I feal such a fool,born in74and farm too but always fever hard rock a Blanca as a kid in favour of60s and bit of ska and pop.always hated hair mettle as soulless pretentious un cool type of style i lumped in the 70s originals with motley crue crap along with little tv footage but god almighty,this bands are something else.I wish to god I could go back to been 18 and experience my new bmw on the motorway listening to deep purple or zeppelin instead of reggae cos it’s on another level to all styles of modern popular music before or since but most of all they are so relatable to me compared with a Kanye west or whoever

I wrote to the fan club based in the "Purple records" office building, when I was 15 and asked if Roger's "Butterfly Ball" project was going ahead. The chap who ran the club, asked Roger when he came in one day. He said he was about to go into the studio to start work and thanked me for asking .. and signed a piece of paper for me. I was over the moon 😀. I gave the signature .. which I kept in a CD of "Made in Japan"* by Purple, to a young bass player a few years ago. Hope it inspired him too. *Surely the best live hard rock album ever.

Well, yeah, but Roger is also what some might call landed gentry in political terms. Landowners can reinvent themselves as a voice in favor of the people. The royalty can also reinvent itself as a voice of and for the people by not censoring criticism of the subtle/not-so-subtle ubiquitous takeover by the rich and powerful. Just an opinion.

I didn't know Mr. Glover is a Welshman. Maybe, Mr. Glover being a Welshman is one of the reasons I've always liked him.

I saw Deep Purple 1984 Worcester Centrum, Worcester, MA. I have seen many concerts but that was one of the best shows I have ever seen in my life. They were all on fire......Lord on the Organ......Roger on Bass.......Ian on Vocal......Ritchie on Guitar and Ian "Keeping the pace" Paice on drums!!!!!! The songs sounded just like the albums and one of the best Laser shows you will ever see. The room was filled with Smoke.....IF you know what I mean and the lighter flames were HIGH!!!!!!! Roger you were Awesome that night as always!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Purple 4 ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RIP John LORD.

How come Deep Purple was so insanely famous, and yet I hardly see them in Rolling Stone's lists of 'Top 100 albums/artists/bands/guitarists of all time'. I have hardly even seen them on the cover of Classic Rock or Prog magazine. Strange.
