My CL 400 IS 1999 and still runs well , I fitted a stage 2 Hot Cam , Gives it a little more power high up but I needed to fit a manual decompresser and an red 400 can cover to accommodate it

What oil do you use/recommend for this bike? The manual is fairly vague on if it needs full synthetic or conventional. Also 15w40 is hard to find it seems! Would K&N 10w-40 (MA-2) be fine?

serious question: bought a rear rack w/ seat rest, then realized today that my buddy 50 max load says 236 pounds. My gf and I are both 125 lbs...combined, we're about 5% over, but I figure it's not a big deal. Yet, the average woman/man (in the US) is 160/200 respectively. That's 100+ lbs more, or 150% the weight max. If two petite women technically exceed the limit, is it *actually* safe for a typical American couple to share a Buddy?

I wanted one until I saw that the mpg is only between 59.9 and 82. Most get in the 60s. This data came from 48 different Buddy 50 riders reporting their miles per gallon on the Fuelly site. The Buddy 125 gets 70s to 80s going faster. I've got a KYMCO Agility 125 that isn't so great. I went to a Genuine dealer and really liked the size and look of the Buddy scooters. I won't trade for the same or lower miles per gallon. Their web site says 100+ mpg. I guess those 48 riders on Fuelly aren't doing it right.

I know for cars theres 5w20 and those sort of oils and same thing for the oil filters, whats the oil and filter for this motorcycle?

I have a buddy kick and love it but the warranty, customer service is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!! Do not expect them to take care of you! Once they have your money, they wash their hands of you!

Looked through all the comments, and I don't see one of the most important topics; the oil! The manual specifies "JASO MA2 15w/40". That is NOT a very common oil weight. I see Shell Rotella comes in that weight, would that be a good oil for this bike? I can't see the brand in the video - looks like "Dradgons" maybe??

This is the Shineray YMQ185 engine. S.W.M. bikes use a very similar one (YMQ 190) but overbored to 445.3 cc and fitted with an oil cooler, no kickstart. The oil change procedure is similar, but they recommend just running the engine for a few minutes before filling the rest of the oil into the tank (1.5L first, the rest after, 2.7L total). Quite a lot of oil!

I purchased a Roughhouse, I pick it up tomorrow from the dealer, super excited. However I think this commercial is more than a little cheesy. For instance, the dude is riding around at sunset with nice music painting a relaxing picture. Then you get your little 50cc two-stroke, that sounds like pissed off bumble bees chasing you down the road, and the reality is quit different.

great video. The KICK is a solid model. It checks all boxes being approachable for anyone no matter their height or experience level. This scooter is exceptionally easy to maintain too since its Fuel Injected. Just drive it once a month at minimum and be sure to change that oil every 800 miles. Simple. In my ten years of experience, Id vote KICK one of the top 3 scooters Ive ever seen.

This scooter uses a Chinese clone of a Yamaha Vino 50 4T engine. The Venture has already been discontinued and Genuine's support for it is literally non-existent.

Well, how much oil the engine contains? I can't clearly understand it. On my Shineray 400, there is a sticker on the engine which says 2.4 liters. I guess that 2.4 l - is too much, but i can't understand what is the real quantity of oil i have to fill in it?
