous machine in which you won’t be disappointed. I use a variety of cameras but mainly the Sony A7 range. Thanks for watching👍
Hey Mate, very impressed with your editing, great to watch. Pleased you kept the bike up and the footage at the end was fantastic 😎
Thanks mate. Always try my best. Glad you enjoyed it
Nice video, always fun recognizing places you ride through as I did that same ride solo from Wangaratta up around lakr Hume and up onto the snowies. I assume you weren't impressed by Winton wetlands? No comments about it after you left 😅
Small world mate but lucky we have a great part of it down south 👍👍. Winton wetlands from a photographers point of view is always just going to be an early morning or late evening event. I’ll go back to do that at some stage👍
