The Ryobi, which is pretty much the same as the Echo 2300 inverter probably has an 80 cc OHV engine. The Honda's GXR120 is 121cc. There is an advantage of having a larger engine for these units being Project Farm found that when a heavy load is powered on the voltage drop is within the 110VAC range on the Honda while others with a smaller engine like the 80cc are as severe as 90VAC and also the recovery times (where the voltage goes back to 120VAC) is also shorter on the Honda.

I love my Little Red! Thanks for the review. I guess this video is a bit dated...the "bundles of wood" are between $20-$25 (in PA at least) these days... so the propane option with the 1 lb canister is definitely cost effective as described! I am using a 10 lb propane tank because I don't want to carry a bunch of 1#'s....BUT, if I run out...I do have a couple of 1#'s for back up.Thanks again for a great review and good advice!

Another vote for Ryobi. I have an 8 year old Ryobi 2200. It has run perfectly over that time. Just ran it continually for 2 days during a power outage - it ran flawlessly. No reason to pay $400 more for as your said - nothing.

Extra weight is why there’s more handle on the ryobi, if she grabs it with 2 hands it’s doable. Didn’t even mention anything about the Bluetooth and app features. And power difference. $400 less with more power, give or take 9-10 lbs and db difference, Bluetooth tooth, extended handle with wheels, lcd front screen to show load, runtime, gas and oil levels? U sir probably work for Honda lol

When BB says 5000 cycles, that s 100 amp's worth. So if you drop 50 and chart 50 twice, this is not two cycles.. it is counted as 1. ... I went with two 100 amp BB batteries.. we'll see how well it goes... I hate to say it but I think (can't really tell) you connected the battery wires incorrectly. What do I mean? BB says to put all the wire terminals on the same side of the battery connector terminal on the bolt. When you put wires on both sides of the battery terminal the terminal becomes part of the load circuit. This we do not want with LiFiPO4 ... so they say. I am glad you used something other than picking it us by the battery posts. I was going to ask about controller/chargers.. the PDynamcs in the RV I have with the BB batteries is doing the same thing my 9200 PD is doing at my radio shack ... but the RV I do not think has a means for the Wizzard switch (I have in one in the shack)... the PD board has a button on it and I have been testing cycles and so on.. It does 100 control and daily goes up to 14.x which the batteries don't need but also wont hurt them... it settles down to the single blinking every so often.. then flash and solid when it goes to 14.4-6... I am very happy and glad I got to do this research too... a few years after you did... I wonder how yours is doing since 2018

Just got mine in the mail. Haven't tried it out. Construction looks solid except for the cheap clips that hold the top on. They really blew it there. The one clip is bent and keeps falling out of the holes. I wonder how long it will be before I lose it at a campsite in the dark. Otherwise it looks good. It wasn't cheap though but will save a lot of screwing around with wet firewood, buying little farting bags and wood chips all over your trunk and such. Not the same as a real fire but they make it so inconvenient now with regulations abound, this seems the way to go.

I would want the Honda, but there is a problem I need an inverter battery system as well and a solar panel plug in. The market is quickly trending towards generator/inverter/charge controller/with a built in lithium ion battery. Ultimately this would be the ideal package; a turn key push button manages your power for you system.

BXGNi2200E and GG22i are identical, only the brand logo and the color are different. The 114cc motor has more power and there might be an advantage in terms of durability.

I have both. Real world the noise is about the same. I have had a carburetor issue with the Honda. The Ryobi runs perfect but I do use stabilizer in each tank. Now the price difference at $629 vs 1,100 you decide.

  • @perrygibbons1816

The reason for this test is more people are buying the cheaper ones because Honda is to pricey, and the ryobi does not weigh near that much with fuel, you must be a Honda salesman, drop the price on the Honda you will sell more of them, you can turn the off knob just before the engine stalls it will turn the fuel off so the engine will use all the fuel in the carburetor and you will not have to drain the carburetor for storage this comparison is a pile of 🐂💩💩💩💩

Great way to meet park rangers during fire bans; offer smores after they see it's propane and they calm down. Used for 8 years so far with adapter/large propane tanks. Added lava rocks. It hisses at highest settings but that doesnt bother me. I love it and it's warming me up on my porch while I'm writing this. Oh, also, I've turned the cover upside down to use for carrying water in primitive camping conditions for years.

I never really heard the hiss from the propane flow on the brand new 1 lb tank, which tells me something was obstructing the flow.......... any clues????? thanks!

We don't place the decals onto the camper because we want to keep the decals. Yet I do display them. We have large left over sheets of home shower wall all nice and shiny we cut down smaller and keep under the camper mattresses till we want to display the decals. This way no matter how many times we trade to another camper we always have all those decals. I add my decals for tool brands and such we use camping, camping gear decals and more. And if you want free shiny sheets you can take apart a old LED TV and remove the screen to use for decals. Even thinner and just as good.
