Impossible Project New Style Frog Tongue for Folding SX-70
Просмотров 29 тыс.9 лет назад
A quick video on installing the Impossible Project's frog tongue for the folding style SX-70 cameras.
As others have said, this is the ONLY video I was able to find that does indeed show how the heck to do this. Thanks so much!
So the tongue always just sits there rolled-up? That's not going to last long.
That you very much for this! I didn't realise how hard I needed to push though. Polaroid's own video is shot from across the room so this is a huge upgrade!
thank you
I know this video is old at this point. My recent findings current formulations of Polaroid film is that they don't seem to be as sensitive to light as they used to be once they come out of camera. Whether I have the camera the Frog tongue or not I typically put the photo in a dark place right away for at least the first 15 minutes.
I swear to almighty, this is still one of the only videos on youtube showing how to properly install this lol /salute
Does this prevent it from dropping the photos on the ground? They spit out way too fast for me to catch them
If the camera spit the photo to the ground the metal sheet that support it when takes tbe photo and it goes out, is bended
Great clear instruction and visuals to walk through installation!! Thanks!!
Thanksss, best video for frog tongue
Super helpful! Applicable to the new Polaroid brand frog tongues
Hey i know this question is a bit late, but do you know where you found the film for it?
The official Polaroid video was all style no substance. This video was much more helpful.
Still can’t figure out how to do it. The video is too fast, does not show the orientation of the tongue and the dark slide and the fingers block the view.
Thank you! I’ve had one of these frog tongues sitting in my drawer for years and I’ve finally installed it ☺️
0:47 That timing tho
The notification 😂
wait how are the pictures developed
All I did was reload the cartridge with already exposed film. Good way to test the mechanics of the camera without wasting film.
@@mcg8006 are you going to do a voiceover for this?
I love how it looks like a toy but it is an actual functioning camera, it's so beautiful
They actually called them toy cameras because they were so easy to use. everybody and their mom could use one. although they weren’t actually toys.
Polaroid camera camera made in the USA in 1977 .. And offer for sale and in the condition of the new camera .. For those who want to buy contact with the number by calling or send a message on WhatsApp 00201093994684
Hello, thank you for your video. One question please, when you have done to set up the frog tongue, then everyrhing is ok when you close your camera ? I mean the tongue is visible outside or goes inside the camera. Thank you 😊
THANK YOU! You're the only video so far that actually shows how to do this.
Thank you for this. Impossible's video is useless.
Thank you! Impossible created a video but it did not help one bit.
I have one but the photos always come out so blurry
This video helped me more than Polaroid video on how to do it smh thank you
The handling was so annoyiong god
when was it launched?
Im having the same problem omg My camera just stopped working T.T
Just got my Sx70 today. Do you need to use a film pack first before you can fit the frog tongue as I guess the dark slide comes out when you put the pack in. Or can you fit it after the film is fitted? Did the original Sx70 use a frog tongue as I never recall seeing it when I used to sell the camera way back in the 70's!
Ideally, you'd have a dark slide from a previously exposed pack of film. You'll want to put the frog tongue in BEFORE you insert the film pack. I would think any small piece of cardboard would work. Like a coaster from a bar or similar. Or you can just bypass the frog tongue altogether for this pack of film. Just immediately after the picture is ejected, place it upside down on a table or in a pocket. You don't want any additional light hitting the emulsion during the first few minutes of the development process. And you're right, these cameras in the 70's didn't have this frog tongue. The current film is using a completely new/made from scratch formula using chemicals available today. Polaroid had a lot of pull (money) back in the day to have chemicals specially made for them. Whereas Impossible (now Polaroid Originals) did not have such pull. Oh and once you put the film pack into the camera, you don't want to open up the film door until all of the exposures are gone. You'll risk exposing all of the images at once.
Cheers. I think I might have an old SX70 photo from way back so will see if I can find that and use it. Its great that Impossible are reviving and reinventing this analogue technology
Found an old photo and got it fitted ok. First 7 shots taken well pleased!!
why is it giving u random pics?
I loaded up an empty film cartridge with old pictures beforehand. The battery in the empty cartridge was still good. It's great way to test the mechanics of the camera without wasting a $25 film pack.
Well. Thanks for all the help.
thanks got instaled
I am SOOOOO depressed that a technology could simply disappear in the 21st CENTURY!!! No knock on the Impossible boys who rescued the last vestige of Polaroid film machinery, but how the hell is this possible? For god's sake, that spring-loaded flap that you call the black 'thing' IS the original anti-light-piping device! It is to weep....
Does this have a flash attachment?
Yes, this one can accept a flash attachment. Either the standard flash bar, or the electronic one that was designed for this camera.
okay the sound is getting creepier and creepier...
thE WASTE OF FILM IS GIVING ME SEVERE ANXIETY
Ha! It would me as well. Good thing it was already exposed film that I put back into the cartridge. I don't have that kind of money.
McG800 thinking of buying one. Can you double exposure them? A s t h e t i c (a year late reply)
@@mryork_ I believe you can but you'll have to compensate by setting the exposure dial to under expose and quickly open the film door before the film starts ejecting.
I know it's already been pointed out but seriously, how do you not see that this isn't unused film?
1 pocket=1000 films?
With the Impossible Project film, 1 package = 8 exposures. The original Polaroid had 10 per package.
+McG800 just 10 films?
In this case, just 8. That's the most you can do these days.
Thanks! So much better than the explanation provided on the package :)
Seriously, thanks for posting this!!
I have the same problem here.. new film, the black thing gets out but when i press the red button nothing happens :(
did you ever figure out how to get it working? same problem here
Where can I buy film for cheap?!
You can buy it from polaroid for $18.99
My Username maybe also on geek or wish
what film do you use can you also use a fuji film from the instax series
The only film available for this type of camera is the Impossible Project's SX-70 type. The Fuji Instax is not compatible.
ok thy for the fast answer helped me a lot!
Thank you!!!!!!
Eu queroooo
i have that camera. trying to figure outif i can use it or not.
+Lex Summers I'd go buy a pack of film. Get SX-70 film. Make sure you take a picture outdoors or somewhere with TONS of light.
+McG800 ok probably will try, thx
dude! thank you for this!!!
oh...... the frog tongue stays outside.......
The ring of the text message and of the Polaroid shot at the same time lol
Thanks for doing this demo, I saw on their site that a lot of people were having trouble installing it because the instructions on the pack weren't clear. This is a good video reference for anyone who is planning on putting a frog tongue on their sx-70.
My Sweet Rampage Thank you! I saw those same comments too when I bought the tongue. I figured this would help somebody else out in the future.
