Hong Kong, 2024 June | Sigma FP | ZEISS Biogon T* 2/35 ZM and ZEISS Planar T* 2/50 ZM
I spent the last 2 days finding the 'In-Camera' look that required minimal colour grading for an upcoming project while maintaining a compact camera package. The test was conducted with the Sigma FP. The only changes I made to the camera body itself were adding a battery grip that supports 570 Sony NPF batteries and attaching the Sigma LVF-11 LCD View Finder.
The footage is 12-bit 1080p Raw, recorded directly to an internal SD card. I set the white balance at 5500K.
I shot the Sigma FP two to three stops underexposed, using the base ISO of 100. I find that using EL Zone keeps both highlight and shadow information intact.

I went with a 4:3 Aspect Ratio with the Sigma FP camera and Cooke Ivotal 25mm f1.8 lens. The Cooke Ivotal 25mm f1.8 lens is a versatile C mount lens, that pairs beautifully with the Sigma FP. I filmed in 12-bit internal Raw, 1080p in Super 35 mode

Finally had a chance to see how the ZEISS Jena DDR set matches. Only made a minor adjustment to the ZEISS Jena 25mm clips and left all others with the same changes. Also, this was a great opportunity to see how well the Sigma FP recovers shadow information. Increased overall exposure by 3 stops in Davinci, as I metered for the highlights using EL Zone. ngl the 1080p really lacks the resolution I was expecting, especially after the youtube compression. The pictures look great, but it just looks like 480p footage for some reason.
I thought that this had tens of thousands of views but it only has 100! Fantastic work!

How did you get 4:3? I tried in davinci resolve and it takes math for some reason
I used the output blanking option in the timeline menu under the "Output Blanking" option. To customize the output blanking value, you need to select the desired aspect ratio from the drop-down menu. If the aspect ratio you need isn't listed, you can manually input the values.

Just found a good deal on this camera after looking for one for a few weeks. So stoked to have the first gen xtrans sensor. The photos from it are so pleasing compared to the clinical ones my a7iv takes.

Hi Kirk, I just ordered a used copy of the Touit 32, for my XT3. It replaces my Fujifilm 35mm f2. I just really like the character I've seen in samples from the Touit.

I love the Loxias. To me it’s the perfect middle ground between new and vintage lenses. Used prices on the 21-35-50s have plummeted, great deals out there
I agree Ford, they each have a special rendering that is just sharp enough but a gentleness. The 35mm is one that really shows it’s character at f2 but when stopped down it’s modern tack sharp lens.

Jason, I would recommend trying out the 50mm Touit. Or ZEISS ZM lenses for the Fuji

I have 6 auto focus lenses and 6 manual focus lenses Fuji 3rd party only 1 XF lens the rest XC Fuji glass and manual focus lenses from TT Artisans, 7 Artisans, Viltrox, etc. etc. Nothing super nice like your set up!!! lol-hahaha;:--))

There's a 1.8 32mm native Fuji mount Zeiss Touit lens, can be found for a good price usually. Could work for your style.

I think the Zeiss'a are overpriced. Here's what's a good deal. The old Zeiss primes for the Contax RTS bodies. The N Contax lenses...nobody has figured out a way to get them to communicate on a digital body correctly. They aren't even functional as manual lenses on digital bodies.

this lens is straight up magical.The 35mm Fuji pales in comparison in my opinion. There's just something about the planar optical design that adds to the character and I can't even put my finger on it.
