The race is superbly organised, always well attended (Over a 1000 participants!) and the atmosphere on that home stretch..... simply amazing. Come have a look at the stunning sites you can en...

Walt Disney World Half Marathon 2024 Race day

Its race day..... but not quite as we expected. Late the previous evening Disney had made the difficult decision to shorten the HM course due to an incoming storm. the 13.1 was now to become 7 and a tiny bit. But we dont do half of a half and call it a day here..... so, a whole new race (And purely voluntary!) was created and tiltled "The hour glass lake challenge". A HUGE thank you to Riley an...

Abbey Park Parkrun 5k. "Its Now or Never"
I wouldn’t fret too much over your grammar. Americans suck at it 😂 Seems like it was a good training run. Thanks for taking us along 😊
Welcome back my friend!
Thank you so much ☺️ 🙏
Nice to see you out there again. 7 miles is a good distance. And you sure have some pretty places nearby to keep things interesting. (Although, I don't understand how the government can just decide to build a new town in the middle of one of those pretty English countrysides...)🙂
There is a long list of reasoning I’m sure someone could give but let me some it up in 2 words…. Corrupt government! It really will be a shame when we lose those fields 😞
An adverb at the front of a sentence, the clue is in the name 😝 Of course, you have to know this, you use it all the time! 😂😂
Somehow I just knew you would be the first person to comment on this 😂
@joggervlogger4675 you can take the man out of teaching but not the teacher out of the man 🤣
Great training run video! Your pace is still looking really good! Stay warm🥶
9:30 - A true gentleman and such a wonderful human, Ian!
At least you didn’t wear two left shoes 😂 Oh, and we won’t push you to run Dopey! We’ll just demand you shut the parks down with us! 🎉
I’m definitely up for that challenge friends!! Hope you’re feeling well and ready for next weekend! Can’t wait for our next catch up
Oh, don't worry, I'll be back! I'm up 6k at the moment, going for 7k at the weekend, aiming for Drayton Manor 10k! Nowhere near as fast as I was but just getting out there and trying to shed a Christmas bulge 😂
Yes mate!!!! Looking forward to that! Let’s do a parkrun before that!
Interesting idea for a race course. There's a half marathon over here in the States (in Alabama I think) that includes a big chunk of running through some caverns. The pics and video look like the caverns are well lit. Looks like it could be a lot of fun and very unique. Narrow pathway, but it's one way running I think. Not out and back. Could be damp. A little far from where I live... but, maybe one day...🤔
What an interesting race concept. That would probably be a one and done for us too! Appreciate you putting out the footage for us to see. Be safe and hopefully you’re staying warm as much as possible.
@@RECB it truly sucked! But 2 bits of bling for the wall and now never again 😂. Thanks for watching guys. Keep up your good running!!
So glad to see you back again! I was worried about you. Remember, life is like a marathon... some years are easier than others (some miles are easier than others). What's important is that you keep trying. So, well done at getting back out there again, esp on that VERY muddy course. I'm headed to Disney this week... I'm doing the marathon for the 2nd time (not the Dopey). But, I am really excited about the chance to be there again. And maybe I'll ride Everest this time around, if I can convince my husband to do it with me. Looking forward to your 2025 content. Merry Christmas!🙂
Thank you so much Karen. Lovely hearing from you again as well! Huge good luck to you at the marathon next week… Im very jealous and wish I could be there with you and everyone else doing it! Here’s hoping I join you all in 2026 😊
Welcome back and happy new year!
Thanks Steph. You back doing Goofy this year?? I’m planning on Dopey 2026
@ That’s the goal for 2025! Depending on how that goes will determine what I attempt in 2026 haha
Well I hope to see you again next year with whatever race you take on 😊👍🏻. If you send me you bib number I’ll follow you on the tracker for the HM & M 😄
@@joggervlogger4675 will do! I’m hoping we get them soon!
Great to see you back out there! Over 700 runners? What a queue that was! Looking forward to seeing you at a RunDisney event. Happy 2025🎉
Sooooooo looking forward to seeing you both again! Thank you guys 🙏😊 Just got to get these feet moving again I guess 😂
@ 💪🏽🙌🏽💪🏽
Welcome back mate 👍🏻
Thanks mate 👍 hope you and the lad had a wonderful Christmas pal. Hopefully see you on the football or park run circuit somewhere this year
2024 can KICK ROCKS 😤 Love that the Park Run community is so strong by you! And hell yes to Dopey 2026!!! We have a ride record to set! Happy new year my friend, I hope this year is kinder to you!
Definitely!! Everytime I start to struggle with my pace and wonder why I’m doing it all to myself again I’ll just remember…. That race and that record we need to do…. Not long now (although you have one MUCH sooner 😂…. Good luck that with that one Riley 👍🏻)
Good to see you back.
