Love the longer videos! I'm gonna do some plant chores while watching. 🫶🏼 Also wanted to give a little update on my alocasia. I took them out of pon because of your alocasia video and found out they actually had root rot... since I don't have a soilless mix, I put a layer of pon on the bottom of the new pots and potted the plants into a chunky aroid mix on top. So far they seem to be happy (it's been a couple months) and I've seen a lot of new roots growing!! ☺️ If I hadn't seen your video, they would probably been dead now so thank you so much for that!! 🧡

the products may look like they are the same but the title tells you that some have auto on/off or timers while others done, which is why the price is different for two lights that look to be the same

I have an alocasia i bought just a few months ago... getting lots of new leaves but now im getting flowers or what ever thay are.... I didn't know they had flowers... Do i chop them ir leave them ... Thankyou

I just watched the video two times in a row to soak up all the information you're giving 🤭 I transitioned my Alocasia to pon about a year ago and they've been doing a lot better with pon, compared to the soil mix they've been in before... but at the moment a lot of them are struggling so maybe I might go back to soil or the soilless mix you're using 🤔 I love my Alocasia so much but they do frustrate me occasionally 🥲 Anyway thanks a lot for the video and all the helpful tips! 🧡

When I started collecting “rare” plants alocasias stood out to me. I got tons of them. Strangely they are my easiest after Hoyas. Doesn’t matter the substrate but what I find is they do better in no drainage for me. Sometimes life gets busy and they suffer but they always bounce back. I love that.

At around 6:00 corms store energy and nutrients for the alocasia as well as being a seed I have a zebrina that I have never taken any corms from that is huge the other dark petiole zebrina I bought at the same time I took all the corms to prop for friends the normal zebrina leaves are almost 4ft long and the dark petiole zebrina leaves are around a foot and a half

I have a rain tree that is about 3 ft high and wide . Lives in front of my south window (Midwest MO) I have to water it almost every day.. it’s pleasing to look at. Does drop leaves a fair amount and has small thorns but I’ve never had pest problems. Propagated it once by air layering. Anyhow . Your young tree looks super!

I haven’t finished watching the video yet but i had to comment since you showed the soleanum. Love mine so much as well. Since we last spoke, I made 2 cuttings that I’m acclimating to ambiant conditions. I’ll pot them soon in a soil mix. But it feels like a big transition as the mama is in moss I left the mother plant in more humid condition and she’s growing fast!

I once had it on my Begonia amphioxus and sadly lost the plant (I learned afterwards that it was powdery mildew)... I had it growing in room humidity though, since I don't have a terrarium and my cloches were too small. 😢 Seeing your plants makes me wanna get into carnivorous plants like Pinguicula and Drosera. Thanks for the inspiration! 🌱

I'm in college as well, and also taking a creative major so that whole discussion was relatable and encouraging. I also followed your mixture for your gigas though my original mix was already similar. My gigas is being so difficult at rooting but I'm willing to try again.
