Fast apple peel, core and slice in bulk
Hi All,
This is how I quickly peel,core and slice bulk apples I grow at home for freezing for apple pies and crumbles etc
I use a product from Avanti called Apple peeler, corer and slicer.
Makes light work of an otherwise tedious job doing this manually and I highly recommend if you have bulk apples from your own tree or buy in bulk and preserve your own food…
Best wishes for healthy eating…

    Surprised you didn't use the sieve straight from the press into the larger bucket. I understand the sieve can fill up and needs monitoring but surely it was flowing slower from the press requiring less monitoring or you could screw the press in intervals.

    • @HomeGrowninAustralia
      @HomeGrowninAustralia Год назад

      Thanks for your comment. I’m usually rushing around, not watching the press. I’ve cleaned up my share of split honey, so this way plays it safe for me and limits the wax in the strainer which will block up…. By letting the pressed or even the honey from a spinner, which I now use, rest in the bucket before straining, the wax floats to the top and therefore not clogging the strainers

    • @HomeGrowninAustralia
      @HomeGrowninAustralia Год назад

      Hi Vmeza, if you live anywhere near me it was not the best season for cherries. I have three beehives directly under and around my trees, so I don’t typically hand pollinate my fruit trees, but absolutely you can… use a cotton bud or small artist paint brush on the flowers pollen and then on the stigma in the flower centre… do this daily for best results whilst flowering… The Stella is self fertile so this should work. Other cherry varieties may need a second tree of a different variety… A good feed of fertilisers is always helpful too… if I don’t net the trees I loose my crop to birds. I have to maintain tree height to net with annual pruning…

      Hi Barry, I’d take it down to your local nursery who would know the best treatment in your local area. Leaf curl for example that we often see on peach and nectarine trees can be prevented with an application of an appropriate fungicide, eg. lime sulfur or a copper fungicide. infection occurs when the buds begin to swell, the fungicide must be applied during the dormant season before spring growth. Good luck…
