You are Trapped in the Endless Maze of Corridors of an abandoned soviet nuclear bunker. That is the concept for this game at the moment. I am making a horror game in OpenGL without any Game engine (like unity) This is literally the backrooms ig: threeninezerozero threeninezerozero

I decided to learn OpenGL because I am tired with Vulkan. So I made this weirdcore cemetery scene from scratch with out game engine or anything like that. Here my gamedev series: ruclips.net/p/PLEk-kBAE-uNSuoR3X1VH12t8vqHyelhd6&si=C_LhYPfBkXbHrVqO ig: threeninezerozero threeninezerozero

Crazy? I was crazy once. I tried adding shadows to my horror game and it didn't go well. I am making horror game on my game engine. I'm using Vulkan API. Game is about being lost in abandoned soviet bunker or something like that. If you want to know more about what I was talking about, here are resources I've used: Shadow mapping in OpenGL: learnopengl.com/Advanced-Lighting/Shadows/Shadow-Mappi...

I started making a new horror game and it did not went so good. I am making it on my own graphics engine instead of Unity or Unreal Engine. It is about escaping an old bunker and hiding from the monsters or something like that. Sorry for my English btw, i can not spewak. Also I've been Urban Exploring lately, so if You want Me to make video about it you can tell me in the comments.

I made machine that help me keep my plants alive. It is made using AVR microcontroller (like in Arduino). It helps my grow my plants effortlessly. Used clip from ElectroBOOM - Electrocution in Water: ruclips.net/video/dcrY59nGxBg/видео.html
1080 not 180 pixels
The graphics reminds me of source engine, loved it!
Thank you!
love the dedication on wanting to learn computer graphics without the use of game engines
Thank you!

Very interesting project ! Out of curiosity, why did you chose to make your own engine? It seems like so much extra work for a small gain :(
Thank You! I decided to make my own engine mostly to learn computer graphics
@@cn3900_2 that's as good a reason as any tbh I look forward to see how you develop this going forward keep us posted man, good work!
the trash look bad ngl
How do I make it better?
@@cn3900_2 make it Look Like trash
@@cn3900_2 If you stretch the noise texture so that each piece of trash will get an individual color from different pixels of the noise texture it might give the appearance of different types of trash each with a distinct color. of course it will just be one clean color which can be good or bad depending on the art style you want. For the peeling paint I suggest you make a mask clouds noise texture that is scaled in world space, which will increase and decrease the appearance of the peeling paint randomly around the walls, so it is more peeled in some places and less peeled in other places
I'll try, I'll scale down UVs and it should be the same as stretching the texture. As for the peeling paint, I definitely have to do it like you said. Thanks for the suggestions, it's really helpful!
very great vid 👍
Thank you 👍
I love how primitive this all looks, and the end result has a nice style, also interesting tree generation, I never enjoy modelling trees manually also how come this loops perfectly lol
Looking forward to the opengl video, keep up the great work :D
Thank You!
That's very skibidi my dude
Is that good or bad???
@@cn3900_2 very good. I think. I've only heard it used in a way to compliment people so I'm guessing it's good :D
Thank You!
yo, nice work man. With some more work and effects the game will have great horror vibe to it. Good luck with it!
Thank You!
Honestly I just stumbled upon this channel and suddenly mf goes like "Yeah a guy sent me classified layouts of soviet bunkers, so I can base my procedural generation off of it." Anyways, keep up the great work !!
Thank you!

Impressive, just don't fall into the cliche of a key collection escape the base game, so overdone. I'd like to see if you could come up with an original mechanic or way for the user to progress that differs from what is already out there.
Polish?
Yes! 🇵🇱
Really neat! I'd be interested in watching more in development videos of this. I haven't seen many videos of people making 3d games in their own engine and I've always wanted to see the benefits and shortcomings of doing it this way.
Thank you! I am making my own engine mostly to learn how it works. Other than that, the only benefit is that I have control over everything, and I can optimize it specifically for the game I am making. Unfortunately, it will probably never be as good as a game made on, for example, Unreal Engine, and it is much more work (mostly because I am using Vulkan)
What kind of monsters are they going to be? Will they be more classic monsters like vampires and aliens or more abstract stuff? I feel like the fact that its set in a soviet bunker thing would make mutated kind of monsters very fitting!! It would almost be like a reference to Chernobyl's radiation. + Urbex video sounds great!!! (Yay death grips)
I was thinking of demons like the one I have already made, but mutated/radioactive monsters are also a good idea. Thank you!
The bunker exploration caught me off guard, W determination
Thank you!
I would love to see a video of the bunker exploration! Its really cool that you actually used reference images :)
I am going to record some bunker exploration soon. Thank you!
hey thats wayne
Seems like a cool concept. excited for the results <3
Thank you! I will try to make it work

you do know about RenderDoc, yes?
I was unaware of this tool. Thank You for letting me know. It will be very helpful.
jajajja amigo que copado, me sacaste algunas carcajadas, buena experimentción!
Gracias por tu comentario. Me alegro de haberte hecho reír.
Hey man I'm an environment artist (specialising in vegetation), first of all great work!! If i can give you some tips: - Optimization!!!!!! It's the most important part of vegetation. As a rule of thumb, as you go up the tree, detail should go down (less vertices) - Leaf cards are the soul of the tree so take time to make high quality cards. I would use a larger branch for your texture, meaning a branch with smaller branches and leaves. That will give volume to the tree. - Finally, as much as it pains me to say this, dont worry if the trees dont look amazing, most of the time players don't pay attention to them so as long as they look alright without drawing attention to themselves they'll be ok Keep up the good work!!
Thank you for great advice! First point will be easy to implement, but making better leaf cards might be difficult because switching textures while rendering in my engine is costly (I've tried to keep leafs and branch textures on one image to avoid that), but I will try to find the way.
@@cn3900_2 that's great! A trick we usually use it to make an atlas sheet, a texture with different variations of different branches which I think is similar to what you're doing, there's a lot of info about this in the internet to help you out. Keep it up!!
Hey nice video man, keep the work up
Thank you!
Glitches in recording on the top part of your screen can be avoided by disabling "Allow Flipping" in Nvidia settings -> OpenGL Settings
Thank you! It fixed it
I got really confused in the middle of your video. Outside? What is that? Great video and funny humor
Also the vine booms were funny good they were kept in
Thank You!
dang you are so underrated. this is crazy cool
Thank You!
I forgot to remove Vine Booms before uploading, sorry.
awesome video! looking forward to your future updates. where are you from? :)
Thank you! I am from Poland
Looks spooky! Just make sure you don't go so dark that players can't see anything. Liked!
i was looking forward to the next part. Nice video man
Thank you
I look forward to seeing and hopefully playing this game
Awesome start! Very cool you’re diving in. You can learn a ton trying to make your own engine but unless you’re very experienced that’s not the place to start. It’ll be significantly easier to learn Unity than to learn to make your own engine. Also, the more time you spend making an engine, the less time you’re actually making your GAME. Best of luck! Welcome to the awesome world of game dev!
Thank you! I like low level programming so I decided to try making my own engine so I can learn how it works at a lower level and have more control over the hardware.
@@cn3900_2 Fair enough but there’s a difference between making an engine, graphics, etc and actually making a game.
Pretty good at the start. Good luck in the future making.
Thank you!
Thats so cool and impressive! Good Job!
Thank you!
Nice try! Gave me an Idea for the case of the mouse.
Thank you! and good luck with your project
