Sailing with a self-made sailboat. Silvija had enough of sailing, realizing that she was too old for all this, and the fact that there was no independent person who can be with her constantly, plays a significant role, also considering that it is 43 degrees in Spain, the decision was made to return. However, I'm back on my sailboat and do what l always do. See you soon...

They didn't build boats together. Rassy bought Hallberg's boatbuilding business and kept the name as the Name Hallberg was well known. To keep his name and put it in front of his own was just good selling strategy.

A Brit here who has owned a Rasmus for almost 20 years and sailed her over 20,000nm around Britain, the Bay of Biscay and the Mediterranean……once you know how she’s very manoeuvrable and I can get her into the tightest of berths with confidence………..bow thrusters IMHO are the equivalent of stabilisers on a child’s bicycle, when you now how to handle the boat they become obsolete…….😊

I have a 1971 HR Mistral. I never back it out of the slip and I don't have bow thrusters. I just tie a 30m line on a one of the stern cleats and to the last one on the dock, push the boat out of the slip and than when it's clear of all obstacles, I bring it back with the line. Ready to motor or sail forward out of the slip. In my opinion, that one is not a real con, just pushes us to be a bit more creative with some limitations.

What is that electric saw with the flat edge you use to cut the hole in your water tank, and to cut the oak facing for your walls? I've seen you use it a lot, and I've never seen it before. It looks very useful. Is that a reciprocating saw with a special blade?

Hi. The 2021 playlist is upside down. I only realised after watching for a few episodes, and noticing that your work was going backwards each episode! Now I have jumped down to the bottom of the playlist to watch the episodes I missed. Maybe you can invert the episode order at your end, so people don't get the same problem I'm having?

Wow, what a wild adventure you had in this episode, Snowbird! Despite not browning your pants or broke your leg, you showed incredible resilience and kept the positivity flowing. It's inspiring to see how you tackle boat work with so much enthusiasm. And kudos for finding that pesky leak! Your determination is truly admirable. Keep up the great work, and I'm glad you didn't break anything else or have any bathroom emergencies this time. 😄

Your Hallberg Rassy history is not really right. Harry Hallberg and C Rassy were competitors and Rassy finally bought Hallberg and kept name as part of company. But they were never working together in the same company😊

I know it's a bit of a pain, but I believe you could have saved time and money by just filtering the water before you drink it. If you spent 40 hours doing it and your time is worth $30 an hour, after 30% taxes that's $840 minus materials. For $60 I can get a gravity filter that will filter 3700 liters. 🤷

I had a 1975 hallberg Rassy rassmus 35. Thick hull, great layout, powerful Volvo penta Md. 21a, 75 hp. Sailed it in heavy wind, it was good. The bathroom was too small for me, and I had no septic tank, only a pump out. Comfortable in zero degrees too….and the deck drains were nice to have. Great boat! Feels light and was safe in 4 meter seas!

Thanks for documenting this and I was looking forward to the journey down south. Being part of several sailing platforms finding a competent crew for different legs should not be a big problem - regardless how old someone is. People really are into these kind of experiences. I do understand you want someone competent enough to do watches, navigate, steer, cook, fix things up but still these people are around. Looking forward to the HR adventures - keep up the good work

The thing is, that l have to go back working in September, which means she would stay alone. We found out, the older you are, the harder to get someone to sail with you.