Cheer bud. We need to get you back out there as well matey 👍🏻
@joggervlogger4675 I'm planning on it! I'm away for a few days but I've got my first run of 2025 planned for Sunday. Hoping to build up some strength and tolerance before work really kicks off again.
Thankyou for a great video, I'm running next week for the first time so great insight
Thanks for the comment. I hope you had a great time running it!
Hope everything’s good! Missing the videos
how do we sign up for bark runs? :)
(based in leicester) Also, when you say theyve benned waist harnesses, does this include waist leads? i.e. not canicross just a running belt with a lead attached?
Sorry for not replying sooner but took a bit of time out. Have you discovered Bark run yet or would you still like some info on it?
Great stuff and an impressive run! Thanks for all the great info! I have never watched Black Adder, but I have quite a few friends who think it's fantastic.
Good to see you back in action!
If someone would pay my way to a race... Well, I have heard that Leicester is the best town ever😆! So, I should probably go there. Which Leicester race is the best one? Oh, and one more question for you guys... how often do you do ParkRuns? It seems like most Saturdays will find you out there😉
Actually, we don't get out to parkrun that often! I'm fact, I don't think I'm even at double digits yet 😝 Most, if not all of the parkruns I've done are on this channel! I'm not a morning runner. I really struggle to run as I need food first then need to leave it for a couple of hours to let it go down before I run. I also wake up stiff as a board and it takes me all day to be able to move 🤣 I do occasionally get it early to do a Barkrun with my dog though without the camera (check out the video of that if you haven't already).
You heard right Karen. Leicester is most definitely the greatest city there is, was and will be 😉. For me, I like the 10k towards the end of the year. Right through the city centre itself and on the way back in you even get to take in the space station and the clock tower. So I love that one As for parkruns. We are trying to get to more, but with family life and work life beating us most weeks we do struggle to get to too many. They are however held every Saturday across hundreds of different venues around Britain (and abroad but not in quite so much high demand). There’s just so much fun and always great just to get out and run with a mate 👍🏻 But yes…… you must enter a Leicester race one day
Running and answering questions. Impressive 👊 Sounds like a windy one 🙈
Thanks. We made sure we took long sections to run a little slower to recover in between questions 😂
Well, it may have been a swampy course (glad you didn't slip in the road shoes), but such a beautiful day! 🙂
What is "Bappington" (sp?) and what were you actually doing when you hurt the calf? Hope you're feeling better now. I liked the bagpipes! 🙂
I’m sorry Karen, that’ll be my lazy accent 😂 “bappington” is Badminton. I’m on recovery road now thank you. Took 7 weeks off, all healed but now to rebuild the fitness 👍🏻
@@joggervlogger4675 2 hours of Badminton every Monday evening? That's a lot of Badminton😄
It sounds a lot but it’s very social and not too taxing
Great video thank you, this certainly captures the community spirit of Hastings High School parkrun plus many more like it, up and down the Country...thanks for taking the time to produce these videos...👍👍
Thank you for your kind comment 👍🏻
Great video from a wonderful event! Well done to all the students, incredible effort. 💯 🎉 💪
Thank you. It truly was an incredible effort from all the students 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Great video . Good to see you both at abby park today
Thanks. It was great to see you too!
Thanks Steve. Good to see you too. Best of luck next Sunday 👍🏻
Great video. Thanks for interviewing me. My wife ‘Shiela’ appreciated the shout out too 😊
Thanks for chatting with me around the course, was great to meet you! All the best in future runs 👍🏻
Well done editing all that together! Great job
Great running fella. Never heard of Pocklington until we stayed there when we visited york at xmas and now ive seen a race there. Have to check this out next year 👌
Thank you 🙏🏻 I can thoroughly recommend this course, it’s certainly one I’ll be back for next year 👍🏻
Such a chilly, grey day. I'm glad it is an event that is a lot of fun and well-attended. But, I didn't realize you have races in England using "miles". I thought you only use "kilometers" over there😉
We have both. Obviously the HM and full are miles (13.1 & 26.2) but we also have 5 miler and 10 miler races (I’m sure they’ll be others as well which I don’t particularly know about I’m afraid) but then we also switch to Km Races for things like Parkrun (5km) and my favourite race distance 10km. It was a chilly day but was just so amazing! Will definitely be doing that again next year. Thanks for watching Karen 😊👍🏻
What a great video mate! Great interviews, great atmosphere, just brilliant! Well done, despite your heavy legs.
Cheers mate. Next year you’ve gotta have a go at this one with me mate. Its brilliant 👍🏻
@@joggervlogger4675 I've had a look but they've not opened up the entries for 2025 yet 🤣 I've got no excuse, I used to run to my parents so the time, that's a hilly 10 miles.
Nice seeing Tom out there on the course with you. And so great seeing the amazing turn-out.🙂
Great video as always Ally. Well done for Dopey! See you soon.
Cheers Alex. Hope you’re keeping well mate 👍🏻. Hopefully see you around the courses sometime soon 😁
Thats not the reason.
