Hello it’s Leon Day July 25th, 2024 ! My son and his girlfriend have a cold so I found your recipe to make ! Guys! I made it , sent the video to my son’s girlfriend , she says…I know him ! I know her ! Small world right . I asked her why do they say 801 and 808 ? She says because their son went to Utah and that’s 801, I had no idea … anyway … thank you so much ! It’s really hard to find taro leaves here in Florida, wish I could make it, my favorite food growing up on the of Kauai.

E guys Uka is in land or up land in Hawai'iana. Example: Westside band from Wa'ianae... Ko A Uka. When we transletterize Uka is Uta or Utah like Mah Alo. The H is connector or silent sound.🫵😊

Haha! It sure did. We got the leaves here in Utah. Some stores carry them - ordered from Hawaiʻi.

Where are you getting your leaves from? I live in Georgia.
There’s a couple of stores here in Utah that ship the leaf from Hawaiʻi. Sometimes you can find them at Asian Markets if you have any near you in Georgia. 🤙🏽

Depending how I feel I use a steamer, oven, crock pot, instant pot or smoker. Sometime I use t-leaf, banana leaf or none at all. No mater which method all taste ono. Mahalo for your video.

I'll never forget when I was a kid and went to Hawaii with my family in 2000 this was my favorite food! It came with most of my dishes. Never knew the name I always just called it Hawaiian pico de gallo 😂😂 I love that stuff!!!!

Is that the Chinese kine taro? I found one big root in Louisiana. I spent hours pounding taro with one sprite bottle for make poi.
The lūʻau leaf we bought is from Oʻahu. The only taro we’ve seen here is Chinese kine. Were you able to make poi with the Chinese taro?
