I am a Vietnam Vet that served in 1968-69 during the TET offensive. I was in the Mobile RIverine Force and saw many die and injured. I was 19 at the time and will never forget those that never came back to the World. I pray for the Vets that are still having pain from wars. They are soon forgotten by those that never went. I came home to be greeted with mud and jeers. I was hated for serving my country. So I made my service to my country my career. I gave THE UNITED STATES 34 years of service. But now the illegal aliens get treated better than any of us who served our country.

My uncle rip that served in nam he was drafted with his neighbor an childhood best friend the had a mix up in companys an ended up.in the same platoon somewhere near la drang vietnam he said with a vary blank face he was walking on piont an he was carrying a m60 machine gun an the rest had m14s an m16a1s his platoon leader told him to fall back an let his friend take piont for a while an he was having a conversation about back home in mid conversation a ambush happened his friend was hit with some kind of explosion probably a claymore or vietcong booby trap an was killed instantly my uncle caught shrapnel in both of his legs the enemy had them surrounded from all sides amazingly with shrapnel in his legs and bleeding out looked to the other man that was wounded more seriously the adrenaline kicked in and he was able to carry four of his men out while being fired at to the extraction point to be medevaced out of the area he was awarded a bronze star an a purple heart x4 I will never forget this story my uncle is in heaven with the rest of his brothers he left in some jungle rip Uncle Walter cayton we love an miss you so much

I dedicate this to my Uncle Robert. He served as a Marine in Vietnam from 1967 - 1972. Ive been told stories about him serving over there, from my Uncle himself, i like listening to his stories, They are pretty damn cool, He still has both of his guns he served over there with, An M-16, and his 1911, he dont bring them out too much because he says they remind him of his war days, He was born on September 12th 1950, he will be 75 this year, i can only imagine what him and his men went through in those 5 years he was over there, he retired as a Sargeant. His tours of duty were up in 1972, he was 25 when he came home, when he got off that plane he was called names, spit on, and cussed at, all for doing his job, He went on to tell me that after the war he had flashbacks, and it fucked with his head. If you somehow see this uncle bob, i was talking good about you ya old fart! I love ya!

I play this when I'm panhandling at the liquor store. Army surplus regalia and a wheelchair really sells it. People tell me thank you for my service and cry with me sometimes. I never served. I don't even like the military. I'm a conscientious objector. The military industrial complex is a scam to steal tax dollars and working class lives so I don't feel bad about scamming a little back. Sometimes, prostitutes will give me a military discount on veterans day if I tell them how I got injured. I can still walk ok, I did step out in front of a church bus years ago for the insurance. I keep it vague and say that it's hard to talk about. I've even faked a few "flashbacks" to get things moving in the direction I want them to go. Been doing it for years. Honestly, I'm a lot braver for this than if I had actually gone overseas and fought for the heroin and oil monopolies. Good song though.
