    If I was going to get just one, I'd pick Plini, because it has a wide range, and also really good cleans. Then I bought the Morgan suite, because I think that covers a lot of ground with cleans and pedal platform type use cases (Asato would also have covered me). But, I'm more of a Pedals into clean, clean-ish to edge of breakup player. Though I like the Morgan PR12 set to quite high gain. With a Royer R121 for sort of an early ZZ Top-ish tiny but huge-sounding Fender cranked combo vibe. Thinking of picking up Toneking Imperial mk.II. Because I have other good plugins for Marshall models, and don't play high gain.

      @@taylorjakubenko I use Tonex with the Amalgam Super Lead (MRSH SL100 1969) captures. And also the Softube Amp Room Marshall Suite. And I either use the JMP 2203, or sometimes the Bluesbreaker for that boxier / barkier combo tone. That said, my main Marshall tones come from a Marshall ST20 JTM studio head, that I run into the DAW from a Torpedo Captor, with IRs.

    • @taylorjakubenko
      @taylorjakubenko 23 дня назад

      @@bobbydreg5597 yeah.. I think Plini is more unique in sounds for what you already have. Nolly and Gojira both have the 5150 covered. Where as Plini you get more of the Friedman style high gain. But yeah in terms on Mid Gain and clean. Plini probs just has the edge. The chorus, octave & fuzz pedals definitely set it apart in versatility.

    Do you feel like the plugins are miles beyond the baseline models provided in the QC?...or maybe I'm not just good with setting it good rigs with the baseline amps provided or maybe that makes sense that they would keep the premium sounds they create within the paywall. I've been using QC in a hybrid setup with an actual amp still on stage. As soon as I updated and went with the standard Plini X I had a moment of I might be able to go straight QC direct to board. I have my setup ready to go live so the big test will be this weekend. Alot more feel response from the plugins to me at least.

    • @taylorjakubenko
      @taylorjakubenko Месяц назад

      You can only assume they spend a bit longer modelling the plugins as they are an individual product, tailored to specifications etc. the general amp modelling in QC is probably more of a simplified snapshot. I’ve heard people having a lot of success with built in amps but utilising their own 3rd party impulses. But yeah - probably not as straight forward as the plugin modelled amps.. maybe with the new amp modelling (TINA) there will be an increase in quality to get the general amp blocks at the same level as the detailed plugins. The best thing about QC is that it’s so powerful that. It’s relatively future proof.

    Did you post the results anywhere? My favorite in order, with my guesses in parenthesis: Option B (York) Option C (GGD) Neural Stock IR Option A (OwnHammer) I’m not sure which mics were being used for each capture, but Option A had a lot of the whistling frequencies that stand out from captures with a 421. Option C was the most “open” sounding with a pleasing top end but Option B was more balanced and wasn’t so prominent in the mids like Option C was, and it definitely sounded the best in solo.

    • @taylorjakubenko
      @taylorjakubenko Месяц назад

      Hey mate, Thanks for the comment.. No results given out so far but i can let you know now.. All IR's were using a SM57 generally located on the end of cone match location on the stock ir. Clean Examples Option A - York Audio - Vox VX30 2X12 BLUE (Alnico Blue Speaker) Option B - Ownhammer - Vox 2X12 VC30 - M25 (Celestion G12M-25 Speaker) Option C - GGD Zilla - Ported Cab - (G12 Creamback) Rhythm Examples Option A - OwnHammer - Marshall Mode 4 - 4X12 Cab - V30 (Celestion Vintage 30MF speakers) Option B - GGD Cali - Mesa 4x12 - Smooth Cab - V30 Option C - York Audio - Orange 2006 4X12 - ORNG 412 V30 (Celestion Vintage 30) Hopefully this helps (ive tried to keep the names similar to products names so they can easily be found) - My take on them was really that the GGD Ported Cab had a lot of unwanted whistling frequencies but had the largest range of High and Lows. York Audio was my favourite Vox. For the Rhythms, the Orange Cab just had that unique magic to it that suited the tone the best. You cant go wrong with any of the IR's for the Rhythms though, more so just a choice of flavour. Overall - York Audio seem to be the IR's id start with.

      Thank you for the in depth answer. Admittedly, I was referring to only the rhythm tones and completely skipped over the cleans. And secondly. I can absolutely check out the Two Notes Genome. Its some how slipped under my radar. Ill do a bit of research. And start having a look - will probs look at doing a video on it when i get back from Japan in a couple of weeks. Thanks for the suggestion!

    Thank you for this insight of your mixing technique! And thanks for the presets also :) Would love to see some presets from you for Archetype Nolly one day

      Absolutely can do. Nolly still has my favourite amps by Neural! I’m hoping they give it the update treatment soon. Will do some presets for it then or sooner!

      @@taylorjakubenko yeah I’m also waiting for this X update. It might push me to buy a Quad Cortex then. I’m not seeing it soon though.

      Yeah. I’m keen on a quad cortex. But I haven’t jelled with modellers as a whole. So the plugins (especially nolly) integration will be a major selling point.

      I played your presets a few times this weekend and I love it! Tones are great and seems really adapted to my guitar pickups

    as a gibson sg-x owner i agree! i love my sg-x but i hate bringing it to gigs because of how rare they are. also, fyi the gibson sg-x was in production from 1994[Q3orQ4]-1997[Q4] as the all american 1 sg before the sg-x name came in from [Q2]1998-2000[Q1], i've seen serial numbers ranging to Q1 of 2000. & i know a guy on ig claiming to have a custom shop one in a lightning paintjob

      Oh damn! That’s so awesome you own one. Virtually impossible to find one here in Australia. I can understand the hesitation to bring that thing around! Yeah i realised I stuffed up the dates too late in the piece. But hey, it happens! Thanks for clarifying! Gibson need to add some more dates though. I’d love to see a 2024/2025 run of these and beyond. There is no way it wouldn’t be a success. You’d see people using them live so often, just a straight up beast of a guitar!

      I feel that. Had a few opportunities to buy a few fender baritones and Squier ones back in the day. If only we knew what we know now! Insane. Surely they have a baritone jag or jazz in the works. Just such a demand for it!

    I’m with you on all fronts…I’m currently looking at 2 guitars…like you I’d love a Jag baritone but they’re too expensive so I’ve narrowed my search down to a CV Squier Tele baritone or a Squier Paranormal Stratosonic can’t really decide yet…gotta play them back to back and see which speaks to me the most. Keep up the great videos…also hoping that Sterling releases a Fluff model…👌

    • @taylorjakubenko
      @taylorjakubenko 6 месяцев назад

      Yeah i have the CV Squier Tele and the thing rips! the new Rabea Massad Nomad pick ups look like an epic fit for it (although to be fair the stock pick ups are no slouch). Soon as the latest Paranormal range was announced i was set on trying the Stratosonic and the esquire.. unfortunately haven't but man, Squier are doing awesome things! And yeah Sterling really need to start incorporating the artist series quicker! The Fluff model, Dustin Kensrue and the Rabea models will kill it. Especially if they can get out a baritone model! Thanks for your support! Trying my best to keep things going!

    Phil’s Charvel really should’ve had a hardtail like his original silverburst custom shop. I’m guessing because he’s taking over a lot of the lead playing in AILD now, he wanted his signature to reflect that.

      @taylorjakubenko 6 месяцев назад

      Yeah I hear you! I’ll keep hoping they bring it out with a hardtail..
