I line up with my RS3 against a very fast turbo Honda CRX on race gas. RS3 on E85 Custom Code software with supporting mods, CRX I believe is on C16. Ran 10.57 @ 131mph.

Took the wife's daily driver down to the drag strip to try out my Mickey Thompson's and came within a fraction of a second from the 12-second club. Not bad for a 22-year old family car.

I took my wife's daily driver down to the local drag strip to see what it would do. She moves pretty decent for a 20-year old, automatic, front wheel drive car fastest was 13.28 @ 108.89mph. the stock auto trans can handle around 300-400 reliably without mods, his is definitely custom

I Love Volvos and I Own a Volvo XC90 Turbo AWD which is a Tank. My Friend owns a 2jz Supra that I Have Driven to Race on the 1/4 Mile Strip many times. The only Reason the Volvo won is bcuz the Supra Can't Launch in the Start Like the Volvo. The Supra Burns Rubber from the start and you Seconds and Ft Distance while the Volvo catches you from the Dig. Now the Supra has to Play Catch up. With a High Power Supra you need a Good Tune,Computer Management and Great Slicks to come out of the Dig on top.

Yeah and no. It's not the horsepower that kills it. It's the torque, but with a transmission cooler and a alu radiator it can atleast do 320hp and 480nm safely atleast. Nothings happened to mine yet atleast (knock on wood) xD but seeing this video I wanna know the true power figures of the 850. Cus I want more power, and I want to know what I can safely put down beyond my figures

It's based on looking from the start to the finish. You can also see the lights flashing on first to the right side, indicating the Supra running over the line first. It's funny to me how this video and comment section is raving about the Volvo's performance. It's alright, but Supra clearly had some issues with the launch. PS. I'm a happy Volvo owner.

I wouldn't be surprised if the transmission in that Volvo is $25k alone.
@@Fisher1903 Are you kidding me? I own 3 850s right now. I bought a 300hp 850R for 1k. My friends built a 425 whp 98 s70 (same shit) manual for under 5k. Yes the price goes up as you make more power but you could get an s60r block stroked and bored out, built internals, big injectors, big turbo build and get it tuned for less than 6k and make 600hp with ease. Fwd so tranny and axles are easy and cheap. For 12k I could make 700hp out of my 1k R.
@@ZacharyTelesca sure, you could run big power through a relatively stockish 5speed. But that's not what's happening here in this video. He's running an automatic. The aw50-42 can barely handle a mild tune. He's either running a sequential or some form of built transmission. I don't know, but it's no $1000 job.

Agree, look at the r/t time and 60 foot. Bad driver or stock motor.
That can't be 700HP. Look at the speed of the cars, and furthermore, the Auto Box on the 850 can't handle that power figure. Little wheelspin as well, perhaps around 400 to 500HP max
700bhp = 530whp. 127mph trap speed would be right on par for that kind of power, but he's on street tires so he can't put it down.

@@gockartzz8272 Generally you would want to upgrade internals in the N 5 cylinder around the 300 mark. The RN 5 cylinder from the R models could probably withstand 500 easy if you can get passed the cylinder walls cracking. Either way, the Volvo 5 cylinder is a well built engine.

I just got a 98 s70 t5 and 99 v70t5 and im on a volvo kick atm...but honestly...12s for a 700hp supra?? that dont seem right
You have to look at the time slip. A 700hp Supra with the right tires should be able to cut a 1.7 60', here he could only muster a 2.5 with his street tires. Second, he is doing 96mph by the 1/8 mile, and gains 31mph to cross the finish in the 1/4 at 127mph, which makes the Supra a back half monster. Trap speed is also a dead giveaway.
