How're you able to spin jump on the koopa at 0:07? I'm playing through this, and I can't figure it out
wait until it reaches it's highest point when you see it's forward facing animation when it changes direction, thats when you wanna contact it with a spin into it's side. doing this cancels mario's upward momentum so you avoid hitting the low ceiling

do you have any tips for getting consistent at these, or is it just practice? I’ve been trying to get better at midairs for over a year and my pb is still just 6
it has been mostly practice for me. i typically end sessions around 15-20 minutes in cause thats around the time when i usually notice my focus deteriorating, i try to end it earlier if it's going worse than normal to avoid practicing bad muscle memory. sometimes experimenting with subtle changes to grip and amount of thumb pressure can also help turn things around if im feeling off

dude how do you make the triple consistent? i was forced to do a bump variation cuz i couldnt figure out how to get the height to get the z shot with the last shell
the cues i used were to do the first upthrow between the seam of the second and third deathblock below the muncher, very slowly move right and do the next upthrow before the dino at peak of the jump right before mario starts descending, do the third upthrow about a tile and a half above the dino, when all those things were done properly the spacing of the falling shells gave just enough time to face left and get the fourth upthrow off and have good height with mario. this triple juggle was so much more specific and precise to line up and space out compared to the baron one it's unreal, there's not much room to make movement corrections with it, thats why i opted to skip it entirely in the first clear i did of this level lol

yes. the level is included in the rom, but cannot be played unless the player edits it by moving the location mario starts on the overworld to an otherwise unreachable spot

There's no such thing as tool-assisted Kaizo anymore. Guess this gives me the all-clear to throw in a double shell-jump followed by double mid-air P-Switch jump while juggling 3 mushrooms during a time crunch in MMD Remix.

Are they the same as those front drop midairs? How do you actually do them?
i wouldn't say the inputs for these are similar to those of forward drop midairs. forward drops use a jump while neutraling your dpad then a brief right-down press to slow you down when you release the shell, then neutral again allows you to catch back up to the shell. these upthrow ones are mostly about putting the shell the correct distance away and meeting it near the apex of your jump so you can pass through it while releasing jump and run and pressing them again once you get the jump from the shell.

Depends on what they're going for, in my opinion. I'd have to see more to render a proper perspective. It _looks_ like the level design is just for testing the mechanics for spring platforms, but it could also function as a relatively simple introduction to said mechanics. Reasons being: 1) There are only 3 spring platforms present 2) It's a very short level that doesn't utilize anything abnormal for this type of hack. 3) Each spring platform requires a distinctly unique interaction: - The first is originally intended usage that most people should be accustomed to. - The second is something I've never even seen before. - And the third forces use of the most extreme end of the spring platform, something actively avoided by most players wherever possible.
