Sailing with a self-made sailboat. Silvija had enough of sailing, realizing that she was too old for all this, and the fact that there was no independent person who can be with her constantly, plays a significant role, also considering that it is 43 degrees in Spain, the decision was made to return. However, I'm back on my sailboat and do what l always do. See you soon...

It is a big chance for me, to gain experience on these difficult waters, with strong currents and traffic. In this series, you will see a lot of everything, the story will be about Silvija who has circumnavigated the world ...

They didn't build boats together. Rassy bought Hallberg's boatbuilding business and kept the name as the Name Hallberg was well known. To keep his name and put it in front of his own was just good selling strategy.
A Brit here who has owned a Rasmus for almost 20 years and sailed her over 20,000nm around Britain, the Bay of Biscay and the Mediterranean……once you know how she’s very manoeuvrable and I can get her into the tightest of berths with confidence………..bow thrusters IMHO are the equivalent of stabilisers on a child’s bicycle, when you now how to handle the boat they become obsolete…….😊
Thanks for very informative video! What other boat options would you consider that has similar qualities? I'm looking for something similar - safe, simple to sail alone, comfortable and strong.
Love it
thanks bro. Sooo good. Exactly what I needed
how tall are you? i want to understand the spaces of the boat.
I have a 1971 HR Mistral. I never back it out of the slip and I don't have bow thrusters. I just tie a 30m line on a one of the stern cleats and to the last one on the dock, push the boat out of the slip and than when it's clear of all obstacles, I bring it back with the line. Ready to motor or sail forward out of the slip. In my opinion, that one is not a real con, just pushes us to be a bit more creative with some limitations.
l totally agree. It's just more convenient to have bow thruster.
Great stuff!
Great milestone, so to speak!
What is that electric saw with the flat edge you use to cut the hole in your water tank, and to cut the oak facing for your walls? I've seen you use it a lot, and I've never seen it before. It looks very useful. Is that a reciprocating saw with a special blade?
Hi. The name is oscillating multi tool it is very convenient.
Hi. The 2021 playlist is upside down. I only realised after watching for a few episodes, and noticing that your work was going backwards each episode! Now I have jumped down to the bottom of the playlist to watch the episodes I missed. Maybe you can invert the episode order at your end, so people don't get the same problem I'm having?
Thanks for info ! But seems like RUclips does the job for me, and l can't do anything there. l have numbers on each video like Ep 20, Ep 21 and so on, fallow that.
I love this series.
Wow, what a wild adventure you had in this episode, Snowbird! Despite not browning your pants or broke your leg, you showed incredible resilience and kept the positivity flowing. It's inspiring to see how you tackle boat work with so much enthusiasm. And kudos for finding that pesky leak! Your determination is truly admirable. Keep up the great work, and I'm glad you didn't break anything else or have any bathroom emergencies this time. 😄
Haha Glad you enjoyed it!
Naiad 34 mall 40h are comparable
l know
All of the power boats- how do they afford fuel in Sweden?
They play innocent, but steal a lot.😄
Your Hallberg Rassy history is not really right. Harry Hallberg and C Rassy were competitors and Rassy finally bought Hallberg and kept name as part of company. But they were never working together in the same company😊
Thanks for info.
Hi just found your video. Do you know the depth of the water tank?
About 30 cm
Yanmar...Great Choice.
Thanks
15:00 Don't Use a Clear Lid for Fresh Water. Light Will Increase Algae Growth. Black Lid is Optimal
That's what I also realized after that.
Maybe Should have Rinsed out the Water System With Scope Mouthwash, it Kills So Many Germs it Includes 99.99 Covid Germs as Well. 10 bottles of Scope Mouthwash Vs Mold, I think the Mold Loses !!!
Glad you found the leak, didn’t break anything or crap in your pants. 😂
No l did not, l will make sure, it will stay that way 😂
Welcome back
Hey thanks
Welcome back. Amazing how many things break as soon as you take something out and put it back together again 🙂
Tnx it's good to be back. Just wait what else break 😄
Welcome back 👍
l really miss the boat and you guys 😊
Great to see you back on the boat Janis. I hope to see more of you in the future.
Great to be back with the new boat episodes l miss you guys and sailing.
Yo! I'm here watching! Also... you were part of the reason I fell in love with the Rasmus. Thank you! Proud owner of a 1972 HR Rasmus!
I appreciate that! It feels good that I inspire you. Hope you have a good time with your boat, it's a very solid boat, good choice.
What is the brand name and part number on the LED lights?
l really don't remeber anymore.
nice explanation, one question, what do you mean by the average speed of this boat? to 2000 revs of motor that speed?5.5 kts ? 6 kts ?
Yes exactly
@@coldnorthadventures5905 thanks
Thanks John . I cut a big hole in my aluminum water tank to repair all the leaks. . I think I will fiberglass it up and make the hole smaller . Then add a nice square access panel . Thanks for the idea
Sounds great!
Hi John, so happy to see what you’re up to and it looks like a lot! Very nice, I hope those inspection hatches work, I can’t see why they wouldn’t, your work is always perfect! Thanks so much for checking in!!!
Thank you a lot, will see, fingers crossed!😁
Good to see your recent progress.
Me too!
Hey good to see you long time smile more my man.
Hey, thanks
Well done, braliukas!
I know it's a bit of a pain, but I believe you could have saved time and money by just filtering the water before you drink it. If you spent 40 hours doing it and your time is worth $30 an hour, after 30% taxes that's $840 minus materials. For $60 I can get a gravity filter that will filter 3700 liters. 🤷
Thanks for great videos :) what is the name/model of your stereo?
I have forgotten the names, but the speakers were from ''Alpine''
you skipped the welcome to the sailing world
Haha Yes😄
Hi there, do you have a video mountaing your anchor windlass....or any information about best location? Thank you.
Not yet!
Wow John, you’ve accomplished a lot, looks so good!
Thanks so much!
Great episode!
Thanks you 😊
Nice review good luck with the boat, I have same values when it comes to boats great choice 👌
Thanks! 👍
Wow! Making progress… Some walk through the boat commenting on the progress will be nice to see! Keep up the good work 🍀
Thanks, will do!
I had a 1975 hallberg Rassy rassmus 35. Thick hull, great layout, powerful Volvo penta Md. 21a, 75 hp. Sailed it in heavy wind, it was good. The bathroom was too small for me, and I had no septic tank, only a pump out. Comfortable in zero degrees too….and the deck drains were nice to have. Great boat! Feels light and was safe in 4 meter seas!
Nice work!
Thanks!
What a cool adventure, happy that you’ve made it back to Stockholm!
Thanks! 😃
Thanks for documenting this and I was looking forward to the journey down south. Being part of several sailing platforms finding a competent crew for different legs should not be a big problem - regardless how old someone is. People really are into these kind of experiences. I do understand you want someone competent enough to do watches, navigate, steer, cook, fix things up but still these people are around. Looking forward to the HR adventures - keep up the good work
I’m so sorry to hear that the journey ended! I liked it indeed and would have enjoyed to see more to come… So I’m looking forward for more videos of your boat projects and finally seeing you on the water again 🍀🍀🍀!
Thank you, Well yes! Me and Silvija, we already talked before we were heading out, that it could happen, but we thought let's give a try, and then, we'll see. The thing is, that l have to go back working in September, which means she would stay alone. We found out, the older you are, the harder to get someone to sail with you.
Thanks for sharing. Considering buying this boat, good intel.
Glad I could help