Wow, I can't believe you went for another run after doing Dopey and WDW! My legs would've been toast! Well done... looks like you had a really good time😊
To be fair Karen I would have usually left it but this was my final day in America and I really wanted that international badge for USA. There was a lot of aching body parts but it was great to be able to participate in a parkrun over there and would totally do it again
Thanks for bringing us along on your International park run. 😊
What an amazing journey! I really appreciated how you included the joys and the difficulties that you experienced. You didn't "white-wash" it. Batteries dying, losing fuel packets, raining, pulling muscles when trying to jump, etc... and yet, so amazing and so worth it. What a memory! You make me want to do a Dopey, even though I really don't want to do a Dopey😆
Thank you Karen. It’s such an amazing experience but their are things that go wrong and I think it’s only fair to show the complete experience and maybe it help people prepare better than I do. I would still say this is an experience that everyone must try at some point in their lives.
@@joggervlogger4675 I think another question I have is... I'm curious how you spent your time OUTSIDE of the races during the race weekend. I mean, were you on your feet a lot at the parks? Or were you trying to rest in between the events? Again, many people focus on the events themselves. But, since there is so much mileage to consider, I just wonder how people handle their time/activity level in between the events.
I stopped watching when he said he was in corral A. I find it disingenuous to worry about being swept if you are fast enough to be in corral A.
Perfectly understood. Just to average that for you though. My POT I provided was from around 2 years ago. I had since had multiple operations and adding to the fact of fatigue and I knew I wanted to ride Everest, I was genuinely concerned about the sweep. To give you an idea, it actually took my 6:35 to complete the marathon. Will I be coral A ever again….. nope! Just lucky to have one last historic POT.
Had such a blast during our Hourglass Lake Distance Classic!!
It was brilliant and I would have never of done that if it weren’t for you and Sarah. So thanks again Riley 🙏🏻👍🏻
“2 and out” - meanwhile we’re planning our character and ride record for 2026 🤪 I had so much fun running those last 10 miles with you pal!! Congratulations on Dopey #2!!!
Sssshhhhhhh…. Don’t tell my legs about that plan 😂😂. In the heat of the moment I never wanted to do it again. Everything hurt and I had accomplished everything I had wanted to do…. Until you presented the idea of setting a new character stop record!!…. So sign me up 👍🏻
Well done on your achievement there. Really gives a great insight into the Disney event(s)
Thank you 🙏🏻. It is an experience (not all of it positive!) but I would thoroughly recommend to anyone who loves Disney and running to try this at least once in their lives!
Well done making lemonade out of lemons! Looks like you PR'd in fun, as the Slackers would say.😊 First time I ran RunDisney was a half marathon during 2017 Marathon weekend. Due to expected lightning, they simply cancelled the whole thing. Super disappointing! So, my daughter and I went back to our hotel (Caribbean Beach) which also has a nice trail. We did our entire half there, along with a bunch of other runners. There were even people out cheering and giving out drinks and food. Later we went over to ESPN to get our medals. Not sure we ever really saw the lightning. Definitely memorable. Question for you... how did you get the list of character stops on the course? I don't recall ever getting that info in the past.🤔
Hi Karen. Thanks for following along again. The list of characters had been shown to me on an instagram post. I have no idea how the guy found out himself but he happily shared the info…. So it is out there!!… I’ll be a little quicker to search for it in future events!!!
Woooo! This was so much fun in the rain!
It really was brilliant and you guys awesome letting me join you. Thank you
Way to get character photos and push on to complete a total half 🎉💪🏽
Got Riley and Sarah to thank for that. They were awesome 🙌. Would never have braved it otherwise 😂
I appreciate your giving info about how much time it takes for those character stops. For those of us who aren't quite as speedy as you seem to be, it's definitely more problematic when trying to make sure we have enough time. Thumper was a really cute pic to get🙂
The one thing I always wondered when watching other videos was how long do those lines actually take, no one ever seemed to mention. So I thought I’d give an idea. Lot all depends really though on the day but hopefully it just gives people who are working on tight times schedule just what they need to budget.
Another good recap! Nice that you were able to get a good amount of characters 😃
Thanks mate. its great to see your road to berlin videos! looking strong for that!!!
Great video keep them coming! Thanks for keeping me motivated to run doing my first 10k run in April
Thank you so much! Your first 10k in April, that’s brilliant!! Where is that at? Please do let me know how you get on 👍🏻

I enjoyed this video SO much. Thank you for sharing! It reminds me of how much joy Disney races are. I eat up every moment just like you do, so thank you for the great memory! Also, "This is why I still run. ...well ...this and so I can still eat rubbish food" may be my new favorite runDisney quote! :-D
Thank you for such kind words. There’s no better race than a Disney race! It was great to see you over there too 👍🏻👍🏻…… oh btw….. it’s all about the rubbish food for me 😂😋😋😋
